COKE Station in EPCOT Open?

We were just there and it was open.

I had always read on here how bad Beverly tasted. So on our latest trip, I had to trick DH and DS8. I told them how great it was! The look on their faces was priceless!:lmao: Then I told DH I had never tasted it. So then, it was my turn!!:scared1:

However, I really liked the taste. Reminded me of cloves.

The new place is not as uniquely themed as the previous, now just basically another gift shop, along with the samples of various drinks from around the world.

We kind of miss the IceMan too!

And my mother-in-law's name is . . . you guessed it. BEVERLY. So, I get a secret kick out of saying "Beverly, YUCK!!!" (Actually, I love my MIL, and get along great with her!;) )

i was actually disappointed with the taste of the beverly. i had been reading all of these accounts on here and looked through all the photos of "beverly faces" so i was all prepared for this absolutely repulsive drink that was going to be a great challenge to get down one sip. and--- i really didn't think it was that bad. i even took another two sips to make sure there wasn't something i was missing. i didn't *like* it and i certainly couldnt drink a bottle of it, but i couldnt even drink a full one of those little cups they give you of any of the sodas. and yes, i tried it again another day to see if it was any more unbearable.

Actually...you can indeed find Beverly in Italy...although Robo and others are right. italians do not pop open and drink the beverage as we do other sodas (just to quench our thirst). And it is likely for many people who live in Italy never to have had or seen it as many things there tend to be regional. But it is actually bottled by the Coca-Cola company. They sell it in 100ml bottles. My husband's family is from Italy and some of them have had it.(He does not like it) Those Italians who drink it do so as a non-alcoholic aperitif (to cleanse the palate). It tastes a bit like quinine (same ingredent as tonic water). Italians use many of these bitter types of aperitifs (our American taste buds are just not ready to handle them...trust me mine certainly is not...I think it is nasty) Funny...my DS (14) likes it and stops by Club Cool before dining in Epcot to sample it and "cleanse" his palate each and every time. But then again...teenagers are very weird!

Now the watermelon and the strawberry sodas in Club Cool.
Yum-O!!:thumbsup2

I was going to add that I saw this for sale at a gas station in Italy two years ago, so some people do apparently pay cash money for the product.

I thought it was awful, like drinking chilled peroxide.

Heck I think I just described the Beverly's advertising campaign, Drink the Beverly for that fresh Peroxide taste without the harmful side effects! :rotfl:

What part of Italy are you guys finding this stuff? I've looked everywhere. I figured it had been discontinued or bottled under a different label name.

ETA: I see now with a search that these drinks are mostly consumed in the Northern parts of Italy and that would explain why I have not see Beverly and why the Italians I know don't drink anything like it.

Something else I missed last year it seems. Guess I'll be trying the "Beverly" and all the other concoctions Coke came up with next year. :drinking1

Beverly tastes like bitters to me, which are used for digestion. I have a bottle of aromatic bitters (brand: Angostura from Trinidad) that you are suppose to mix a small amount with tonic or mineral water. My bitters has 45% alcohol, gentian (a plant traditionally used for its healing/medicinal/tonic properties), and undisclosed vegetable flavoring and color. In addition to cleansing the palate, it can stimulate the appetite, increase bile the liver makes (which aids in breaking down your food) and can relieve flatulence.

I would be curious to know if Beverly actually has bitters in it.

It's all about how your taste buds are inclined or what you branch out and try and learn to enjoy new flavors. My taste buds have definitely changed since my childhood when I loved sugar. I can't handle super super sweet items like Krispy Kreme donuts. They actually make my teeth ache. I also prefer dark, almost bitter chocolate with a high chocolate content rather than milk chocolate. I don't mind flavors that taste like minerals (like tonic water) or bitters, etc. However, I don't like sour tastes like sour patch kids. So some people's reaction to Beverly type flavors is different from the mainstream.

I wouldn't drink huge amounts of it at a time but would probably buy it from time to time if it was available locally.

It has been re-opened since the rehab. You can still go in and taste the different 'Cokes' and buy merchandise, but the 'cool' tunnel you used to walk through is not there anymore.
