Coincidences in the parks – Let’s share

People we know: DH and I always see someone we know when we’re at WDW – a neighbor, someone from our home town, even a cousin of DH’s once.

Weird stuff: DS and I got on the monorail for a trip to EPCOT for the evening. A woman in our car introduced us to her teddy bear (this was NOT during Doll and Teddy Bear Weekend). She went on and on about how her girl Teddy travels everywhere with her, how Teddy picks out her own clothes, which WDW attractions Teddy likes best, etc. Rather bizarre. At the end of the evening maybe an hour after IllumiNations DS and I got on the monorail and this SAME woman is in our car. DS says, “Look out, it’s the Teddy Bear lady!”! :rolleyes1

Many years ago, we unexpectedly met up with a little girl who my DD went to daycare with at the Beauty & The Beast Stage Show in MGM. That was pretty weird. We didn't even know they were going to WDW. :)

We sat behind the same family at 3 different shows at 3 different parks on 3 different days back in 1999! :rotfl:

We didn't know them, had never met them before (or since) but when we went to Fantasmic, Candlelight Processional and Tarzan Rocks, we ended up sitting behind the same folks! Spooky....

During my first trip to WDW in 2001, I ran into a girl I used to work with and had not seen in almost 10 years. Funny thing was, I live in California & she lives in Rhode Island!! How weird that we ran into each other at Disney World of all places. It truly is a magical place!

I ran into one of my day care students while on my honeymoon at WDW! It was the last day of his vacation and my first day there. It's a small world after all!

I got one..it was at Sea World...I ran into..my brother! We don't talk that often, I had heard he was going to Florida sometime in November. But I thought..What are the chances??? We come walking out of Wild Artic and DH says "When's your brother supposed to be here?" I was like "Why?" He goes "I don't know but that guy sure looks like him". Sure enough, there he was. It was weird. He lives 45mins away and I see him maybe once a year, last year's once a year was at Sea World! Too Weird!!

There was a family who sat in the rows behind us on the plane, then we were on the same ME bus and ended up staying in the same hotel (Poly) and kept seeing them everywhere at the resort and monorail/buses.

In April, 5 of us rode EE together. My DH was riding in the front car alone, when this guy joined him for the ride. He was at AK by himself. We saw him the next day at TT at Epcot, and the next day at MK. It was really weird, the parks were packed and we kept running into the same guy.

I was videotaping the Share A Dream Come True Parade when the float with Peter Pan came by. I thought "he" looked familiar, but couldnt tell, as I was far away and had a camcorder to my face. Later on that day, as I was exiting the park, I heard my name being called in the distance. I thought "who on earth could that be?!". I turned around and it was one of my old good freinds from highschool. I asked what she was doing here and she says she works here-as Peter Pan in the parades! She has sinced moved up to Mickey Mouse!

Also, back in 1996 0r 1997 (I dont remember), when I was a junior in HS, I went on my spring break with my family to Disney. I was so excited to get away from my school work and my teachers, yet sure enough, who did I bump into at MGM-my math teacher and his wife! I ended up talking to him for a little bit, but I just thought that was weird!

That's so funny!
This happens to us all the time too, we seem to always see at least one family every day, like we are following each other around. Last trip the boy in the family always wore a huge Socerers Hat we saw it all the time...

We seem to run into someone we know too on many vacations we take- cruises, WDW, other states. It get's to be a game with us to see who we can find...

A few years ago, checking into OKW, I was lined up with someone who lived in the Condo I worked at - go figure.

Secondly, again a few years ago, at the Boardwalk in September we met and spoke extensively with a family one evening, met them again in the hot tub a few times. Went to the Boardwalk the next January, and lo and behold, there they were again in the hot tub - go figure! We all recognized each other and had a great time catching up

In 99 when DS (then 11) and I were at the pool at ASSp I heard my name being called. I looked around and saw a girl I ran around with before I was married. She was leaving the next day and we had just gotten there the day before.

Our last trip we were sitting outside of the Dinosaur ride at AK, and along comes one of the families from our church/school. The trip was the first week of summer break, and her son had just graduated, and was celebrating his birthday/graduation with this trip. She just had to take a picture of all of us for the school yearbook.

Usually, we see several different people we know on the trip, since we usually go either the first week of summer or during fall or Christmas break. So, we actually saw several other people we knew from home, and usually do so at least two or three times a trip.

In 1998 we were at Beauty and the Beast and ran into my then boyfriend's, now husbands cousins from New Hampshire. I had never met them before and only twice since, Several states away but we meet at Disney.

On our 1st trip last year, my DD Bailey met another little girl Bailey in the HedgeMaze while we were watching British Invasion (and ejoying a 1/2 yard or 2). We met the partens and hng out for @1 hour and had a great time, it was their 1st day there. 3 days later on our 2nd day at Epcot we were in that courtyard and my Bailey says "Mom, I think that's Bailey over there" Of course, I didn't think a 6 year old could be right but she was! They had enjoyed the band as much as us and wanted to check them out again. hung out for @1hr again and had a great time. For the rest of the trip my DD tried to look fo the other Bailey everywhere we went!

On our honeymoon in 1974, Dh and I got on the monorail after spending a blistering day and soggy evening in MK. I was dressed for the weather - PINK halter, PURPLE bell bottom jeans with patches ( this was the '70's remember), a bright YELLOW Goofy poncho and a lovely PINK large brimmed picture hat (remember those) Suddenly, DH smiled and acknowledged the other couple in the car. I was mortified when he introduced me to his high school principal. Talk about small world - and they weren't little dolls either.

I have a good one!!

We lived in a suburb of Detroit Novi, MI. for a couple of years (DH job). We lived in an exec. type town homes and everyone there was transfered for a couple of years only. We became friends with a Japanese family that also loved Disney!! We kept in touch when we moved away to LA then, one day the youngest son sent a Flat Stanley to visit us. We had so much fun taking him around our city and....wouldn't you know it, we had a disney trip planned so we took him with us. Well my friends called to tell us they were moving back to Japan. During that conversation, we realized that we were going to be in WDW at the same time!! We met at DTD and took pictures together.....with Flat Stanley. I always like to say Flat Stanley wanted us to see each other on more time!! :goodvibes

When we were in Epcot this past December my aunt got in line for test track. The woman in front of her was somebody that she works with. They both kind of did a double take when they saw each other. They ended up riding Test Track together and my aunt bought one of the pictures that they take so they could show everyone at work. I think it is funny how you can be over a thousand miles away from home and see someone that you know but don't often run into them locally.

Can I share one even if its not Disney?

Last year, we went on a Western Caribbean cruise with friends. We were spending the day on a beach in Cozumel, Mexico and struck up a conversation with a woman who was sitting next to us. Come to find out, not only did she live in our home town, we only lived about 1 mile away from each other. We were absolutely floored!
