We're planning to take a Melitta Ready Set Joe on the ship so we can have our own coffee in the cabin. It's a filter holder that sits on top of a mug. You pour the hot water into the filter, over your grounds, and voilà, you have a fresh brewed cup.

But of course we will need the hot water! Is that something room service can bring?

We've had this for a few months now and it's a neat little apparatus, easy to pack, and very inexpensive. I picked mine up in the coffee aisle at Kroger for less than $4.

Yes, room service can bring you hot water. But, if you need to wait for the hot water, why not just order coffee? You'll still have it in your room, when you want it.

:cutie:

Because we want OUR coffee, not some faux representation thereof. We're snobby that way.

Thanks for the response!

Haha, I never knew that it had a name! We have the same thing - used it lots for a single cup o joe, but now that the keurig is out we use it now mostly for camping.

We too are coffee snobs, we might be bringing ours as well since the keurig is a bit bulky to pack:rotfl:

thanks for posting!

That sounds really cool. I have never heard of something like that. I totally understand being a coffee snob, as I am a member of that group also:thumbsup2 BTW, can't wait to meet you guys as I think you are on the 9/11/11-9/15/11 cruise too!

Is the coffee any good on DCL?:confused3
I know there are specialty coffee shops onboard but how is the
regular coffee? I need my Joe in the morning! :surfweb:
Thanks!

Retro, we'll have to get together for coffee :)

Sounds great to me!! I went to the cafe a lot during our last cruise. I couldn't stay away from the little goodies and the coffee. It was soooo good. I only have a Keurig so I'm not planning on bringing THAT! ;) Don't forget about our DIS meet. What are your travel plans? We are driving down around midnight Friday night. Should be about 13 or 14 hours:scared1: We are staying at the Comfort Inn.

Tina

It is either the worst on the planet, or the best in the universe, just depends on your preferences*. It's safer to discuss politics, religion or taking your kids out of school for a vacation on this board than to talk about coffee.

Coffee= I am at work.

Vacation=No coffee.

*As for my opinion, some of the coffee snobs actually think Starbucks sells good coffee. So they may be snobs, but they clearly know nothing about coffee.:rotfl2:

tvguy, I think you might be right!! haha

Tina - we're driving to the port, staying at Country Inn the night before. We'll be there in time to watch the Richmond NASCAR race.
