Coffee Junkie here--HELP

Ok Eeyore, you must tell me EXACTLY where I can find these. You said AK, but where? I want one NOW!!! :)

Does WL have coffee makers in the room or do you have to request one?

WL has vile coffee. I bring my own Green Mountain Coffee beans from Vermont when I go.
I can vouch for that!

But we did get espresso at Artist Point at the WL, much better!

I have to have my espresso every day also. No Nescafe garbage! On our November trip I found several espresso CARTS with real beans, fresh ground, etc. - the real deal. Espresso, lattes, cappucinos.

Keep in mind you can also have these drinks made and poured over ice if you think it's too hot out.

AK park - there was an espresso cart out front before you reach the ticket booths. It was off to the right side after you exit the trams.

MGM park - we always go to Starring Rolls Bakery right next to The Brown Derby restaurant. However, there is also one of the carts right across from the ToT exit/gift shop.

EPCOT park - There were at least two carts here. In Future World, after going through the breezeway and Mission Space pavilion is directly in front of you, look toward your left and there is a cart. There is also another one in World Showcase right past Canada and near the old "Millenium Village" entrance. Of course, there is also Fountainview Cafe, right by the fountain in FW.

MK park - forget it! There isn't a single decent coffee in this park AT ALL! What a shame.

Typhoon Lagoon water park - there was a cart when you pass the towel rental stand and walk over the bridge toward the wave pool, head a bit toward your right. It is right there.

Keep an eye open for those carts, people, and use them! Maybe we can get the message across to WDW that REAL coffee/espresso drinkers are growing in number.

Being a strong, dark roast coffee junkie, WDW is tough....
I bring my own travel coffee maker & beans. I make mugs of espresso for myself & carry them with me. There are so few places to get a good coffee in WDW......

Good Luck!

And don't forget the WATER!!! WDW has a Nestle's contract, so except in a few, limited areas (listed above) you will get Nescafe...like at all the counter service restaurants, food courts, most sit-down restaurants, etc. We ALWAYS bring our own coffee and filters, and buy bottled water at Publix...the Florida water is NASTY and totally ruins your coffee...soda, iced tea, etc. You get the idea. Can't help you with lattes, caramel macchiato (venti, extra caramel please!), etc., but the only way to get reliably decent coffee every morning is to make your own with bottled water!

Starring rolls in mgm seemed a little better and i thought the french bakery was better( but maybe i was just acclimated to nescafe by then) so maybe it depends at least somewhat on the place unless they serve different coffees there.. neither my husband or i thought the kenya coffee was that good ( didn't have a great experince though at Boma so maybe that colored our opinion) and did't get the 100%Kona ( due to the kenya experience) but the kona blend wasn't bad at the Poly. it just always seems weak to me although not as bad as the instant hot chocolate at Fantasmic...tasted like 1/2 an envelope of swiss miss in 2xs to much water ..made a great hand warmer but not drinkable!

I am a complete and total Starbucks addict!!!!! :drinking1

It was crisis time when we went to WDW in Dec 2003. I couldn't find ANYTHING!

But then I found Ghiradelllis (sp) at DTD and that held me over. Their mochas (I always ordered a double shot) were good!

Do they have coffeemakers in the rooms at GF? My DH is also Starbucks addicted and will be "Grumpy" if we don't give him his morning fix!

If they have them I will RUN not walk to Starbucks right now to find those pre made filters!

THANKS!

You can request a coffe pot and bring your own coffee and filters. Most if not all resorts will bring you a coffee pot at no charge. I have requested them all over the place at WDW. Can't ever remember not getting one.

No coffee makers at the Values :guilty:

I would much rather have a coffee maker than a hair dryer. I can bring my own hair dryer, but I would feel stupid with a coffee maker on the plane.

I absolutely agree with using bottled water if you are brewing your own coffee! That is what I always do.

Starbucks has lovely instant hot chocolate - it might even be on clearance since it is usually a holiday item. Certainly not a replacement for coffee, mind you, but nice to have on hand.

Muffy -

Thank you for the response - you may have just saved my trip - or at least my DH's attitude!

hehehe! I know how you feel! I was writing that out, remembering back, and making my mouth water! :D

We accidentally ran across the frozen coffee in the AK back in 2003 (so I hope they still have them!!). All I can try to do is describe to you the location of the cart where we found it being sold (never did find it any other location or park?!). You enter AK through the main gate, walk through the pathways, come to the bridge which takes you into Discovery Island (?), cross the bridge (you'll see the Tree of Life right before you), and the little cart that sold the frozen coffee was always just to the right as you crossed over the bridge.

Well worth looking for and a great way to start your day! Enjoy!

I can cook at home but I need my daily dose of "GOOD" coffee. I would hate to have to pack my coffee maker, grinder, and beans. Never that I would have to add that to my packing list.

I guess I have to start detox  from good coffee and Chai Tea Latte's from Carribou.

Hm. I guess I'm the only one on this thread who thinks Starbucks coffee is flavorless and texture-less, rather like McDonald's hamburgers...

But, yeah, as far as "real" coffee goes, you're out of luck at Disney unless you know where to look. Kona Cafe serves some great coffee - MUCH better than Starbucks too - and some of the better restaurants press and brew their own beans. Ghiradelli's is pretty good too.

Another thumbs up for coffee: DTD, Earl of Sandwich, Kona coffee, it was wonderful and they gave me a free re-fill to boot!

Another coffee addict here, and although there are many recommendations about decent coffee (Kona Cafe, expresso carts, Dolphin's Starbucks) I drink mostly a dark roast made in a french press so it is quite strong, I have not found anything at WDW that is really great. The ones mentioned are OK but not as good as what I make. We have shipped ahead our french press, grinder and a hot pot to heat the water. Last trip I made do with just a grinder, beans and the WDW coffee pot, it was just fine. I always make enough to have some leftover for iced coffee in the late afternoon at the balcony at the BW....love those moments just relaxing!!I know many folks probably think I'm nuts to go to such lengths, but I do not drink alcohol so this is my "afternoon cocktail" and I want it to be delicious, just as good as home. ::MinnieMo

I too am a coffee junkie. I regularly drink Kona and white coffee. I don't usually go to starbuck because they have neither, but I do love the Caramel Frapps! I also want to try the Chantico! yummy..... But other than the Kona coffee at the Poly, is there anywhere else that might have White coffee in the resort area?? I drink coffee not only for the sheer pleasure of it, but also for my health... I have asthma. I anyone knows about white coffe at WDW, that would be great!!!! puckerup:

Thanks bunches!!

:fish: Jen :fish:

Ps. Has any one had the Chantico at Starbucks??

Tink, white coffee? Where could I give that a try at? I have never heard of it.

I too brew my own in the room. Stayed at POP once and bought an $8 coffeemaker at Target and found someone on the budget board to pass it on to at check out.

I did notice that at a few places (can't remember where) in Dec there was 'Nescafe' and some other type of coffee listed - ie NOT the brown crayon dipped in warm water. I asked about it and was assured that it was some type of Nestle brewed coffee, but I was not brave enough to try it. This seemed to be something new, perhaps due to declining coffee sales?

I always push the coffee cart outside Italy - they make the best espresso drinks on site, plus it's near the living statues. (and they have great desserts too) Last visit I think that I had the best latte I've had outside Europe. The server said that he had travelled all over the world working at different coffee joints, and ended up at Epcot. Don't know if his little tale was true, but he definitely makes the best coffee drinks at Disneyworld.

Sorry, I don't remember his name, but this was only a few weeks ago ie December 2004.

Starbucks is still nearest at the Premium Outlets, or Marriott Orlando World Center (but I counted at least 20 people in line there one Sunday morning in December!!!)
