Codes and TAs?

Sorry if this has been asked before...

I'm thinking of booking with a disney-authorized TA.
What happens if (god willing!) I get a code sent to me? Can I tell the TA and get it applied, or is only when you book directly via disney?

Your TA can have the pincode or code added to your ressie. My AAA travel agent did it for me last year. It voided my AAA discount but the pin was a better deal.

Also can you still call Disney to see if a code is attached to your name if you have a TA or is that something the TA can see? Just wondering since some have stated that they never received an email or postcard about their Pin code but when they kept calling they had one attached. Don't want to miss out!

I agree; my AAA TA changed my package from the AAA discount to my code without a problem.

And, yes, you should be able to call since the code would be attached to your name, not to the reservation.

I can only speak from our experience...

We have dealt with a Disney-authorised TA for our last 2 trips and the upcoming one. Last year we received a 40% pin code. Because the TA had made the reservation (same thing happened this time with our 20%) we couldn't call ourselves and have it applied. She had to make all of the contact. We got a nice surprise last year with our 40% (concierge level at the Poly for 2 nights).
