Do these ever happen? I know that this is WDW busiest week so I doubt they are offering any discounts or specials but it never hurts to ask:goodvibes

We're checking into the Wilderness Lodge on December 17-23 and I would love to know the answer to that one. We're Florida residents and annual pass holders...first year for both. From the looks of past discounts, it looks like a discount may be available for our stays. Does anyone know how much of a discount they've offered in the past? Also, are the crowds really heavy during that time?

We have gone the last two years over Christmas week. We have gotten discounts both years. When you call Disney always says there are no discounts given over Christmas but thats just not true. You can search the Dec. 2008 code watch thread and it will show you when the discounts started coming and what the were. Last year we used Disney Visa free dining but it wasnt the only discount available, just the best for us. :goodvibes

We got free dining this past Christmas using our Disney Visa. We had to check in by 12/20 in order to qualify. It was our first visit at Christmas and it was so neat. We spent Christmas Day at EPCOT and it was surreal -- packed to the gills, but surreal!

The PIN Code I received several weeks ago was good through 12/24 and we were able to apply it to our stay at the Poly on the nights of 12/23 and 12/24. We did have to upgrade from standard view to lagoon view which made the night of 12/25 more expensive, but even so it saved us $200 total. This doesn't help you if you didn't get that offer, obviously, but it is an indication that such offers are sometimes made.

'09 will be our 3rd Christmas at Disney. We have gotten steep discounts all 3 years, but we have arrived before Christmas (like on the 17th or 18th) and have left the day after. Since the discounts have ended on either 12/23 or 12/24 in the past, I would expect that again for this year. If you are planning to go during the week between Christmas and New Years, historically there are no discounts offered during this time.

We actually stayed last Christmas from 12/21 - 12/29 and got free dining for our entire stay plus a small room discount as well. Not really sure how, but I didn't argue and was certainly glad to have saved over $1200.

I'm hoping there will be something this year as well, although I have not planned a trip yet. I know it will be much easier to convince my husband if we get a discount again!

We have not usually found discounts the week between Christmas and New Years. We are Fl residents and AP holders and have never gotten one during that time period.

We did get a AAA rate at the Swan on Dec 30-31 last year, so you could check with AAA.
