Coach outlet question

My husband asked my what I want for our anniversary this month and what I'd really like is a Coach purse. But, the prices listed on their website are out of our budget right now. So I am considering driving out to the outlet (about 2 hours away) to see if they have anything. But before I do, I was wondering how the pricing compares. I'd like a medium/large bag (a mom purse ) and would prefer leather. If anyone has been there recently what type of prices could I expect?

It just depends on the bag, but the one over on Vineland near Disney did have some good buys last week.

I picked up a Madison crossbody from the boutique for about $100, including tax. It was originally $258. They did have a gorgeous graphite patent tote that was made for the factory store that was marked down to $130 and was an additional percentage off (30%, I think).

Here's the phone number for the Tanger Outlet (517) 552-4949. There is a Coach Outlet store there. Maybe you can call and tell them what you're looking for and see what they have and how much it costs. Try Birch Run too.

There is a fantastic section usually in the bag with an extra 50% off and there is often quite a bit to choose from. For this month at Birch Run you can buy a coupon book for $2 for breast cancer research and get an extra 20% off one item at Coach. I'm heading there on the 17th!!

I got really lucky once and got a Hampton pebbled leather satchel for $99. But I went shopping for mom for Mother's Day, and was able to find many basic leather bags for under $200.00 easily. I'd plan on $200, but you can probably come in around $160-170 without trying too hard.

it seems like every other week they are emailing out another 20 percent off couons that just work at the outlets. I havent gotten one this week. if i do i will let you know!

We had great luck at the Coach Outlet in Osage Beach MO over Labor Day weekend. I got one for 104.00, DD got one for $90, girlfriend got a completely leather bag (beautiful) for $160 I think. All of the bags were about 1/3 of the regular price. They were VERY NICE. We did have one of the 20% off coupons and that did help some. A 2 hour drive is well worth it!

Thank you for all the replies, I knew you guys would help! I'm thinking I should take the drive out there. I may check TJ Maxx here first, because they do sometimes have Coach bags. I'm so tired of buying a new cheap bag every few months, so I'm hoping to invest in something that will last.

I don't know how soon you want it, but I know the Coach outlet store had some AMAZING deals on Black Friday. It was an absolute madhouse in there, but the prices were shocking. I got a brown leather bucket bag, normally $458, for $129.

I agree with the pp's about getting the coupons, they come on a fairly regular basis.

If nothing else, it's always fun to go and look around, you never know what you'll find in there!

I save all year for the Breast Cancer 25% off sales...I just went last weekend and got a $425 back for.....$95!!!!! I love it, as I do all my Coach bags..it is so worth it, that I think I am driving out there next weekend again.

I also forgot...they are constantly bring more merchandise out, so if you don't find anything ( I know that's silly ), just wait 5 or 10 minutes and they come out with new stuff....that's how my dd got a nice little bag for $20 last year.

I also go during October when you can get 25% off at some of the outlets by donating $1 to breast cancer. I got a decent sized coach tote style purse and matching wallet (The large size) for less than $200!

You might also want to try Columbus Day weekend...the outlet near us usually has really good deals on Holiday Weekends (Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc.) but they don't advertise so I think you either have to call to find out or just go.

I got two last week at the outlet for a total of $225. I donated $1 for the breast cancer 25% off coupon for each bag. I might check it out next weekend bc of the holiday weekend they usually have a sale on top of their outlet prices.

Thank you for your replies. I went out to Birch Run Coach Outlet today. They had a coupon where if you donate $2 to Breast Cancer you got 20% off. I was able to get a very nice large leather bag for $139. It was origionaly $400 I think. So not too bad for sure! The bag was marked down to $229 with an additional 30% off and than another 20% with the coupon. I'm glad I drove out there. Thanks for the advice, I knew I could count on the DIS!

Congrats on your new bag! Once you start buying Coach you can't stop. I got my 1st Coach 2 or 3 years ago as an anniversary present and now I own 5. My newest one I bought about 2 1/2 weeks ago and is a big tote that I got for 1/2 off retail at the outlet about an hr away. I tend to find better deals in Nov and before the holidays but I needed a purse big enough to use as a diaper bag as well.

I hear about everyone getting coupons and I have never gotten one!
