It would to someone from New Jersey, which is about as representative of America as Charlton Heston is of Hollywood.

How utterly charming !

........Sadly, Peter is right, now it will get even more ugly.

Going off topic a little....
Oh gosh, I hope not.
The election isn't far off and it will be over soon. No matter who wins, it will be a relief in a way. I am voting Kerry, but if Bush wins, I'll deal. It's happened before.
Here's hoping we can all hang in there.

Because all I saw was Bush not answering the questions. For example, when the question was about jobs, he immediately switched to a prepared speech about education.

But Kerry did the same thing. In fact, IMO, the only reason Bush looked so bad in the first debate is that he failed to stick to his points. Kerry did so in all three debates and Bush did in the 2nd and 3rd.

I hope you're right. My prediction is that the post election mess will last at least until early December though. I'm afraid the election won't be over WHEN it's over.

But jobs and the economy are very important to American voters. He totally danced around it.

With my department being cut in half next week, it is an issue that is very important to me.

It would be important to me too. It happened to me a couple of years ago and it was difficult. Are you saying that you want to know what's being done to create an evironment that jobs can be created, or are you wanting to know how he's going to "create jobs", or do you think it is his fault that your department is shrinking?

Unless you work for the government, how is the President going to make your business more profitable? What can a President directly do that would possibly cause your company to not need to cut costs?

I must have been watching a different debate.

Sounds like the one I watched.
