CMs...I wish they would just give a straight answer.

Why? Why can't they just give you the "right" answer? How are you ever supposed to know what the real story is? I don't understand it...and it's frustrating me!

I called this morning asking about the Free Dining at AOA, Little Mermaid rooms. So far, only the week of Sept. 15th is available for the promotion. The CM spoke to member services and came back to say, "Keep checking back in the next couple of days. They have not loaded all the categories for free dining in AOA and my dates "should" come available.

So, I call back tonight and get someone totally clueless. They don't even know the basics, like free dining carries for your entire stay as long as you are checking in before end date of the promotion, among other things.
After 56 min...56 min! She finally comes back to tell me that what the previous person told me is wrong. All the categories are uploaded and what is there is what is there.
It's so frustrating! Who do I believe? Do I keep calling to see what someone else has to say? Do I keep checking online, hoping my dates for LM free dining come up? Aaargh! I just want to know what is really going on and why it is so hard to get all their employees on the same page.
I mean, doesn't everyone get the same memos? LOL
Vent over...sigh. Thanks for not giving me a terrible beat down for being so frustrated over a silly room. :rolleyes:
 
one of the reasons the answers vary is that you might get the DRC at Disney World which is probably what you got earlier when they talked to Guest Services and when you called back you got over flow, nights, weekend, holiday agents that mostly work from home.

I would call back and keep checking. While the inconsistency might drive you crazy and rightfully so, until you find the right person that can book what you want right then, what anyone else says or does not say really does not matter.
 
I completely agree!!! Its very frustrating!!! I had a similar experience, I called got a CM who said I had a PIN attached to my name and that I could use it for Free Dining in Dec. if I was going to plan a trip for that time. I told her I'd have to wait until Fri. of that week to book once DH got paid to make a Dep. I called back on Fri. and the CM I got that day couldn't find the so called PIN and I gave him the number that the previous CM had given me and he told me that there was no such PIN and that she gave me false information. So, I agree who do you believe?
 
Yeah, I hate having to call them. They are the nicest people in the world usually but they all have different answers. I say all the time that I wish I could train them because I know TONS more than they do. Last time I called I had to the the woman what she needed to change to make something work the way it was supposed to.

I would keep checking online only. What you see online is what is in their system. If you see it there then know that you can call and get what you want.

Trust me I feel your frustation. If you keep calling your just going to get some random answer more than likely and they never know what's about to happen before it's the actual time for it to happen. The majority of them anyway.

I did notice that the LM rooms are now not appearing anymore for the dates that I was able to book them for. 9/15-9/22. Makes me think maybe it was an error and they went ahead and removed it. Either that or they want them all to come out at the same time so they're removing it until they have a better idea of what they're doing.

You are right. No use to call. I'll just keep watching. I did book room only because I don't want to lose the rooms to selling out. Hopefully, the free dining will kick in and I can add it, because right now I have POR resv. and AOA resv. LOL

Unfortunately I don't think your booking a room only will help out to make sure that you get a room with the deal if it becomes available. Although the resort could have plenty of rooms, they only set aside so many for deals and once they are gone they are gone. Let's just say that there is 100 rooms set aside for free dining out of the 300 rooms that they have (I'm using random numbers here just to give an example). If those 100 rooms sell out they may still have 150 left from the non-discounted rooms but they won't give them to you at the offer. Just because you have a room booked won't mean you'll get that offer for sure. It's only if some of those 100 rooms are still available. I hope that makes sense. I tried to explain it the best that I could. I'm sure others could explain it better and in less words. LOL!

From what I know with my call center experience, you can *give* people info, but you can't make them read or hear it, understand it, or remember it. It was always amazing to hear what others around me were saying based on the same info we were given, or to see the notes in peoples' accounts based on the same info...

Yeah, I know this is true. Hoping to catch it when it's available, but if for some reason I can't, I will still have my rooms blocked out. We need 14 days and it's hard to get them all in a row. I just need everything to fall into place exactly how I want it, and it'll all be good. LOL Not asking too much, eh?

OK I think I got ya now. Didn't realize you were needing 14 days. I thought your AOA reservation was going to cancel out your POR reservation. I thought you were only going to keep AOA if the FD came along. It's late and I'm confusing myself methinks. LOL! Oh well, hope you get what you want and by the way, I noticed your sig line last night, the souvenir, I thought that was so funny and cute. Love it!! Made me wonder how you have time to get a souvenir like that while in Disney. Ha! :rotfl:

No, no. You are right. That is what I am "supposed" to be doing, but I got desperate and started grabbing at straws even though I knew it didn't make sense. LOL
I was all set and happy with POR until they posted the LM rooms opening...and then the free dining pushed me over the edge. It just looks so much more exciting for the kids. I know they will be in awe. So here's hoping pixie dust is coming my way. Sigh...

As for our little souvenir, she was a surprise and I'm not sure how we lived without her. However, this next trip, I'm making sure there is no time left for "souvenirs". LOL

I just wanted to let you know for future reference in case you weren't aware of it, that you could book something and have 7 days from time of booking to make the deposit. You get a confirmation number and an email just like you would if you made the deposit at that time, but as long as you get your deposit in within 7 days, you're good ;). With that said, if the deposit is not made within that time frame, your reservation will automatically cancel. This can be done for both room only and package reservations :goodvibes.
 
They can be pretty hit or miss. I called while staying at BC once to see if I could apply the current BB offer to an upcoming trip. I was told absolutely not. I called again the next day and asked exactly the same question and was told, 'no problem'. Cha-ching, $1,000..
 
I would just be super straight with what your looking for.... I find that most of the time I call I just get right down to the point... most CM just want to help... I just think you get some people that just aren't so Disney... I have work at a call center for years and I find when I am just friendly I get what I want... I just booked a trip with free dining for nemo can't wait.

Quite. There's a great variety of differences in play too.

There's the agent does something that they're technically not supposed to, but the system lets them. Agent think it's harmless [and largely it is], but it provides the huge mess of inconsistent service.

There's also the fun times when an agent has come up with the reason something is the way it is without actually knowing. Which results in frustration.
 
Okay, this thread actually had no activity between April and today (and I never saw it originally), but what stuck me is the first CM told the OP to call back in a couple of days, after all the discounts were loaded into the system. Instead, she/he called back the same day.

I'm not saying the first CM would have been right and more options would have opened, but at least give it a chance?
