EPCOT DAY 3

Not quite as early as the last couple of day’s but we’re up at 5.45am and the girls shortly follow at 6 and 6.50. So we shower and have breakfast and head out, we arrive at Epcot at 8.50am and wait for the opening and follow the crowds to Soarin  ……

We ride in row 2 and we really enjoyed it, we have only ever ridden upfront but I felt that row 2 was a little more intense if you know what I mean?, just a shame having to view the feet….lol :rotfl2:

Next we head over to Nemo that was a walk on well more like a race on as the girls were that far in front of us  ….and then we hear it!…Cmon Grandma & Grandad keep up!!.:lmao: We then head over to get FP’s for Test track, this is a ride that neither my DD’s or I have ever done!, oh neither has my Mum and once again she’s panicking and asking my Dad what it’s all about :scared: , I swear she thinks we’re trying to kill her off!!

Anyway we get our fast passes with return time 10.10 - 11.10, so we head over to Innoventions, we watched the show about freak weather storms, which was really interesting, our DD’s weren’t too sure once the storm took hold!, we had a quick look at Kim Impossible, but we saved this for another day ;)

So back to TT and it was excellent  , our DD’s and I loved it, Mum wasn’t too sure, she made it clear she wasn’t doing it again (but did she?)
We decide now to head over to the world showcase and we spilt up for a good few hours so Mum and Dad can go at their own pace, we head to Mexico and both DD’s decide to stop at the Kidcot station to make the mask’s for the 4th time……, but it kept them Happy! And happy DD’s means a really happy Mum & Dad! :thumbsup2

We meet up with my parent’s unexpectedly in Morocco, we make a decision to leave and have a nosey around the Boardwalk….wow it’s lovely around there, the only problem we encountered was my Mum and her feet!!, they were killing her and she had blisters on the sole’s of her feet:sad2: …ouch, so we eventually leave and head over to Prime Outlets to purchase some new shoes!!

We have a reservation for 50’s prime time tonight, but we decide that if my Mum’s not up to it we’ll cancel it, but no my Mum decides she’ll be fine :)

But the 50’s prime time was a let down, I was soooo disappointed :headache: , our server at 1st looked like she could be good fun, but we were sat in a separate area with 4 other table’s and the other 3 table’s had Aunt Memory as there server!

So our server noticed that we had a guest with an allergy and she said the Chef was doing his nut because he had 6 with allergies  ….not my problem I thought, I just want my DD to be safe!, anyway we order and wait and wait…..our girls are being entertained by Aunt Memory and her table’s, she is sooo funny :rotfl: 1 Pot roast arrives at our table and then our server arrives and say’s to me “what are you doing with that?”, well excuse me, anyway it disappears and still we wait, and our server tells us this is because the Chef now has 8 allergies to deal with!!, so after almost an hour our food arrives…2 pot roasts, half of it's warm and the other half cool, Dad asked for a medium steak, well it’s charred! so we send that back and he is offered a pot roast instead, well he was starving so wasn’t go to argue.

I felt so sorry for the girls they spent most of the evening watching the other children having lot’s of fun, and I had to keep asking them to turn around and eat their meal! Anyway enough for me I head over to speak to the manager, and I’m soo annoyed I can feel myself getting upset:sad1: …..focus, focus!, well he was lovely and sooo apologetic, asking what he could do to make things better, I didn’t want a freebie I was just so disappointed, my eldest DD who has the nut allergy kept saying it was all her fault and she was sorry! :lovestruc

After a long discussion with the Manager, who by this time was offering our family all sorts, we eventually left with complimentary milkshake's and a reduced bill

We decide to stay for Fantasmic, which as ever was fantastic!
Both girls fall asleep in the car and we’re all in bed just after 9pm

Karen, I'm glad that most of the day was a success for you, but sorry to hear that the dinner you'd been looking forward to let you down. It must be very difficult for you to watch out for your daughter's allergy. Peanuts are everywhere in US food. Peanuts and peanut butter are pretty easy to spot, but lots of things here are prepared with peanut oil and of course, that's not so easy to spot. Sounds like you have it under control though. Good luck on future trips and thanks for your report of this one.

Shame about the bad meal Karen - 50's Prime Time seems to be one of those hit or miss places where people either have a really good time or a really bad time. :(

I love those moments where you think - "That's my trip report title". :rotfl:

My friend's daughter has a peanut allergy. It makes me  when she is made to feel like a nuisance by insensitive people. Sorry that your meal was a disappointment.

This was the only place in WDW that we had a problem :confused3
But it was the attitude of the staff that made it worse for us :headache:
I know people can elaborate with Allergies, but she had a life threatening episode in Oct 2008, so we are very protective over her :lovestruc

I know, they are cheeky little madam's really :rotfl:

Shame about the meal, we had grump servers at CRT and Afternoon Tea at the GF a few weeks ago.

Glad you had a nice day but feel so mad with that server you had at that restaurant, no need to be like that at all. I also felt for your daughter with her thinking it was her fault when it wasn't.

Karen you have no need to apologise nor explain your protective instinct for your DD

Apart from this episode your day sounded great. I am another who loves it when a theme just picks itself for the report title :lmao: ;)

We were really disappointed with prime time last year, no interaction at all from the server.
Lovibg the trip report anyway.

such a shame that your dd blames herself for that awful meal. It must be tough enough to monitor her food without the unhelpful waitress. I wonder how many allergies the chef CAN cope with in 1 shift.

Good trippie so far - but a shame about your dining experience.
It always amazes me how there seem to be the servers who are fantastic at interaction and the ones who just see the customers as an inconvenience - yet they generally get the same tip.
I think the managers should take the time to remind their staff - on a daily basis if necessary - that even though it is another work day for them, it is one of the highlights of their customers vacation - that has, in some cases, been years in the making.

Looking forward to the next part.

waiting to see if your mum will go back on test track!!

I'm back Karen and ready to catch up with your trippie :thumbsup2.
Now i know where you got your title from,i always try and look out for them.
Such a lovely day,but ruined by someone who could'nt be bothered with her job role amongst other things :sad2:.Glad it was sorted though, but still a shame.
I always went on holiday with my Nan+Grandad, and would love for them to come with us one day with the girls to Florida, but i know that would not happen now :sad2:.You all sound like your having a lovely time together, and i bet your parents loved to see your girls faces with 'all things Disney'.
Off to read the rest now, keep up the good work :thumbsup2.x.
