My granddaughters, the ones in the video, are over with Vickie and me helping to vote. Sorry I've been missing lately, but work has been hard - 3 days to go, then Tues Wed off. I did get a nice story in a weekly Bremerton paper today.

Ok all.....the Fleagles are pooped. Turning out the lights tonight. Beautiful day but soooooo tired. Dawson (our 2 year old) was wearing a shirt today that says,

"My parents are exhausted"

ok, so i'm sorry that i'm totally manipulating the thread right now. i just wanted to say that i hate that anyone has been disappointed in this contest. i realize that i have a 90% chance of feeling that same disappointment in the next few weeks.

this may sound empty, but i truly understand how you all feel. my job requires me to constantly build up my hopes and have them torn down. i think that the statistic of an actor is that you have to go on 20 auditions to yield one job. i've lost several "dream roles" in shows to friends. i've ALWAYS wanted to play belle (she's my favorite), and i've lost the role TWICE!! the first time around, i was cast as babette (the feather duster), and the second time i was told that i wouldn't play belle because i wasn't graceful enough. ouch. my husband's former grad school professor (and one-time imagineer) once said something that really stuck with me while i was devastated about belle. he said that he believes that sometimes brick walls are put in our life to show us how bad we want something. it helped me realize that i'd rather be super-passionate about something and not get it than walk through life with apathy. plus, it just motivates me to work HARDER to get belle next time--in my case, this meant joining an adult beginner ballet class...

gosh, if i fail in the next few weeks, please remind me of this post....

Well, I can only imagine how hard those times are--BUT you are still pursuing your dreams, and doing all you can to help fulfill them! Just taking that step is HUGE, and to me, counts as everything! I know you'll be Belle someday, simply because it's so strong in your heart to do so! Don't you dare give up--on anything! Magic is real and it thrives when people dream!

Yeah, from the moment I started watching the hundreds of videos posted on the dreamcmo site, I was hooked. ('Never did manage to see them all, but I do think I covered a good bit of ground... )

Meeting such a great, Disney-obsessed group of people on this thread was icing! It has been a fun journey!

Meggin, I believe in you! (No pun intended on "I believe.") Becoming CMO just might make up for all those lost Belles.

I believe, I found my window once I realized I wasn't in the Top 10. Aside from loving all things Disney, I really enjoy writing commercials (like the CMO video) and making videos. Successful people in life seem to pick themselves up quickly after failure and move right on to something else. They may have more failures, but they definitely have more successes!
Anyhow, I created another video. This one helped me to keep on going. The commercial is for Heinz ketchup. Feel free to leave me any good, bad, and ugly feedback. I realize that the only way I can improve is to learn from myself and others! Anyone can check it out here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=EdHENl7lw9o . I'll let everyone know if I make the top 10 for that!
(My CMO video is also still there too.)

P.S. Much has been going on since the Top 10 were announced on DIS. I've tried my best to keep up, but as we all know, it's tough! I also have a lot of graduate work to do now too, but I'll be in and out when I can! Take care all!

Hey, "I believe": I failed to mention earlier that I really enjoyed reading your story, too!

And, I'm also a super-huge fan of your suggestion -- made in the "Adventures of the 'Moms' Panel" thread -- of adding a blogspot (or regular favorite-Disney-memory storytelling contest? ) to the Moms Panel site. Who knows? Maybe the new Mickey Moms Club will become the proper venue. ... Now, if only we could persuade those Disney executives to listen!
