Here's a funny story that just happened to me.

My phone just rang, caller id says UPS. The employee on the other end says he's calling because he's very embarrassed. He has a two day express letter for me that was mailed a couple of months ago and got put into another package and put in a warehouse by mistake!!

Well can you guess what I was thinking!!! My heart started pounding faster, I was having a hot flash - I just KNEW that was my CMO letter. I was one of the 20 finalists and they just couldn't get a hold of me!!!!

No matter that the 20 finalists were not contacted by mail first!! For me, all of my other contact information was not working and they were trying to contact me by mail!!!!

Okay, yes, I'm pathetic. He told me it was a letter from Zazzle where I ordered my Christmas cards (which never showed up).

Somehow even a month later, somewhere deep inside I still can't accept that I didn't make it through!!

Aw....that's not pathetic....it's completely understandable.
When Eric was waiting for that top 10 "package" I was at home and on the lookout every day for a week for UPS, DHL, FedEx or even the mailman to deliver that non-existent bundle of good news. I heard EVERY car door shut, EVERY car or truck drive up and down the street, and if a dog barked anywhere I just knew it was because the delivery man was coming up the driveway!

I must admit that even now I still get a rush of adrenalin when the doorbell rings. Caller ID Out of Area? Yep, that's them too! I guess that's part of that grieving process Eric somewhat joked about in his blog. Apparently I'm still in the denial phase.

I feel for you and how you must have had your hopes up.....again!
On the positive note: At least you know what happened to your Christmas cards.

I don't know. It depends on what it is. Last time I knew I didn't have anything good to enter for the dream jobs, so I didn't. This time I thought I hit on a great idea (making my video dialogue entirely of Disney quotes if you didn't see it), and I thought I was the demographic they were looking for, so I got my hopes up. Too much...

On the positive note: At least you know what happened to your Christmas cards.

Ummmmmmm, EVERY single time I get the Disney Insider email, and I mean EVERY time, I go through the same process of excitement (read denial) that "they" finally found me! (really )

Of course! We're ALL friends here! We'd love to have you.....and there are plenty of chairs. As mom, I never really get to SIT and eat anyway. I'm always, serving seconds, wiping mouths, pouring juice, changing diapers....

thanks so much!! even though i'm not a mom, i can help with the child-wrangling and the clean-up. i work at a kiddie gym in the mornings, so i've had plenty of experience with thrown food, cleaning supplies and disinfectant.

Well, I really admire you guys for entering and getting through it all. I hope too that you don't regret it, because a lot of fun and good things have come from it...I think there will be more too! I know you didn't enter Mrs. Fleagle, but in a way you did!

I surprised myself on the top 10 day! It was hard! I had to be out of town just for the day, but no time/access to my computer! ALL day my mind was on this--SO hoping that people would make it and get that package/call! Even the people I was working with commented on how quiet I was. Just couldn't help it!

I think it's been a great experience though, and I can't wait to see all that comes next--not just this contest, but everything! And that's an exciting thought!

I laughed so hard last night (when here as usual)......I was lamenting about what I would do with my time when this contest is over and that I needed to remind myself that I didn't even make Top 20 and I spend too much time on a contest I lost almost before it started!!

Well, Tothesea responded that she didn't even enter! That just struck me as so funny that here she is soooo supportive and a fellow CMO thread obsessed person and all! When she wrote that it made my night!

CM good story
Just like Calliaz, I don't have any specific CM stories where someone did something extra-ordinary for us...however, over the 30 years I went, they have been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

This past Sept trip we noticed that the CM really made my DD's day by calling her a princess and giving her stickers! These little things are great!

I also made a sign to hang up on our door of the BCV for folks to sign and both the Maid and Manager left us a note with a Disney pin (one Jasmine, one Tinkerbell). This was a nice surprise!

CM bad story
The guy at Buzz Lightyear who wouldn't let me get out of line (we were ready to board our car) to change my DD's EXPLODED diaper and get back in using a Fastpass/back entrance so we didn't have to wait in the regular line twice. This was a time when I would have highly appreciated (and yes expected) some accommodation -- I'm sure those around us would have liked it too! Her diaper was pungeant!

gosh, i'm sorry to hear about the diaper story!! i can't believe he wouldn't help you out--if any of his supervisors had seen it, they should have done something to help you!!

i love that the maid and manager left you pins--that's neat!
