Southwest is $59 one way from Columbus to Orlando in June. I like those kind of fares. :)

Off to find a deal on car rental....

That deal is hard to beat!! It might be worth the two hour drive for that kind of an airfare. :)

Congratulations!!

I am hoping to see that soon for some late July flights.....i keep wishing and praying...i caught that deal for the last 3 years, and hoping my luck hasnt run out!!

Come on Southwest!! :worship:

Curious to see what October brings us. Will find out on 3/23

The fare is worth a two hour drive to us. Cleve is much closer (30 mins away) but with prices over $300 rt, the drive is well worth it.

:cool1: Cool! Congratulations!

Scoring a $59 rate would be enough to make me stop looking daily and throughout the day as I do now. I need to lower my anxiety over this trip so come ooooon Southwest. I've gotten my flight down to $67...but yes, I'm greedy. My goal is to also score $59 ultimately. :thumbsup2 We go the end of June so I remain hopeful.

I got my flight down for $77, its the flight back that killed me, it was like $125.

That's my goal, too and they just aren't happening out of Baltimore! :confused3

Our return is a killer too.......$147 :headache: . That HAS to drop. I can't imagine the plane filling up quickly at that rate. So..........I stay hopeful...and patient  .

Not YET :rotfl: . Told ya......I'm hopeful.

Good luck to us all!

I'm from Cleveland too and that rate is tempting!

I booked down for $91, but haven't booked back yet since the flights haven't dropped lower than $134....and NO non-stops from Cleveland anymore.

So tell me, how big of a PITA is getting to CMH from here? What about parking? I generally get my parents to take us to the airport, but I've used one of the Parknfly's near hopkins before and it was painless. Hows the situation down there?

For that kind of savings...I'm seriously considering it. I can cancel my current CLE/MCO flight and rebook round trip for only about another $80 for 3 of us.

regards

Op here..we're from Cleveland too...Lorain County. The trip down is about 2.5 hours. The airport is smaller than Cleveland, so easier security. They have onsite parking for around $7 day or a couple off site places for less. I'm still figuring that part out for our trip. Southwest has 3 nonstops a day to Orlando, 8:50 am, 12:15, and 6 pm.

I think it's worth the drive. With kids I only like nonstops and $374 on Continental is a bit much. :)

Airfares from CLE to MCO have been nuts.

My husband asked me if I was insane to even think about passing that up! So I went ahead and booked from CMH. They have had such better deals. Continental wasn't budging from ~ $300, but from CMH connection THROUGH CLE = $98 RT. Why can't we just skip the first flight? LOL I'd rather have a non-stop too, but have dealt with connections for the right price. My kids are older (10) so I can make them run! :rotfl:

They only had the later 615 flight (nonstop) left for $59 so I took that. I like getting in earlier, but since I saved over $200.....we'll just stay an extra night. :thumbsup2 I can always check again if an earlier flight opens up. That is the one thing I do like about SW. I can change my mind too many times as a vacation approaches.

Thanks for the tip about the price. I don't mind the drive part and I guess we'll figure out the parking. So it's more like Akron/Canton? I'll love that part. Small airports rock! There you really only need 60 minutes. Would that be similar? Though I'll probably be earlier to allow time for finding the airport.

FYI, I do not think my return dropped much if at all. I booked it right when the flights went up and monitored it the whole tim the wanna-get-away fares were up. Thats how they hook ya, give you a cheap flight down, they know we have to come back home!

The airport is like Akron. And we once flew Continental from Akron, connecting in Cle to Orlando. It was cheaper than originating in Cle. Makes no sense. The best part, coming home there was delay from Cle to Akron. They offered us a car to drive home. We just waited...the time for arrival was about the same at that point.

Let's hope for $59 flights in October!! :cool1:
