CM perks?

My dh insisted the bb couldn't be silenced for new emails. I banned it from the bedroom. He quickly figured out how to silence it. ;)

i was referring to the a manager that was about to go into forclosure, and she was working double titles without the pay. When the CEO came along for the ride... He was oblivious to the pay rate of people below him. And didn't even know how much she worked and still couldn't make ends meet.

It makes me sick to see that. My aunt is a good example. She was the person in charge of the whole company, everything went through her. And was only below the owner and his two sons. They weren't the ones working 60hrs a week, or working 72hrs straight when the computer crashes.

Sure he's the owner, but his employees that are busting butts to make the company work, i don't feel, are compensated adequatly to make a decent living.

I know managers get to drag their blackberries every where. But i know of few stories about them glued to a BB for socializing.
It's never been a position i'd ever want to be in. I don't want the responsibility, the hassle, the overworked, the blackberry.

And that is fine. It takes all kinds of workers to make a world. Just don't say all CEO's are overpaid and they won't say you are lazy. It all works just fine that way.:)

The "benefit" of a BlackBerry is world's longest leash that follws you everywhere.

Yes, it's a nice toy but the responsibility that comes with it can be immense. This applies to the webmaster, lead CSR, food manager or CEO. It's like kids ... 24/7/365. You are never "off the clock".

I've met Eisner and worked along side him for a bit *years* ago - no big whoop.

Uhm...good for you???

Gotta love the ridiculous comments some posters make just to watch themselves post. Gotta get that attention somehow, dontcha?

xoprincess,

your Gonzo/Animal pic makes me think of "Fear and Loathing"!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I love it!!

Many CEOs work near constant hours. My husband one heard a story about his CEO and a meeting one of the higher ups in DH deptment were in. It was a conference call. The CEO was in CA on a business trip. The call was 7am eastern time. The CEO was conducting a business meeting at 4am while running on a treadmill. Also where DH works the next level up from him to not receive vacation time. They are allowed to take time as long as it is okay from a business needs standpoint they just aren't given a specific number of days. Which will totally suck when DH get promoted because right now I can barely get him to take an entire week off at a time. I would love a 2 week vacation.

It is not always over compensation. However, it does occur and is a way longer discussion. There is something to be said about soul crushing triple digit loans of graduate education, especially fresh out the gate.
