Has anyone used the sideloading CM pages? I know they're fairly new, but until last weekend, I hadn't been to a crop for so long, I don't know how new they are.

Thoughts? I'm thinking they would be great for our next WDW trip album. I'm not sure thought, because I do use the white CM page for some of my LO's.
Anyone?????

Thanks! Steph

I'm glad you posted this, because I wanted to get some feedback too. I ordered some and just got them. I do a lot of digital LOs, so I was excited to use them for my albums... I can slip in 12 x12 page prints but I can also incorporate in memorabilia and some traditional LOs too. I have to admit that I am a little unsure about them. They seem flimsy compared to the regular pages. They are basically just the page protector type of material sealed on three sides with a thin white piece or cardstock inside. I think they will probably work ok for my 12 x 12 page prints, but I can't imagine using them for anything with much more bulk. I will probably use them for my digital prints and then use the regular album pages for my regular LOs and memorabilia... Maybe someone else has been using them and has more to add?

Here is what I think - for what it is worth...

I only use CM albums - so unless I am going to do a bound storybook - I will always use CM albums. The new sleeves seemed like a great solution but I don't like the fact that there is no jeeping on the outside edge of the page. My plan is to just use the True 12 x 12 pages and mount the digital pages or use the Picfolio Max for smaller projects. i am still putting memorabelia in my albums too - so they are still semi hybrid. My true motivation is the lack of jeeping and the cost. The new sleeves are $25 for 15 and pages are still $17.00 for 15 pages. Even with the cost of adhesive - it is still more expensive. Even though there is the CM guarantee - I am not confident that the new sleeves will withstand years of page turning.

I appreciate your thoughts Jennifer! I also use only CM albums. I thought about the cost, but since the protectors are $8 a package for the regular ones, it works out the same.

My problem is that my albums are all chronological, and I intend to keep them that way. However, it is very hard to scrap chronologically because I run into pictures that I'm motivated to do, and then some that just don't jump out at me right at the moment. I was thinking with the side-loading pages, I could just scrap however and then move them around. It's harder with the regular CM pages because I'm never sure how many to leave in between, and I'm 2-3 years behind in my family album. Sometimes I wallpaper the CM page, sometime I use the white page, which makes it even trickier to work out of order.

I was hoping you'd chime in.... I always value your opinion. I'm going to stick to the true 12 x 12 pages and mount my digital pages as well.... I'm just not thrilled with the quality of the new sleeves, and I LOVE CMs regular pages and just can't bring myself to switch over. I have a feeling they are not going to get a lot of positive feedback regarding these new pages, and maybe they will modify them down the road... I do get where the poster is coming from though.... it would be nice to be able to change up the order of pages, and once you mount, you are kind of stuck....

I got a call today from a bunch of consultants that were doing their Croptoberfest. They asked me to write corporate and tell them they had ripped half of the sleeves that they tried to assemble.

In reality - they had not ripped them - but they did not realized that the notch at the top near the jeeping is there on purpose :)

Just a thought in case anyone thinks they have defective sleeves or thinks that they ripped them!!

Yep -- that's what I thought when I opened mine... then I figured the notch must be there for a reason since it was the same on every page....Mine actually have the notches at both the top and the bottom.... Seems kind of weird - like the sleeve will rip easily if it gets tugged....

My Mom just used these side loading sleeves at my last crop. She had a top loading album from long ago that feel apart. She got the side loading sleeves to put in the new CM Disney coverset. Her layouts were on both sides of one page and the side loading sleeves accomodated that nicely. If she used regular CM pages, she would have lost one side of the page.

Thanks girls! I appreciate all the thoughts and help. I think I might try them for my next WDW album and see how it goes. If I really don't like them, I can use them for storing pages that are finished but I don't know where they'll go in the album, if that makes sense.

Makes sense! :) Let us know how they work for you once you get them all in an album..... CM's stuff is usually top notch, so they may work out just great..... then I may convert . :)

I'm a CM consultant and just started a new album this weekend using the sideloading pages. At 1st I wasn't sure about the pages, they seemed a bit flimsy, however once I got papers into the pages they seemed fine. The notches should be both top and bottom and are there for ease of page loading.

So, I'm going to continue using them in this album and see how it goes. If I don't like them when I'm finished i can always mount the pages onto traditional pages.

Thanks Noahsmom! Please post back what you think of them after awhile, especially if you change your mind.

I haven't been a huge fan of the side loading sleeves - but today - they made me really happy! I had several coversets that were the old CM size (not true 12 x 12) and the side loading sleeves fit nicely in them without sticking out because they are missed the jeeping on the outer edge. I was going to sell the coversets because I went digital - but now I can use them with these sleeves! I filled 25 sleeves today and I will let you know how they hold up. Since I am a CMC - they will be looked at a lot during the next two months during my crops and my open house - we will see how they withstand the page turning.

Ooh -- that's good to know -- my girlfriend and I were wondeirng about that -- we have several unused older coversets.... We kind of put the sleeves in (but didn't take the coverset apart and attach them), and it sort of looked like the corners would stick out beyond the coversets... I was afraid they might get smashed -- but you are feeling like that isn't going to be a problem? I'd be thrilled to be able to make use of my old coversets....

I pulled it off the shelf to check the corners and I pulled it really tight too - the corners stick out a tiny tiny bit - but I think it will be fine if you are careful when you are sliding it into a shelf. since the height of both albums is the same - I think they should be fine.

One thing I noticed today about the side loading pages that I really like is that the pages seem to lay flatter when the book is open. It looks nicer to me.

Does anyone know why they decided to do side loading instead of top loading? They could have used the same concept, but instead of sliding it in from the side, itw ould go in from the top (like most post bound albulms). I'm just wondering if the pages will start falling out the front of the sideloading page. Make sense?

These side loading pages load from the bound side of the album, not the outside edge. There's virtually no way for pages to fall out because when the album is closed the open edge is at the bind. CM feels that top loading pages allow dust and other particles in even when the album is closed on a shelf.

I only have 1 top loading album all my others are CM traditional albums. There is one page in my top load that has thicker embellishments, when I heard this explanation I went home and checked this page. Sure enough the top of the embellishment had dust!

I hadn't seen them yet. And that makes sense. I'm much more interested in using this type of page now. Thank you
