We have reservations for July 21 for lunch. Our reservation says that we can wear jean shorts as long as they are knee length although we probably will wear a nice pair of khaki shorts if any.

What type of shoes are allowed? I just says shoes are required but doesn't specify what type...I understand no flip flops are allowed so I was thinking some nice sandals.

Advice? We are planning on what we need to pack for this meal and want to make sure we dress accordingly.

You can wear a nice sandal or tennis shoes or dress shoes, it is up to you. Your best bet would be to ask your sponsor. I know some request a higher standard of dress.

I have be told think "business casual" as a minimum dress code. You will not be turned away unless you are wearing a tank top and flip flops, but they like to see a higher standard as I understand it. Shorts are perfectly acceptable at lunch on a hot day of you are in the park but think "dressy casual"...collared shirt tucked in for gents...I was told to imagine "golf dress" at a county club so I did not feel under dressed when I went for lunch. There were people in shorts an tee shirts and folks dressed to the hilt for lunch...I was comfortable right in between.

This. Can you get away with more casual dress? Sure. But this is Club 33, it's a very special experience and it's worth dressing for.

Thanks everyone.

That's what I was thinking... I am aiming for a nice skirt / shirt possibly summer dress type thing and my husband had planned on a nice collared polo type shirt and his khakis but he was unsure of his shoes. He has some nice shoes to take but was thinking why pack it if we don't need it.

I just don't want to feel underdressed and we definitely want to be a good example for our sponsor. I mean we will be staying right across the street so if we feel uncomfortable for the parks we can always go back and change again afterwards.

Our travel agent said she knew someone who was there at the same time as Gwen Stefani and that kind of raised my bar for attire lol.

When I went I wore a skirt, dressy top and flats. I brought flip flops in my purse to wear until we were going in and then when we were done, I changed back into flip flops. It worked out great. My husband did the same thing, but with tennis shoes/dress shoes. We rented a locker to put the dress shoes in after our lunch. It worked out great. You will have an amazing time! Have fun!

Due to foot issues, I wear "sneakers" everywhere, but I have a pair of all black, so they somewhat blend in with dressier outfits.

Here's my kids in their "lunch" outfits. We usually dial it up a notch or 2 for dinner. (Note it was winter in this pic.)

Thanks for the advice everyone...

My mission this weekend is to find something for us to wear as we will arrive next Wednesday..

Why not jazz it up a little bit since it is going to be my Birthday as well :)

Happy early Birthday!!party:

We are going to Club 33 in August! I found the cutest dress with the cutest shoes! Can't wait to go!!

Hope you have a fun and amazing time!!:cool1:

Just had lunch there, DD and I wore summer dresses, boys had on shirts with collars, but did wear khaki shorts. We had on nice dress sandals, boys all wore tennis shoes. I think it's more up to your sponsor because we were shock at how some people acted and what they wore.

It is rather sad, but there seems to be no dress code at lunch.

My advice to the OP: Dress up to make dining at the Club a special event :goodvibes

I wore a dress for lunch, and brought heels and nylons to change into just before our reservation time. DH and DS wore Dockers and nice shirts and nice, but comfy, shoes.

Is your birthday on 7/21? (I'm guessing so because of your screen name.) So is mine! :woohoo: :cool1::cool1: Moon Children unite!!!

I don't know what Gwen Stefani and her family wear to Club 33 but I saw them in California Adventure, in early December, last year and she was wearing gray slacks and a black tank top or sleeveless shirt. (She may have had a jacket stashed somewhere, or perhaps Club 33 lets her get away with a tank top because she's Gwen?:confused3) She also wore a cap. Her husband was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Her kids were dressed in shorts and/or general boy clothes. They were later spotted by another DIS'er in Disneyland, surrounded by security, and walking out of the POTC area. Maybe they ate at Club 33 while they were there?

The "tank top" rule slides around a bit. Sleeveless tops can be acceptable. Sun dresses are acceptable, as are strapless dresses. So, "tank tops" really depends on the version of tank top.

In this pic, my DIL is wearing a maxi dress.

There is a big difference between "sleeveless" and "tank tops" for women anyway...men, not so much!...there ain't no classy sleeveless dress for men!

I wore a comfortable but nice summer dress and dressy sandles. It was my first time in a dress at Disneyland for the day and it was perfect! I am really glad we dressed up for Club 33. It made it special and we wanted to show a lot of respect for our sponsor and for the Club.

Enjoy your visit! It's pretty wonderful :)

We went for lunch a few months ago. DD wore a cute knee-length sleeveless dress with a black shrug. I wore a black pair of pants and a lightweight dressy shirt. We'll be going to dinner on our next trip, and will probably step it up a bit.

I want one of those drinks! They look refreshing!

Yes, very true. Some tank tops are crossing the line! I wasn't even thinking about sundresses or strapless dresses. I forgot all about those. Of course those would probably be very commonly worn by women who eat at Club 33 during these hot months!

I didn't stare at Gwen Stefani closely or close-up enough to determine if she was wearing an actual black tank top or simply a black sleeveless blouse. Hmmm.... Now that I think back... She was walking back and forth between a First Aid place and her family when I saw them in DCA, and I actually think she may have had something (like a shirt) tied around her waist at one point, over the gray slacks. Maybe that was her go-to Club 33 arm cover up!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
