We are Gold members, 2025 was first year as part of Club runDisney and would like to upgrade to Platinum. What is a good strategy? What time do renewals open up? And do we each need to upgrade our accounts separate or can one get in and do both (like race registration)?

Platinum will have a week or two to renew first, then renewals will open for Gold. If there are Platinum spots open at that time, upgrades will be available first come, first served. So pay attention to any information the Club relays about when those renewal windows open and be online right when that happens.

I do not believe you can upgrade/renew both accounts at the same time, since you'd need to be logged in as the user account you're upgrading or renewing. Best option would be for both you and your wife to log in on different devices.

Aaargh. Gonna have to really weigh my options this year for some life things (mostly friend weddings). I wish we could pause memberships for a year without letting it go. I know that doesn't make sense from a capacity standpoint, but man. They know they have us and it's hard to leave.

Exactly. You have to weigh not just whether renewing is worth what you'll get that year, but if it's worth preserving the opportunity to continue your membership level in the future.

So I wanted the Goofy, which I ran this year, but had to settle for the half and the full separately. For people who were able to snag a challenge registration and convert individual races—how did you do it? Just register for challenge and then email RD?

For the 2024 Wine and Dine, my wife and I were originally only going to do the 5k and 10k, but during registration, I managed to get her signed up for both, then the 10k sold out and in my panic, registered myself for the 5k and the challenge, so that I too had the 10k. Then I logged into her account, in the registration was...

I would think you should be able to go in and look for an "upgrade" or something on your half registration--I know that's how it works normally for people that want to change from a single race to a challenge when they're available

I'll be renewing Platinum for the foreseeable future, unless they drastically cut benefits or raise the price. I really enjoy the low-stress registration and the single-location pickup and the early merch access. And I'll take advantage of the private character photo op and boosted corral placement as long as I'm at it.

Same--the single, low-wait expo stop is really handy. And I really like my corral boost

Most likely staying gold next week, I really enjoy the no stress registration. I have been debating if it’s worth it for 3 weekends a year. The odds of getting shut out of all when I only book challenges for myself is low but even once could be a hassle since we book DVC at 11 months and points can get tricky if we were to cancel. I like the early merch but only shop because I have it. My pros and cons list has me leaning towards keeping it another year and reassessing.
