Club Level Water ?

If the CMs give you a bottle of water to take back to your room, is it cold? Or would you need to put it in the fridge?

Would we be able to fill our water bottles in the morning for the parks with it or would we need to chill it first?

Thanks,
Maggie

we stayed at GF RPC last year and at our checkin the concierge rep told us not to hesitate to ask for water for our room, they would be happy to provide us bottles and we could just ask at the concierge desks and they actually had the bottles right there at their desk area in a fridge. So it is not rude and it is not an "unacceptable" practice is they are advocating for it as I can tell you first hand they did at GF....as for other club levels I can not say.

The water we got at the Poly was always cold.

These threads always crack me up! The OP comes on asking a simple question, which has a very straightforward answer, YES you can ask for water to bring back to your room, and it gets twisted into rude food hoarding people! I dont understand why people care about how much food other people are taking or eating....its quite amusing actually!

I totally agree. I gave the first response to the OP question and have been amazed that this thread keeps going. How asking for a bottle of water somehow is hoarding, somehow is taking away something so that others have to go without, is amazing to me. Now if someone walked in and took the whole tray of bagels in the morning and brought them back to the room, now that would be frowned upon. But asking for a bottle of water?

Some posters like to stir the pot. There is ONE person who keeps on calling it hoarding. This person is supposed to be at GF right now so why they are wasting their precious vacation time bikering on the DIS is beyond me. :confused3

The OP question has been asked and answered. If they chose to take the advice of the one lone poster who says it is not ok then so be it. Otherwise, like I did, call their IPO and get a straight answer.

In my families experience staying Club Level at the Contemporary and Polynesian, the Cast Members don't mind if you bring food back to your room if you don't want to eat it in the lounge.

At the BWI I took food back to our room for breakfast daily using the tray under the ice bucket. There is no kiddie seating area in the lounge and the lounge TV was always on CNN, my kids needed their Playhouse Disney fix in the mornings. :rotfl2: I didn't care one bit if guests shot me a "look" for taking food back to my room. My kids wanted to eat while watching their morning cartoons. I didn't hoard food, just got enough for the four of us.

As for the water, we use the DxDDP which offers each of us 2 snack credits per day which we use for bottled water. We try to stock up some days and store them in our fridge. The Smart Water in the parks are pretty large. Last June when we weren't on the DDP, I ordered a case of water and it was a life saver! Summer in WDW a case of water is a MUST! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't have hesitated to grab a bottle of water from the lounge, but DH doesn't care for Evian - he likes his Fiji water ;)

On a side note, I personally think the people who hoard food are those receiving a free upgrade. Those who pay for CL, tend to be more respectful.

I'm not happy hearing about all the rude people in the GF CL lounges not cleaning up after themselves and leaving dirty plates everywhere. That's just a courtesy to your fellow guests. :headache:

Maggie, the water will be cold, especially if you fill your water bottle first thing in the morning. I found that mid day the water wasn't as cold as in the morning. The water bottle would fit in the room fridge, I would grab one the night before and just put it in your fridge. The water is placed in a marble bottle holder (for a wine bottle) the marble keeps it cold.

OP - Yes, you absolutely CAN take the glass bottles of water back to your room. If any guests give you a "look" just slip on your :cool2:and know that you are doing nothing wrong :sad2:

Enjoy your trip! :wizard:

What a lovely assumption for you to make

You know what they say about assuming right?......

As someone who has been upgraded to CL 4 times I ask, what makes an "upgraded" person lower class? Because they didn't pay the same rate as the other guests on the Club Level they are assumed to hoard? I think that is an extremely unfair judgement.

In regards to the comments throughout this entire thread:

ANYONE is free to take bottles of water, cans of pop, snacks, food etc back to their room. I have stayed at BC, YC and WL CL and ALL the Cast Members at ALL the CL lounges encouraged guests to take what they would like.

What is the difference between pouring 6 glasses of water for your family IN the lounge and taking that very water bottle (that you would empty if you were drinking in the lounge) and bringing it back to your room.

What is the difference between getting a bowl of cereal and a side plate of pastries and sitting at a table in the lounge or taking those same items back to your room?

AND even if a guest IS hoarding, how does it affect you adversely? Cast Members are quick to replace and items that have been emptied. There is never a shortage of food at the CL. There are no signs or policies in place stipulating a limitation on how much of any given item you can take.

Threads like these, where a poster asks an innocent question and wants simple advice so often deteriorate into judgemental madness! :headache:

Are all the dirty plate leavers recipients of free upgrades, too?

I am interested in how one can evaluate which guests receive free upgrades. Do they melt into the crowd when they are not hoarding food or are there other telltales?

When the Cast Members at the Contemporary gave us the bottle it was warm because he took it from the storage room, so we had to put it in our mini fridge.

I'm entitled to my own opinion.

Those who pay for CL would never consider the food "free", it's all part of the hefty price tag of CL.

Excuse me but where exactly did I or the other poster say the food was "free"?

So you will be judgemental of those who are granted an upgrade because you are bitter that they did not pay for CL? That is an extremely unmagical perspective you've got going there.

Do you feel those who were upgraded aren't entitled to CL services? Do you feel they should have to wear special tags to identify themselves as "upgradees" :sad2:

You are most certainly entitled to your opinion, but CL services are meant for ALL patrons of the Club Level regardless of whether they paid to be there or not.

People like you infuriate me. Looking down on people who have been upgraded and feeling that you are entitled to better service or that you are more deserving because you paid rack rate or paid for CL. You are no more entitled to the food, drink, lounge, Cast Members or any other ammenity that comes with CL than the person a few rooms down from you that received a magical surprise upon check-in.

Thanks for the tip. Now we know it's the upgraded interlopers who are doing the hoarding. Who knew?!

Funny, we've been upgraded to CL once, and stayed numerous times when we booked it. I'm quite certain we did considerably more "hoarding" on those trips when we booked CL.

You see, when we book CL, we feel like we've paid a lot of money (too much money, really), so we're entitled to hoard to our heart's content. It's a particular delight to take food back to our room with the specific intent of throwing it away -- just so we can say we got our money's worth. Just kidding, of course, but you get the point.

The one time we were upgraded, we were very grateful for the unexpected gift and treated our hosts and other guests with the utmost respect. We didn't "hoard" at all. We felt that since we didn't pay for the privilege of CL, we should most definitely not abuse that privilege in any way.

Oh well . . . so much for the theory that it's the upgraded interlopers who are doing the hoarding!

I agree with you ElizabethB, if anything I was more respectful when upgraded.

I've seen my fair share of disrespectful guests in ALL Disney Resorts. I have seen people fill empty water bottles with soda, people cut in line at CS places, put out cigarette butts on the railings of the common walkways at CSR, take up 3 or 4 lounge chairs when there are only 2 guests etc...

Are these people upgradees too?

I don't feel that taking a bottle of water, cans of pop, cookies, snacks, food etc from the CL lounge is "rude." Those ammenities are part of CL and are available to all. If WDW didn't want food removed from the lounges they would have signs stating that. If they didn't want guests taking the glass bottles of water they would also have an official policy. Heck, when we were at WL a CM offered us a half bottle of wine! It was *OFFERED*!

It's funny but I'm sure we used less CL services when we were upgraded than when we book CL.

The reason is we already planned all our meals and had ADRs each night, and several breakfast planned using the DDP. Last July we received a magical upgrade and probably only used CL lounge for a few quick breakfasts, sodas, a few appetizers, and once in a while some wine, beer or dessert.

We'll probably use it a lot more this trip since we booked two weeks CL at BC. Of course since we booked a deluxe room we'll be on a different floor and people will probably think DH or I are "hoarders" when we take a tray back to the room for all 5 of us. Oh well who cares. I know I'm not a hoarder and if anyone is staying at BC CL June 28-July 12 and sees a small, blonde woman carrying trays to the elevator it will be me -not a hoarder, or worse yet a CL lounger infiltrator! Please remember that the BC deluxe rooms and suites are on different floors but do have CL privileges.

Excuse me but what is your problem?
I'm at the grand Floridian and I even met a very nice DISser.

If I'm on the internet while I'm on vacation that's my choice. Nothing for you to get worked up about.

BTW we saw people stealing/ hoarding cups, spoons and other stuff out of the lockers under the food counters. and not the plastic stuff but the real silverware and the big porcelain coffee cups. We cough them around twelve o' clock when we returned from our dinner at Victoria and Alberts. And no we did not sneak up on them. We have the first room next to the food counters so we had to pass them.

I guess that's also okay because they payed a lot for the room.
There was no CM at the lobby desk. What sad people are there around.

While I agree what those people did was 100% wrong, you can not compare it to taking food and water bottles back to your room. The reason I say that is because during the operating hours for the food service the food and drinks are available for taking since the Cast Members put out all those items.

Seriously? :rolleyes1

You did not "sneak up on them"??? What? Are the the Club Lounge Police? Yes, I got that your at the GF. You already said so. You also stated that it was rude to ask for a bottle of water. We are all just disputing your statement.

Would you just go enjoy your vacation already and get over what other people are doing.

Geesh :headache:

STEALING? So you saw these people putting coffee mugs and silverware into their luggage, checking out and leaving the GF?

Otherwise, they were taking silverware and china to use in their room. I see nothing wrong with that and find it outlandish that you accuse them of stealing.

Lovely that you didn't "sneak up on them." When I'm at WDW and I see guests like you I remind myself of some words of wisdom from Thumper's mom....

"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." :sad2:
