Club level food question

Wow. That’s very disappointing that they would treat a guest that way. You are paying just like everyone else. Hopefully they won’t have something to say to my son if he takes a few items from tray.
Ugh, don't get me started on the Poly lounge. There is never enough seating, and whenever we got there the food had run out and was never restocked. We had a great experience at the Grand Floridian though.

For the snacks, unless you are there during the specially designated happy hour in the evening, there really is not much at the lounge. Pretzles and cookies types of things. So if you try to go at say 3pm there won't be much.

Sorry if I missed it, but which hotel are you staying at? I ask because we have tried club level at AK, Poly, BC, and YC and the only one I thought had remotely adequate food was AK. Breakfast is at least decent at all of them but afternoon and evening food was mediocre and scant at Poly, BC, YC, in my opinion.

Maybe YC has changed since you visited. In January they used full sized plates at app hour and there was always a lot of food out.

Great to know - yes, our last YC CL stay was 2017. We had several disappointing BC/YC CL stays between 2014-2017 and I swore off CL there but perhaps we should give it another try.

funny story: we stayed at GF in club level and i felt like some people were a bit..uppity. we didn’t let it keep us from enjoying ourselves.

after a couple days of polished politeness, the appetizer was the disney holy grail of snacks. and that polish disappeared faster than you can say “corn dog nuggets.” adults in business casual were honestly swarming staff as they left the kitchen with trays.

now i wouldn’t suggest swarming the staff or clearing whole trays of items or anything, but i think as long as you’re being reasonable, you should enjoy what you’re paying for! if anyone is bothering to look down on you or your kid for eating, they’re the ones losing out on vacation time.

Unlike others, we got tired after a couple of days with the "continental" breakfast offerings, yes you can fill up on danishes, bagels etc. but our family really wanted eggs, bacon and for our DDs, the mighty Mickey waffles:) Over the years they have cut the size of the glasses and plates pretty much in half to try and reduce people from taking a lot, which I find ridiculous based on what they charge.
Don't know the last time you stayed CL but they have eggs now, thought it was standard but maybe not. No waffles but we aren't fans (shockers I guess) so never missed them. Glasses are full size so I'm confused by that and plates vary depending on meal but they have both full size and what I call a salad plate. No bacon but they have meat. It's no longer "continental" breakfasts.

I have a teen, a pre-teen, and a younger kiddo who unfortunately got my impulsive eating tendencies.
For all of them. th eCL breakfast offerings would be enough. I would however recomend that your son take several trips. The only time I noticed anyone looking twice was when the most popular item was replenished and gone 2 people later because they took all of them. Enjoy your CL stay!

You'll be fine at WL. I like the way their lounge is set up. As others said, check for the schedule of times food is out, which they will post in the hall. If you need something then, ask a CM - CMs at WL are top notch. You picked a good one. We usually get a plate, but go back and forth getting more of what needed. You can be in and out grabbing whatever you need all day! Watch fireworks on balcony, or way down back hall is an area. The appetizer portion hot stuff leans toward the theme of resort. Also, try their specialty beers or their beer on tap.

We will be at Wilderness Lodge. Yes I saw some videos and it seems breakfast may be good for him but the evening selection may be a good first course before dinner. He’s thinking of going there and eating apps while I get ready in the room for dinner plans.

Breakfast should be a meal if you all are not looking for freshly cooked eggs and bacon. The appetizers in teh late afternoon woudl not be enough to sustain my family for their eveing meal, however they sure did reduce our bill at dinnertime because we did nto need to order apps.

My husband staged a mutiny after about 3 days because he said I was starving him at breakfast, so if your teen needs more than is offered he many need CS as well.

To be honest, CL is not a value if you just wnat the food. You can buy a lot of meals and extras for what you pay fo rthat level of stay, however it is a good way to expand your space and to have some personalized treatment. Those folks are really good at what they do. We liked the lounge area as a place to congregate in teh morning, and to relax in the afternoon whiel the rest of the family was getting ready, and then for an evening nightcap at teh end of the day. Our teen loved it.

Just a reminder , you can get food from qs and add to lounge offerings,

You can take stuff with you to park in your bag or back to the room.

I have a friend that gets room service delivered to the 5th floor of gf rpc.

You are on vacation, make the most of it. Time flies!

A few years ago and all they had was rubbery hard boiled eggs. So they have scrambled eggs now?

Still hard-boiled but not rubbery that I've had, (as in, overcooked I guess you mean?) Plus, poached, deviled. Quiche. Varies. BWI does omelets on Sundays.
We had 3 straight days of hard boiled:( For the cost, they should always have an omelet station at breakfast.

Personally, I prefer the changing options each day.
Omelet on Sunday
Poached eggs another day (which are in individual ramekins with various flavors added)
Quiches another day
Deviled another day
ETC
I don't want the same things each day

We are at Wilderness Lodge.

Just another comment ... the amount of food out depends on the time of day. It doesn't go from their full breakfast offering straight to their full noonish time offering to supper to late night snack ... there are breaks in between each of the "main" offerings where there isn't usually much out (I have found this does vary from resort to resort on how much). So depending on your touring schedule you may hit the lounge at in between times when there is not enough out to make a meal.
Thanks! We have a bunch of days we are just hanging at the resort so we can just plan to go when the best times are.
