Thanks in advance everyone!

Does anyone have any experience in making Intrawest reservations? If so, how difficult is it to make reservations at the Intrawest resorts? How has availability been?

Great question! I never see anybody talking about Club Intrawest trades here.:confused3

I have often wondered about how hard it is to get the Zihuatanejo Resort in MX over spring break....it looks really nice on the website...but the studios only sleep 2 so we'd have to get a one bedroom... I've also wondered about the diff. seasons down there... Summer is their "value" season & I'm wondering if it would be like when we did our MX Riviera DCL (rainy season). :confused3

I also wondered about the availability of the Palm Desert Resort over spring break time...but then someone told me that is NOT the time to go there 'cuz it's packed with college kids?! Anybody have any experience with that?!

I have traded out to CI via DVC before.

It was very easy.

Because I was booking less than a full week, I could only book 4 months in advance. You can book earlier if booking a full week.

I called MS and gave them my dates and they checked availability. The process is manual at this point. I called in January and they had info that was updated in Dec. I don't know how often they get updates.

I found some dates that I wanted and booked.

We stayed at SanDestin.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I don't think CI is that difficult other than HI and ski time/locations. 6 days or more will be easier due to the fact you can book earlier (76 months out) and are competing against a smaller group of people. OTOH, it is certainly going to be more difficult than DVC overall due to the inherent nature of their system but it WILL vary dramatically based on location, unit type and time of year. They have some nice resorts and the points costs are especially out of line so it can be a good choice for some. One of the good points is it's a direct booking rather than a wait list.

When I called about a month ago, the CM told me that the CI resort I wanted had not renewed their contract yet. :confused3 I guess each resort renews on their own.

That is strange since the CI resorts are all part of the whole.

For example, if you own DVC you have a partial ownership in a specific unit at a specific resort. If you own CI, you are a partial ownership at ALL of the CI properties.

Having said that, they do have relationships with Hilton Grand Vacation Club, I don't recall the details, but it is more than just a reciprocal relationship.

The resort you called about may have been one of the others.
