So my closing needs to be scheduled. What actually happens during that scheduled time? If I've already signed all the documents and wired the money, am I even involved in a closing activity? My only point of comparison is to buying a house where everyone is present and signing documents and money is exchanged.

No, nothing else happens on your end if you’ve signed the documents and wired money. You’ll just get a notification that the closing has happened. Mind happened a day after all documents and funds were sent.

I have bought resale more times than I should admit. I’ve never scheduled a closing. I’ve done international seller, Hawaii purchase and normal WDW us seller. Never scheduled a closing.

If they have your docs and money they will process it and submit the deed to the county.

Finally got news my sellers (the one who may or may not be in jail) are doing their notarization tomorrow! I'm very happy since my husband kinda freaked out that I did the wire transfer before they had signed the documents.

Day 19 since the deed was recorded is coming to a close. I'm getting pretty antsy to get those points. Has anyone had their contract show up this week?

I got the email from DVC saying my contract had been finalized and the email with the activation code this afternoon. I have not received my club ID yet. How long has the club ID email been taking recently? I saw some older threads where it did not come in at all suggesting to call.

The email with the club ID came in within a few hours of me asking this question and about 8 hours after the other emails in case anyone else wants a data point while they are waiting.

Intellectually, I know this was a pretty quick turnaround. The only "delay" was that it took about 10 days for the sellers to return their closing documents. The title company was quick and responsive. Emotionally, I cannot believe this was less than two months. I'm still waiting on our second contract to show up in our account. I am hoping it does so no later than next week sometime.

We're new members as well and our resale deed was recorded on June 26 for our Poly contract. I know it hasn't been quite three weeks but I see here some new members have received their activation email and ID already! Patiently waiting

Thank you for pointing that out! I didn't put in the correct ROFR passing date. I've since updated it. It was May 22. But yes, closing took a bit longer since sellers were from the UK. Wondering if that has something to do with it.

I assumed the ROFR was a typo, otherwise they closed and recorded deed before rofr was waived

The most tedious and overkill part of this whole journey for me is that it takes around another month after you close and pay to receive points in your account. That just seems so unnecessary.

I swear when I bought last year that part was sooo much quicker…like days instead of weeks.

Comparing our closing date to yours (we closed on 6/26), I'm keeping my fingers crossed we're about a week away from ours showing up!
