So today is a 1week since we passed ROFR and we still don’t have closing docs from Mason. I really wish cammy would have stayed one more month.
Just received this email today. Seems like Mason is now not much better than the rest.

I wanted you to be aware of the next step in the process. You should be receiving final closing docs from the title company within the next 2 weeks. Please be on the lookout for those, the faster you are able to get them signed and returned to the title company, the faster we can close!

We recorded 5/2 and got the first email with activation code on 5/22. Others that recorded that day are still waiting.

I reached out again related to Cammie leaving and determining point of contact. Sellers have not responded to multiple emails from Mason. Fidelity reaching out to determine status. I said the same thing…..it would make me feel better if they could share the appt date. Well now I don’t even know if they are moving forward.

Interesting - we passed ROFR the Friday before you on 4/28 but don't have anything just yet. Like you I had given up hope on the closing docs coming this week before we go on vacation but now maybe there is the tiniest sliver of hope!
What bugs me more than anything is that their website makes claims about "the fastest closings" so that you can begin planning your Disney adventure (see link). It's a little grating given the reality of the situation.

Finally got in touch with the sellers. Said they are having difficulty finding a second witness. If they couldn’t find someone by the end of the week the liaison was to help find someone…….that was 10 days ago……

I have - they just say there's been a surge in sales and contracts passing ROFR and they are working hard to stay on track. My guess is they have to prioritize based on closing dates in the contracts - in the end it is fine and I'm sympathetic to the unusual circumstances. With no ROFR activity and I assume a surge in sales as pricing has dropped so much I'm sure it has created an overwhelming situation for them.

On the other hand, when you promise the fastest closing and getting people their points faster than the competition, it feels like there are things they could have done to deliver on that promise (i.e. sending some of the surge of contracts to another title company to alleviate the crunch). But all this will pass, and in the end it will work out - just frustrating because I think had I insisted on a different title company we'd be closed already. As it stands I'm not confident I'll have the points in my account by early July when I was hoping to make a booking.

I find it funny that the title company on this thread that consistently has the slowest turn around time for documents would make a claim about speed. We used them for our closing and had no issues but the timeline was almost 30 days after passing ROFR.

I think the first email I received from or my broker said expect 30 BUSINESS days for closing docs.

I was worried about using someone other than the super recommended Cammy at Mason title (or now different agency I guess) but I was blown away by First American Title (Amy Lee) ! Fidelity told me to expect 2 weeks before receiving closing docs - we received in 5 days. And then closed 2 business days after they received our returned paperwork. They got it on Friday and Tuesday we got an email saying we closed.

I would recommend this title company in the future!
