Hi Everyone,

We are looking to dine at a resort on our DHS day. DHS will be open from 9am-12am and we would like to leave, for an hour or two, for dinner.

Factoring in transportation, I am guessing a dinner at the Y&BC or BW would be the most convenient? Right now, I am leaning toward the Captain's Grille because of proximity and it would be a new dining experience for us.

As always, I appreciate your thoughts!

The restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin and Boardwalk would also be good options. Big River and ESPN Club are casual Boardwalk options, with Flying Fish Cafe and Kouzzina being more upscale. The Dolphin has Shula's Steak House and Bluezoo, which are both highly regarded and the Swan offers Garden Grove (character), Kimonos and Il Mulino. Plenty of good options just a boat ride away from DHS.

There are tons at the Swan and Dolphin, but I have not been to any (would like to). Bluezoo, Shula's and Il Mulino are 3 that many folks seem to like.

The Boardwalk has the Flying Fish and Kouzzina that are recommended (I haven't been to those either). We have been to Big River Brewing and it wasn't bad...nothing spectacular either. There is also ESPN Club...nothing special about that unless there is a big sporting event on that you or your DH want to see.

At BC/YC: There is Cape May which we just went to in Jan and were not thrilled with it. We went once before, in 2009, and it was fabulous then. They have seemed to take many items off the buffet and it wasn't a large selection like it was in 2009. There is Beaches and Cream which is walk in only. My DDs and I went in Jan too and it was really good (almost like a Johnny Rockets...which I love that sort of comfort food type stuff). The Yachtsman is another signature (like Flying Fish) and I have not been but have been wanting to go. And Captain's Grill is another place I have not been to yet.

If you aren't on DP, maybe consider one of the Swan/Dolphin places. You can take the boat from HS and I think it stops at Swan/Dolphin 1st (before BW and BC). The walk over isn't bad either. In Jan we were staying at BCV but wanted to go to BW's candy shop after a day at HS, so DH walked from HS to BW while the kids and I took the boat. DH beat us there.

Also, these are not resort restaurants, but if you continue that boat ride to Epcot that opens up all of the World Showcase restaurants.

We like Captain's Grille just fine, but our favorite in the area is Kouzzina. If you like Mediterranean (mostly Greek) flavors, they do that style very well. The whole fish entrée is a real standout if you like fish. And Kouzzina isn't quite as pricey as Flying Fish and has been more consistent for us. We've had amazing meals at Flying Fish and so-so meals.

Hop on the boat from DHS and get off at a resort restaurant you have never tried before. Make sure to check out the menus before you go. Make it an adventure!

Thanks, this is exactly what we are going to do!

We have eaten at Cape May Cafe, so we will be trying the Captain's Grill this time. Admittedly, the marshmallow chocolate tart was the deciding factor :thumbsup2
