Closest Campground to FtW

Hi everyone! I have a question for all the experts - What campground would be under an hour away from Ft Wilderness? I'm hoping to make it there on our last day of driving, then take it easy in the morning on the day of our check-in before we head over to the Fort. Any suggestions?

Theres a campground called Turkey Lake thats supposed to be very nice....very near the Universal Studios area.

Thanks for the info! I would love to see some pics if you have them. We're going to be at the Fort from 6/9 to 6/17, but I wanted to stay as close as possible the night before. I'm getting soooooo excited!!!

Turkey Lake closes at 6:00 I think. (407) 299-5581 is the number. If you are coming in after closing you can pay by credit card and they'll give you the gate combo. It's nice and clean IMO. I've stayed there a few times and for $15 you can't beat it.

If you are coming down I-75, Ocala seems to make a good stopping point. There are a couple of Good Sam campgrounds right on the interstate. I can't make it down there on the way to WDW, but it is often my stopping place for driving home from WDW.
