Are the new mugs at all of the resorts yet? I am considering buying one for my CBR stay in April...

Can you still get refills at the pool with the new cups?

As I remember I could fill at
-Bakery
-Pizza Window
-Bell Vue Lounge
-Pool

Am I correct?

I just checked at Pop, Poly, Grand Fla., and Contemporary, and all they had were Purple and Green. No orange, and no new design.

I also have put my mugs (yes the RIFD ones, we were there in October) in the dishwasher and microwave (in fact just did it five minutes to heat up some milk for hot chocolate that I am currently drinking) and I'm still alive and haven't burned down anything.... yet, ha!

I do have another question that after reading the first post am still not clear on. I am not trying to be unethical or start a debate.

We are going on a disney cruise in October, it leaves on a Monday and returns on Friday. :cool1:
I am planning to stay at a disney hotel on the Sat and Sun night before as well as the Fri night after. We are not planning to go to the parks at this time but rather use Sunday as a day to explore the other hotels. I've wanted to do this for some time now. If I buy a mug at my resort (haven't decided yet which one that will be) do they work (meaning with the new RIFD chip) in the other resorts while I am just wondering around?

Also even though I am doing two separate stays would the mug still work on the Friday when we return (assuming I bought the 'for the whole stay' one)? What if I stay in a different hotel on that Friday?

Just purchase a 14 day mug. You may want to have documentation to show that you will be on a continuous Disney trip, but they likely will not ask about it. The new mugs are able to be used at all resorts. That is a feature of the new system.

Thank you!

Are we thinking if they are running out of orange, maybe they will be getting new mug designs soon?

Yes, there is another thread with that rumor/speculation that a new design (or perhaps lid color) is coming since orange is out of stock.

We'll see.

I'm going to merge this in with our Refillable Mug FAQ thread.

Don't you think the "Refillable Mug" sticky should be closed. 99% of the thread is info pertaining to the old refillable mugs and is no longer correct, correct? Maybe take the 1% of posts discussing the Rapid fill mugs and start a new sticky. :confused3

Or they just decided to do away with orange like they did some of the other colors that were available in this design early on. There was rumor/speculation that the demise of pink, blue, and black were signs that a new design was on its way and we all know how that turned out...

At this point, I am starting to think that we're more likely to see a standardization down to just one handle/lid color than we are to see a new design.

That would stink. If anything I'd like them to have at least four colors to choose from so each family member would have a different color.

If they went to one color they would probably go the MB/fabric cover route and sell cup charms so that you could purchase your favorite character/symbol to personalize your cup.

Crazy question, but are the resort drink stations open 24/7, or do they close? I am staying at POFQ.

We just left POP and they were not 24 hours. 6 am - midnight.

Actually, I believe there was a change when the turquoise blue, pink and black were phased out. This is when the cups were changed to rapid fill, with the rfid chip in them. Also we now pay for length of stay cups. The older cups will not work on the soda dispensers.

This made me laugh, but would not be surprising.
