I think we need a new sticky! I was looking for some more info about the RFID cups but the first post doesn't have anything.

We have a cup from November. Can we bring it back and pay to get it "activated" again or do we have to buy a new one? Just trying to be a little Earth conscious :)

TIA!

Or they just decided to do away with orange like they did some of the other colors that were available in this design early on. There was rumor/speculation that the demise of pink, blue, and black were signs that a new design was on its way and we all know how that turned out...

There was a design change with the change to RapidFill. Pink, blue, and black lids/handles have not been used with RapidFill.

With the change to RFID/RapidFill, the same pool scene continued but with a RapidFill logo added and with green, purple, and orange lids/handles replacing pink, blue, and black.

I know what we're really prefer is completely new design, as the pool scene has been used since 2011. But the color change and logo addition was a type of design change.

Actually, I believe there was a change when the turquoise blue, pink and black were phased out. This is when the cups were changed to rapid fill, with the rfid chip in them. Also we now pay for length of stay cups. The older cups will not work on the soda dispensers.

The only change in the design, though, was the addition of the RapidFill logo. Aside from that Disney has been selling the same mug design since early 2011. I have a ridiculous number of them at this point and would love to see a real change, but I fear Disney has once again embraced standardization and cost-cutting over the little things that frequent visitors tend to appreciate.

Have a question about the new Rapid Fills. If I want to fill my mug mostly with coffee and then top it off with low fat milk, will it let me do that? This will be our first trip with the new mugs.

Coffee isn't controlled by the RFID system. Milk isn't included with your mug. You would have to buy milk separately. They do have a liquid creamer that is free but it's not milk. So there is nothing to stop you from filling your mug mostly or half way or all the way with coffee.

(I don't want to read 180 pages of which most is outdated...quick answer please...) Split stay. 25 nights on 4 reservations. (Some CRO and some DVC on points.) Continuous stay with no breaks. Mug options?

Get the length of stay. That will automatically give you 14 nights. On day 15, bring your mugs receipt, mugs and confirmation numbers that cover nights 15-25 to CM working the food court and they will activate your mugs for 14 more nights. :thumbsup2

So 14 days isn't the limit? I thought maybe I had to buy a new mug and start over again after the 14th day. Anybody have actual experience with a long split stay like this?

If your stay is continuous, then the length of stay is for your actual length of stay. My cousins from England just did this for a 21 night stay in December.

This is the exact information I was looking for. I too am staying for 26 continuous nights. I took my reservation info to the food court when I bought my mugs, and all the CM would say "was length of stay, length of stay." When I filled them up, I saw they expire on the 2nd. I am staying till the 14th. I kept the receipt with my reservation info, and will do just as you suggested. Thanks.

pampam - where are you staying? Please let us know if you have any problems with "length of stay". Thank you.

I mentioned this same thing a few posts back to the Moderator who combined the new posts with the old thread.:(

Any possibility of this happening Moderators?:confused3

Leaving in 17 days. Last time they changed the mugs right after we left in 2011. Hopefully this time they will change before.

The current mug designs say "Let The Memories Begin" on them. That campaign has ended. I wouldn't be surprised if a new design started rolling out soon...

We are here now and there is still no chip reader on the coffee, tea and hot chocolate :)

I wonder if they ever will? Seems like if they were ever going to do it they would have done it when they chipped the soda machines.

Hmmmm I guess they could keep the same picture to "show your Disney 'slide' ;) ".
