Do the lid/handle colors indicate anything? Are there only certain colors and certain resorts?

For the most part the colors don't really indicate anything except which mug is yours. :goodvibes. Across the resorts the color choices right now are black, pink, and blue at location where the mugs are sold.

For a while there was one resort -- All Star Sports -- with specific colors green, purple, and orange because they were doing an RFID chip test there. With reports coming out that the test ended, who knows if those colors will go too, although during my August 2011 trip to Pop Century, the green/purple/orange colors showed up for sale there too. But then later in the week the selection settled back to black/pink/blue.

"""we are staying at CSR oct 1-6.....after reading some of this thread i am already wishing that there were more kid friendly refillable mug drink options for little kids.
my girls will be 6 and 3 when we go and neither of them drink pop (soda?), ice tea, coffee or tea!""

They also have blue powerade and hot chocolate and lemonade(already mentioned) and I want to say there was some sort of 'juice' i.e. sugar water. Not great choices but better than soda all the time! I brought powered drink mixes (crystal light) and put that in DS mug with the free ice water around the parks. He then had milk with his DDP meals. Oh Well!!!! Were on vacation!!!! at DISNEY!!!

OK just want to publicly apologize, I made a thread about refillable mugs and I totally had no idea there was a sticky! If this thread were a snake I'd have gotten bit hard lol!

Anyhow, found the info I need, thanks mod for pointing me in the right direction :goodvibes

We are going in August and were hoping for a new design to add to our collection but as I see from this thread that this will not be the case. We are on the dining package and this is the first time for us and that we will not have to buy the mugs because they come with our package. Anyway, now when my son takes his mug to school I guess I don't have to be so "commando" about him losing our treasured souvenir -- he will get another one this year! :rotfl2:

In August at Pop we were there the begining of Free Dining the day it started and we got to Choose from Orange, Purple, Green, Blue, Pink , Black and we got all colors except Purple :) By our second day they were down to just Blue, pink and black and ppl kept asking where we got the Green and Orange ones ! Lol guess it was perfect timing :) I love my mug and use it daily for my morning coffee :goodvibes

I didn't think they had purple cups  Would be great if they have purple as an option when I go, but it seems like most people says there's just black, pink and blue...

We were there last week and there was only Black, Pink, and Blue. I believe it's one of the All Star resorts (Music Maybe?) that have the chip in them, that has the purple cups.

We have the same problem. I have 2 kids that hate soda. (They don't like the bubbles - go figure.:confused3) Anyway, we had a lot of trouble on cruises also, because the drinks seems to be more "adult" beverages except for OJ and cranberry, apple, etc. at breakfast time - which they take away after breakfast. My kids were always fans of milk and fruit juices or pouches. There's no fruit punch or anything like that.

When there are so many children around, it's hard to believe they couldn't at least add something like fruit punch or orange drink or something like that.

This is great! :thumbsup2 Good options for my DS11. Thanks ... I missed seeing those items listed before. Thanks!!!

All Star Sports had (or has?) mugs with green, purple, and orange lids/handles corresponding to the RFID chip test going on there. I've seen reports that the RFID test is done at Sports. I haven't seen reports yet that they still have the special colors or if the test has moved to another resort.

We stayed at POFQ two weeks ago and I must say, that hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. Does anyone know what kind it is? Thanks!

Yes ,Pop Century this past August 2011 had 6 colors our first day when they came out originally they had yellow and thats what I wanted and settled for Orange but I love the orange it was a toss up between Purple and Orange and I'm not really a purple person if I can find my picture of them ill post it :)

POP Century this summer indeed had 6 colors Blue, Pink, Black, Green, Orange and Purple . They weren't doing the chip test but maybe thats why those colors soon disappeared since they are the colors being used in the chip test makes sense :)

I was wondering...can you get milk in the mugs? I really don't want my kids drinking pop all the time.

You can't get milk at the mug station, but If you are on a dining plan, at your resort you can get an adult meal and get a large bottle of milk using your drink entitlement and then just get a soda for yourself in your mug. All kids meals come with a drink whether you are on a plan or not, and they always have a milk option.

There is lemonade available for refills at the mug stations, too.

What is the current price of the mugs? Thanks in advance.

Price report from January 2012 has mugs at $14.49 plus tax.

$14.49 + 0.95 tax = $15.44

Note that if you are on the Disney dining plan that as of 2012 all plans (quick, reg, deluxe) now include credits for refillable mugs, so you don't need to buy them separately. Previously the regular plan did not include mugs.

any pics of the mugs at Pop or are they still the same from last year? I enjoy the new ones to add to my collection and wasn't sure if they are still the pool scene. Thank you

Still the same pool scene as last year, at Pop and elsewhere.
