Kinda shocked that the info on the first page hasn't been updated since 2010... and it's still considered sticky-worthy. Oh well... I see there are current comments so off I go....

Are the lids for the new RFID refillable mugs leakproof. The ones we got 2 years ago weren't and you had to be careful if you were carrying the mug.:confused3

No they are not leakproof. If you turn them on their side they will leak. They're the same mugs you got 2 years ago with a different design.

I'm a WDW virgin, going next month for the first time. We're staying at Pop Century for 9 days the last week of Feb. We got the Diner Dining plan that comes with 1 snack, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner per day. Will we get a free mug as well? I want it more for keepsake than using it to drink out of since I don't plan on spending but 1 day hanging out at the resort. I know the answer is in here but this is a big thread and its just confusing me the more pages I skim through. :confused3

Yes. Go to the food court, pick the mug with the lid color you want. The cashier will scan your magic band and you can start using the mugs. There's a sink among the beverages to rinse out the mugs.

Enjoy your first stay!

We're staying in a LM room at AoA so I don't see us using the mug too much (comes with our dining plan though), the walk back and forth for just a drink doesn't seem worth it. We're taking a backpack into the parks though, so I can throw my mug in there for the day (empty of course) and then fill it up on the way to my room at the end of the evening... After they scan the mug the first time when you first get it, do you have to have it scanned at all when you are just grabbing drinks in it at the end of the day? Or do you just fill 'er up and run? Lol

When they scan it the first time, they activate it.

So, you can just fill and run. I took it a couple of times with tea or hot chocolate in it for the morning, then filled it with soda when I returned from the park.

As long as you have somewhere to put it during the day, it should be fine.

Oh that's a great idea, I can take something on the bus with me heading to the park and make sure it's empty before throwing in my backpack! :) Thanks!

also, in the mornnings, they set up a small kiosk outside the LM pool with a few choices of pastires, etc. and coffee and tea, either for purchase or for refills on the mugs.

Oh are you serious? I had no idea, that is awesome!!! Thanks!!

just to clarify, only tea and coffe at the LM pool. no soda:sad2:. at least not 2 years ago (year and a half? I forget)

I wish they would set up a small soda refill station at the "quit" pools like they have at Vero beach and the kidani pool at AK.

I have a 15 night stay at my resort...however its booked as 2 reservations as the standard room was not available for the whole stay..the last 2 nights are booked in a preferred room...will we be able to have the mugs for the whole 15 nights or will we need to buy again for the last 2 nights

The longest duration that a "length of stay" mug is 14 days. On day 15 you will need to bring your mug, receipt showing you purchased length of stay and the reservation number for the 2nd leg of your trip. They will then activate your mug for the last couple days.

so can anyone confirm that you can get powerade at pop century as well as lemonade? not really a carbonated soda person so these work more for me. also had no idea you could use the resort mugs at other resorts. that makes a big difference. i didn't buy the mugs on our last stay because we just weren't at our resort that much but we did visit other resorts. that would have been great had i known. thanks to all who post to keep us in the loop : )

So I'm guessing no new mug design? What are the current colors? It has been red, blue, or green forever. Change would be good.

The current mug design was introduced almost a year ago in mid February 2014. As mug designs go, this is still "new." :goodvibes
