Hi there...

If you are referring to me and being 'personal'... I just rec'd your PM today and wasn't made aware by the other 'leader' that it's your fridge or you are claiming it.

All I know is that I was willing to take it over from someone who couldn't do it anymore. I haven't read the forums in over a month - came online to check who'd swap it to me on my vacation and have come online to a huge amount of 'he said she said'.

Please don't assume that I KNEW ANYTHING about this and I don't seem to care! That's a HUGE assumption... As I stated in my PM to you this evening, i've contact the other leader.

I was just trying to help everyone out and keep things moving.

I apologize for assuming you knew...two posts up from yours on the thread is mine saying your fridge is ours...I didn't think it was a stretch that you knew.

And of course it's personal...I've been trying to get our fridge back from your swap for quite a while now...

I hope we can work this out. I understand you've been on the list for 6mths & you'll be left w/ no fridge, but my swappers have been on this list for just as long...some a lot longer. The fridge that we paid for belongs with our swap...and I hope it can come home soon now that you are aware of it's rightful owners.

If you're unsure w/ the whole he said/she said, just look back a little bit & see the pics a recent swapper on Christa's thread posted. Then look at my swap back a few pages...it's the same. (Not to mention, you can see in the pics your swapper posted that our name is all over the thing.)

Doesn't look like we are, pennymom. You read the other thread...I've done all I can short of going down there. They are unwilling to return our fridge. I would do as some of "those" people suggested though, while you are there, and ask at luggage services if there is a fridge that has no name...you may just get one for your stay.

As of right now, this swap is dead (I hope temporarily)...unless some miracle occurs & one of our listed swappers is able to recover it down there, which you are more than welcome to try to do...I notice their swapper is scheduled to arrive the same day as you...maybe it'll be in luggage services & you can get it. Bring a pic of our fridge to help in the search & let Luggage service know that it's simply labeled wrong. If you're comfortable doing that, that is...you did pay for part of the fridge! If anyone deserves the right to use it, it's YOU. It's sinking to their level, but it may be the only way...

If not, hopefully after their swap ends, maybe our fridge will just be sitting there & we can get it back that way...but reasoning with them was fruitless. They don't think they're doing anything wrong by keeping our fridge. It started to get ugly and I stopped fighting with them. It was useless anyway...all they care about is that they have a fridge to use...it doesn't matter that it's ours.

I'm really sorry, everyone! I had high hopes that this swap would continue for a good long time & we've had a great bunch of swappers!

I'm still hopeful that something will go right...

Have you spoken with deide71 from the other swap at all? I'm going to be getting to Disney on the same day they leave. I see pennymom is too. Maybe we could pm that user and see if they'd be willing to hand the fridge off to one of us instead of skier pete?

I'm not staying at POP, but I'm going to be down there from the 12-18, so if there's anything I could to help.....

Hi Avonlady et. al.

Thought you would like to know....Pennymom and I met at Pop Century last Saturday. I am the swapper from Christa's swap, that was trying to get you your fridge back even for all the abuse that was being heaped on me. Anyways, we met on our first day and went to luggage services. There was a refrigerator in luggage service with my name on it...but it was NOT your fridge, or at the very least it was NOT in your box...though there was some green tape on the box. It was actually in a stroller box. There was no sign of your fridge and no sign of our fridge within luggage services, we asked them to look and no dice.

So...even though I am apparently "a bad DISer" and a "thief" and a whole list of other horrible things I have been called over the last several weeks before my trip on that *other* thread...I let Pennymom have the fridge. (I had told her that if there was only one she could have it, and I am a man of my word, though not sure whether that's worth much here.) Your swap should now have a fridge, I would assume Pennymom will post this back soon...and Christa's swap has been shut down for lack of a fridge. So, your future swappers should be all set with a fridge available to them.

But, I am curious as to how you are going to handle this going forward, as you are now in possession of a fridge that does not belong to you. I hope you are going to do everything in your power to return it to the rightful owner, because it seems to me that keeping it would be stealing....and I know how you feel about that. (And as a result - you may have to look forward to taking a lot more abuse from fellow DISers that have nothing to do with your swap.) I wish you luck, as it seems to me these swaps are more bother than they are worth. I certainly will never get involved with one again.

Got in at 3 am this morning after having our Saturday flight canceled and were lucky enough to land very late last night even though some other flights weren't landing yet. Came home to 2 feet of snow to be shoveled and still have Christmas shopping to do!

As Skier_Pete said, we met up on the 12th and found the fridge with his name on it which he gave to me immediately (Thanks, Pete!). It was in a car seat box with some lime-green tape. I took a picture of it and will post it when I get a chance so some other swap can hopefully get their fridge back. We had a grocery delivery that night, so I took the fridge for two days until we could get rid of the perishables and then I gave it back to luggage services with 'Disboards' written on the top in pen. Took a photo of our fridge's box with me to luggage services but they said the box was not there. I called WeLuvDaMouse and let her know that our fridge is still missing.

So, the other swap DID NOT have our fridge after all. It is unfortunately still missing and hopefully the next swapper in January will have more luck tracking it down.

Thanks for the update, Pennymom. I know they did have our fridge once upon a time because they posted pics of our box, but that is neither here nor there.

Since we still don't have a fridge, I'm going to place our swap on hold...if one of our swappers is able to recover it, I'll open it back up.

Please post a pic of the box & fridge you did have & hopefully someone will recongnize it and another swap can get back on track.

Thanks to Skier Pete for keeping his word & I'm sorry he feels that he was being abused. If the swappers over there hadn't posted pics of our box & confirmed very recently that they still had it, I wouldn't have been fighting for it.

I'm sorry to all the swappers on the list who never got to use it. I had hoped this was going to be a long lasting swap, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I'm not going to ask a mod to close this down as of yet, but I will not be accepting new swappers since we don't have a fridge to swap and encourage all of you to try to find a new swap for your trips.

I do encourage all swappers to inquire at luggage services for our fridge. Who knows? It could turn up!

I so have to chime in here.. Pete and Penny I'm so glad that all went well.. and there was no hard feelings when meeting up...
