I have a brand new in box 12 cup coffee maker that I was planning on bringing anyway. If the other one does not show up I will add it to the swap when I hand off the fridge on November 14th/15th.

Meanwhile, Pop gave one of our swappers a fridge that doesn't belong to us. I have a feeling that they gave our fridge to another fridge swap group.

I have asked our swapper who is currently at Pop to take a picture of the fridge and box that she has in the hopes that we can find it's true owner. A picture of our fridge box is my avatar over there to the left. If anyone has seen the fridge, could you please, please contact me so that we can get our swap going again?

Hi, Karen. That's very frustrating...the same thing happened to us when our swap was only a few weeks old...POP seems to hand out the first fridge they come across at times. It's important that the accepting swapper check the name on the sheet & the swap's name on the box to make sure they are accepting the correct one.

Here are some pics of our box...I haven't had word from our current swapper that there's a problem so I can only assume she has the right fridge.

If the pic you get of the fridge matches ours, please let us know.

I'm sure all our swappers will keep an eye out for yours...is there anyway to post a bigger pic of your box? On my computer (and it may just be mine...) your avatar is kind of hard to see...

Yes, frustrating indeed! If the pic I get from my swapper matches yours, I'll definitely let you know. Here's a larger pic of our lost fridge box ...

The fridge itself is just a larger sized white dorm fridge. My name and phone number are on the outside of the box and on the top of the fridge itself. So, if someone realizes that they have the wrong fridge, hopefully they'll call me ASAP so we can get things back on track.

OK...WDWfan1 just told me that when she got the fridge on Oct 5-10 it had no box...anyone know what happened to the beautiful box we had?

Hopefully when our current swapper gets home, she'll have more news...(hopefully good news...)

They had no problem finding the fridge when I called Bell Services. The person before me made her "label" before she left and taped it to the top of the fridge. I did the same when I returned it to Bell Services and I spoke with the next person on the list. She advised me that it was already in the room when they checked in.

The fridge was in good condition, but I was surprised that it was not in a box. However, I did not realize that AvonLady did not know about the missing box. Hopefully the fridge will be around to make many more vacationers happy!

I'm glad you told me, wdwfan1! No one mentioned it before that. I'm just upset because lutherlovr went thru all that trouble to make us the new box & bring it down there when the original fell apart.

It will help future swappers to know that there is no box...of course, if anyone has a box big enough & would like to lug it down w/ them & write our name all over it...I wouldn't say no. I still have the signs saved in my computer to print out & tape on... hint...hint...someone, anyone?

Glad POP is still letting us swap it w/out a box...hope that lasts.

I just recently found out that our coffee pot was missing & that it's been missing for a while. Please, if you think something is "off" when you get the fridge, let me know. I don't know that I can fix it but at least I can let everyone know things have changed.

We had a great trip. The fridge is in excellent condition, clean, and was a great perk to have. I called Luggage services when we arrived and they delivered it while we were in the park that evening. It took them only 10 minutes to come get it from our room the day of our departure. Thanks so much for continuing the swap!

Be sure to bring enough tape so that you can tape around the side so the door and cord are secured. I had no problems without having a box.

Sadly, there has been no word on the fridge. And the fridge that Pop switched ours for no longer cools anything. So, unless our fridge is located, our swap is over. The swapper that is next on our list is going to take pictures with her and see if she can locate it with Pop. But, if the box has gone missing (as I've noticed has happened in a couple of the DIS swaps recently) and/or it's being swapped face to face, we probably won't ever find it again.

eta: The fridge mentioned above is *not* the fridge swapped in *this* thread. Don't want to cause any panic.

Does anyone know if it might be able to fit inside the fridge for when it has to be in storage? The maker part needs a 11" x 10" space to fit in to and pot is about 7" x 9". I looked at the photos of the fridge in use and I'm afraid it's not going to fit inside.

I dont even have a box it can fit in to but I think I can find one fairly easily. Should I just make a label? Maybe tape the coffeepot box to the fridge??

I'm sorry to hear that. We've been through what you're going through. In the beginning of our swap, another group "accidentally" had our fridge. Ours worked out in the end. I hope your fridge turns up eventually. In the meantime, if any of your swappers need to come over here and we have their dates available, they are more than welcome. I know how much it stinks to count on having a fridge then having the swap go kaput and be disappointed.

I haven't seen our fridge in person, so I'm not sure if it'll fit inside. Hopefully someone from the past is still lurking & can answer...If you can find a box for the coffeepot & made a separate label for it, that would be best...and if everyone can bring TWO labels in the future, one for the fridge & one for the pot, that should help the coffeepot to NOT get lost like the last one. I have a feeling that's what happened to last one...no label & it got separated from the fridge somehow.

With a separate label, there would be no need to tape the pot to the fridge. If it fits inside, that would be even better...again, hopefully someone can comment...

In the event the coffee maker won't fit inside the fridge, I have prepared a box for it. I'll post a photo when I get back but for now here's a description:
It's a cardboard Famous Amos cookie box about the size of 2 shoe boxes. I put a label on 2 sides with a LGMH that says Do You DIS and The Under-POP-ulated Swap. I'll put the next swappers info on the top side.

I also wrote right on the coffeemaker The Under-POP-ulated Swap, including the glass pot. It fits snugly inside the box but I wrapped a few paper towels around the glass.

This coffeemaker makes 10 cups and is designed for the flat bottom type filters. I don't have any filters in with it so make sure you bring some!
