We are taking our very first WDW trip in April with our 2 DD's, they will be newly 3 and newly 6 yo. We are staying at the VWL thru David's DVC Rental. We booked the trip 2 weeks ago. We are suprising the girls!

Joining this thread to keep up on tips for the WL! Thanks so much for all of the valuable info I have found by perusing the thread.

Hi, Kook or Brian!

Question for you (and you might know the answer for BWI as well ) - tried to find the answer on the first page, but might have missed it: Do the Deluxe rooms charge for extra adults? Thought we'd read somewhere that deluxe rooms, because they sleep so many, do not have the extra adult charge, but have not been able to find it again.

Going to be staying at te Wilderness Villas next month. Very excitted.!!!, I will have my two boys with me 7 & 9. There were two things you folks mentioned to request when I arrive.
1) try to get on the list to raise th emorning flag.

I just LOVE a resort refurb and am extra excited about the WL one because I was not crazy about the last one - never liked that blue/brown decor. Fingers crossed they go back to the warmer colors this time.

We when go for 3 ngts we enjoy relaxed, unhurried mornings at the park, afternoon at the resort, a different park for an early evening, then back to the resort. Sometimes on a short trip, we'll go on to another park for lunch and the afternoon, then evening at the resort. We've been visiting for about 30 years, so our park visits are very relaxed. Have fun!

Hi, Christine! I'm aware of the Suites being exempt from the third+ adult charge, but I do not know about the Deluxe Rooms.

There are a bunch of guys in the courtyard with what look like blueprints and talking about the building. I wonder if it's in prep for the rehab.

We have checked out of our room and getting ready for lunch, then on ME to MCO. I love love love love this resort!

Just booked our 1st family trip for Dec! Rented some DVC points from David's. Take DH, DS 4, DS5, my mom and dad. Can't wait! Last time I went was in 2005 and we stayed in the FW cabins. They were nice but I have a feeling the 2 bedroom Villa will be better. Now I just have to wait! So excited!

Having done both now, I liked the one around World Showcase better. I think there was more to see and experience in the countries. The one highlight of the FW tour for me, though, was going "backstage" and getting just a wee peek of the old River Country. The wireless receiver I had didn't have great reception and the guide kept cutting in and out on me, so I missed some of his commentary. I hope that someday WDW will do a segway tour around Animal Kingdom.

So slightly bittersweet situation. Dbf got laid off from his job. We already had our 2 night room-only reservation at WL paid off. We had to make the choice to change from 2 nights at WL to 2 nights at POR and get the refund as a room credit. Or stay only 1 night at WL and get the refund as a room credit.

Well... We decided we HAD to stay at WL for our anniversary!! If only for 1 night!! I have had my heart set on WL since I first laid eyes on it. Luckily WDW was very helpful in making the changes to our reservation. I just did online check in for next Friday. We were going to do a few things like carriage ride at FW and a boat rental, but we have to slim down what we are going to do. However I refused to cancel my ADR for Artist Point!! I cannot wait for next week.

So you noticed the missing pages from the menus? Thu-Sat was on the next page of the CM's 3-ring binder and I forgot to ask him to turn the page. You'd think by now that I could remember what is served on each day, but I can't. However, I think I have photos of every hot dish on the first page. And, of course...

I thought I would take some time and answer a few questions that have not been answered yet.
Deluxe room Additional Guest Cost - Yes, there is a $25.00 per person charge per room over 2 occupants. Remember, rates are based on double occupancy.

As far as the Segway Tour goes, I have done both and enjoyed the FW Tour so much better than the Epcot tour. The Epcot tour for us, was very dull and boring, very restrictive and very little information was discussed of the WS pavilions. The FW tour was essentially moving all the time, across paths, along the dirt path in fromt of the lake. Saw several deer, scenery was very pretty between FW and WL and we probably traveled 4x as far on the Segway than we did at Epcot.
