only 42 days until I take my girls to WDW for the first time and we are staying at Wilderness Lodge! I can't wait. I've been planning since June and it feels like Jan 21 is taking an eternity to get here!

I have to say I was much more impressed with the WL Christmas decor than the GF. Other than the Gingerbread house, I wasn't all that impressed by the GF, but I was WOW'd at the WL. It felt like home. I cannot wait to go back for our anniversary next month!!

I think the GF is very pretty at Christmas time, but I do have to agree that the WL is just breathtaking and it is our favorite this time of year :). It is so cozy with the fireplace and there's just something about the homey feeling you get when you walk in the lobby :cloud9:. Glad you had a nice trip and congrats on going back so soon :goodvibes.

A little something to get you all into the Christmas spirit:

Hi KOOK ......what a beautiful pic!!! I am starting to think about a December 2012 trip and as much as I was want to try BWI, I keep thinking of the WL....and seeing pics like this is pushing me closer and closer to booking WL CL for a holiday trip :santa:. The resort is beautiful any time of year, but it has a special WOW factor during the holidays :goodvibes.

Have a great trip.....you will love the WL :thumbsup2.

We check-in tomorrow! It is our first stay at the WL. Woo Hoo!

We also have check-in for tomorrow morning... also our first stay at WL!! I'm hoping for some kind of holiday entertainment in the lobby tomorrow evening.:santa:

Thanks for the reply. By adding a night I was able to get the discount so I went ahead and booked. We may end up dropping two nights but this way I can relax and quit checking the site every 5 minutes.

So will I :) !!

Arriving the 21th after a long, long day of international flights... I hope to be checking in around 1800-1900 depending on security and possible delays. Have a quick snack and then crash. Because of time-differences it will be after midnight for us!

Still not sure what to do sunday though. We'll be up real early too, even when sleeping in etc. Have a big breakfast at WCC?? Go for breakfast at FW?? Is that buffet I believe they have there any good??

Ah, choices, choices :)

Sunday I'd be going to a park at rope drop, lol! Have a quick breakfast at Roaring Forks and head out, then make it an early night. Even with 3 hrs time change from the west coast it takes us 2 or 3 days to adjust.

A couple quick questions before we check in a week! I saw on the first page that there is an nightly marshmallow roast and movie. Is that still happening? What time does the electrical water parade pass by Wilderness lodge? Thanks!

Ok, need advice.... DH and I always stay at WL and we remember that the buses normally drop off at WL and then go on to the GF, does anyone remember which buses do this? We are arriving today and eating at the GF and thought this would be the best way to get there bc all other transportation will be really crowded since people will be leaving the MK since there is a MVMCP.

For us the timedifference is about 7 hours.... Last time we were wide awake at 6. Unfortunately there appears to be no park open early, or we'd go there :)

One option is go for a nice walk to FW, have breakfast there, walk back and then go to a park. Or go for a walk, spend time at the resort,go for a swim, have a massage and go to the park later. Hubby very much wants to have dinner at the LTT at the MK so I booked that allready.
Am seriously considering booking a big breakfast as well. Experience learns that we'll be hungry since to our stomachs it's already past lunchtime.. :)

Just having trouble deciding what to do. :surfweb: Too much choice ;)

Since you'll be up early, The walk to FW would be fun for breakfast, then you can take the boat over from FW to MK.
We've never eatten at FW but have taken the trail part way. We'll have more time this trip, as our AP runs out our last 2 days. So we'll be doing non-park stuff, and the trail to FW to explore is on our list :)
I was reading a post of someone who really enjoyed the breakfast at The Wave in CR too. Just a boat ride away from WL.

Howdy, mickeynut1! If you're talking December, I'd go with WL or consider a split;). While ALL the resorts are beautifully decorated, you just can't beat all those WL/VWL fireplaces to get you in the spirit:thumbsup2

The roast should still be happening - I don't think it was seasonal. The EWP stops by WL at 9:35.

Have a fantastic trip!

I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you, but hopefully someone else does.

We check in one week from today.:banana::banana:

Brian-
I hope you have a fantastic vacation! I know it is your daughters first trip....it is amazing to watch it through their eyes (even though she is little she will still be taking it all in). Best of luck traveling with her and I hope it is magical!!!!:wizard:princess:

I believe it is the AK bus, but could be the HS. I know it is not Epcot because that one goes to FW. Ask the bus driver.

Thanks Tracy!

We're really looking forward to it.:banana::banana: I'm sure it will be an eye open experience. One of the reasons were only doing 3 days is so we can see how it all goes.

:goodvibes Seems like a few Disers are going to be at WL soon! So, will someone post a pic of the coffee? Or just tell me what brand they now have for the Pods? :surfweb: TIA! Hope you all have wonderful Christmas trips.

Hi! I took pictures and when I return I will post them, however, the coffee pods are Cuisinart brand. Not bad but not excellent. I think they are better than the previous ones though. :)

Yes....a December trip.....and what I've bolded is exactly what keeps pulling me toward the WL :goodvibes. I want to book CL where ever we stay and being CL at the WL would be great. I would love to relax in the lounge and look down into the lobby just taking in the surroundings. I agree that all of the resorts are very nicely decorated for the holidays, but the WL just gives off such a cozy feeling :cloud9:. We were at the GF last December and while we had a great stay, it just didn't have that homey feel like the WL. I haven't booked anything yet as I'm still trying to narrow down dates, but the WL is definitely at the top of my list. Thanks for your input :flower3:.

I know what you mean, but we fly from uk arriving mid afternoon, by the time we get to our resort, check in, shower and unpack the last thing we want to do is crash, we are so excited to be 'home'. When we stay at WL we head off to MK for the evening, have something to eat, watch Wishes and take in a few rides. We return to the resort about 11pm and are still wide awake and raring to go first thing next morning. :yay:
