Incidentally, I believe I've only just (today!) found this brilliant thread, how useful it would have been before we stayed at Wilderness Lodge, thank you all for the time and effort you've put into your posts. Thank goodness I have a broken foot so have time to read through it all :lmao:

Quick question (sorry if it's been answered), but does VWL have free wifi now? We are DVC members.

We are thinking of Renting points now in a studio, how far away is the main pool from the studios, and how far is the lodge for dining? Is the boat launch close to the villas?

Thanks!

Hi! I took pictures and when I return I will post them, however, the coffee pods are Cuisinart brand. Not bad but not excellent. I think they are better than the previous ones though. :)

:worship: Thanks!!! Yes, anything would be better then the Nescafe! I haven't tried the Cusinart brand pods, but willing to give it a go!

I know what you mean, but we fly from uk arriving mid afternoon, by the time we get to our resort, check in, shower and unpack the last thing we want to do is crash, we are so excited to be 'home'. When we stay at WL we head off to MK for the evening, have something to eat, watch Wishes and take in a few rides. We return to the resort about 11pm and are still wide awake and raring to go first thing next morning. :yay:

Wow! Lucky you :)

I manage a shower, unpacking, getting a quick snack. By then I just crash, you wouldn't want me in the park then, I get real grumpy when tired! :rotfl:

PS Hope the foot heals quickly! :flower3:

Yes....a December trip.....and what I've bolded is exactly what keeps pulling me toward the WL :goodvibes. I want to book CL where ever we stay and being CL at the WL would be great. I would love to relax in the lounge and look down into the lobby just taking in the surroundings. I agree that all of the resorts are very nicely decorated for the holidays, but the WL just gives off such a cozy feeling :cloud9:. We were at the GF last December and while we had a great stay, it just didn't have that homey feel like the WL. I haven't booked anything yet as I'm still trying to narrow down dates, but the WL is definitely at the top of my list. Thanks for your input :flower3:.
You're welcome and let us know when you've booked something!

Thank you! I guess I should tout it as a recuperation aid?! How long do you have to have the cast on?:flower3:

I believe all WDW resorts now have free WiFi available to all guests.

The Silver Creek Springs pool is probably about a 5 minute walk and RF/WCC/AP is about 30 seconds from the pool. On the first page in post #1, I have an overhead image of the WL (green roof) and VWL (red roof). The furthest villa might be a little over 5 minutes:confused3

Thanks Tracy!

We're really looking forward to it.:banana::banana: I'm sure it will be an eye open experience. One of the reasons were only doing 3 days is so we can see how it all goes.

I took both of my boys there at 11 months (and the second son was a screamer, but didn't scream the entire trip) and believe it or not they were easier then than they are at 4 and 6 ....now they want everything they see and have opinions. Under 2 was much easier!!! I do remember bedtime was a bit tough b/c they were not used to sleeping in the pack and play for evening, but they settled down soon....you can just hang out on your balcony while she dozes off!!! I get to take my boys there in Feb. for the first time for 2 nights before we meet family at the BWV and I am looking forward to seeing their faces light up when we walk in that majestic lobby!!! Can't wait to hear how she does :santa:

I found a picture online of the coffee pots in the rooms at WL. Here is what they have :

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Commercial-2-cup-Coffeemaker-Black/dp/B001BL8WBG

and the second link has the maker and the pods

http://cuisinartcoffee.com/content/view/19/37

and a better look at the pods

Cheers!

I'll definitely update when I get back. I think I'm looking forward to it more because we have several family members going. So it should be a lot of fun. We have quite a bit of downtime planned so hopefully naps and such will help her get adjusted. Fingers crossed!

This site has been a godsend to me the last couple of weeks, I've spent hours reading through the threads and reports, and I specially love this one.
No cast, just strapping, and another 3 weeks of rest :surfweb: I've no time for work anyway, I've all this holiday planning and research to do! Thank you for your good wishes :thumbsup2

If we have friends that come to visit, how long can they park in the lot? If they are staying at another resort, can they drive over and use the VWL transportation to the parks with us for the day? Would they need a parking pass, and is that possible to get? We will have a 2 BR villa with 1 or 2 cars.

Also, I see that there are the Cuisinart Coffee Makers in the rooms. How many pods do they supply? My husband loves coffee--should we get more before we get there?

Thanks for any answers!:)

DOes anyone know where one can purchase these on the retail market? Also, are tea pods available? We have a Kuerig...and I always bring my own coffee...

TIA!

I sure will. Even though it's a year away, planning is half the fun for me and helps pass the time :goodvibes.
Absolutely! It's wonderful to be able to plan/chat about a Disney trip on the DIS anytime you want:thumbsup2. What other vacations can you say that about?:goodvibes

I don't know how many pods are supplied, but I'm going to assume that at least a couple of regular and a couple of decaf. are stocked, but you can always get more at anytime from housekeeping or leave a note asking for more.

Guests can park up to 3 hours and the gate guard will give them a temp. pass. Everyone parking at any of the resorts will have to get either a temp. pass from the gate guard and/or a length of stay pass at check-in. If they have a parking pass from another resort, I believe they're considered a "guest" and subject to the 3-hour rule, but the gate guard will know for sure.

Amazon.com sells Cuisinart pods. I believe Target, WM, Belks and Macys... carry them, but I don't know what grocery stores have them. I also don't know if another pod brand can be used in them:confused3. I haven't heard it mentioned that they stock the tea pods - hopefully someone else will know.

Actually, only the Deluxe resorts, DVC and CSR have free WIFI.

I guess it's another "perk" for paying more. :rotfl:

We're taking our first stab at switching resorts this Feb, with WL being our final resort. We've stayed at WL before :lovestruc, but never used the services relating to switching, so was hoping someone could help with a few questions.

DH will be at a conference all day the day we switch, so while he's gone I was planning on having bell services pick up our bags at our original resort (BC), and traveling over to WL alone to check us in. Since odds are pretty strong by the time he gets out of his meetings, I will still be at a park, can he pick up his own room key at the front desk if I've already been checked in? Any potential problems?

Also, anyone know about how long it will usually take before our bags make it to WL? I know it's variable, but I'm not sure if on average we're talking an hour or six hours.

Thanks for your help :) Looking forward to seeing this lovely resort again!

This is no problem at all. Just let the front desk know that he will be checking in later when you checkin.

Usually after 3:00 p.m. if I remember correctly.

Have a wonderful trip. You'll love the Beach Club if you've never been.
