You could...

Take a walk over to FW and look at the horses and other animals or take a pony ride or carriage ride.

Rent a boat at the marina.

Watch a movie on the beach at 9:00.

Go to the kid's club open house between 2-30-4 to make a free craft.

You can see Wishes from the beach area and dock. You can also see some of it from the higher floor room balconies which face toward the MK.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

The WL marshmallow roast is very tame and low-key - no characters and it's free. You only roast one or two marshmallows (no smores) and so it only takes a couple of minutes and most children seemed to be supervised and there was a high CM to "roaster" ratio. When you're done roasting, there's really no reason to hang around. There is a campfire photo on the first page.

I don't know how I missed this when my mom and i were visiting in Aug. This would've been a fun mother daughter bonding activity (though I was battling a nasty ear infection the entire vacation).

We've stayed at the WL several times but have never viewed Wishes from anything other than the high ones from the balcony or out a window.

On the "dock" do you mean the marina dock or the transportation boat dock?

Thanks!!!

It's very easy to miss as it's nestled in behind the Trout Pass on the beach right behind the movie viewing area.

An ear infection on vacation sounds terrible, especially if you had to fly.

Great pictures and information. Going in October.
Thank you, mkstlowe! October is a wonderful time of the year what with the lower crowds and nicer weather. I hope you have a great time!

I should have added that while you can see Wishes from the transportation dock, (the marina dock is closed off at that hour) the view is obstructed and not anything like it is at the monorail resorts. If you can't see it well from your WL balcony and you really want a better view, you might want to just take the Blue Flag over to the CR and watch it from there.

Also there is a door near a fireplace (I think it's the 6th floor?) that you can go out onto the balcony that is over the port cochere. It's really great out there. Though I haven't been out there during Wishes, I would think that would be a pretty good view.:confused3

Whoops, I meant to comment on the coffee thing, too. When we stayed at CR last year, I made a pot of coffee in the room. I ended up dumping it out. I have no idea if the coffee was good or not, but the WATER quality was so bad, I couldn't drink it. It reeked of chlorine. :sad2: The tap water in Florida tends to be bad, at least in my area, so it wasn't unexpected, but my coffee maker at home has a water filter in it. Apparently the one in the room at CR did not.

IDK, maybe I'm extra-sensitive about that, but I mention it only to say that bringing your own coffee still might not solve the problem. :confused3 Just something to keep in mind.

Hi - I lived in Florida for four years (go 'Noles!) and didn't have issues with the tap water, but I know that many people do complain about that. On my last Disney trip, my mom and I stayed at Pop and made our own coffee in the room - but we brought the coffee maker and coffee so it worked out. Thanks for the input! :)

Does anyone know the pool hours in January?
Is the hot tub open 24 hours?

From this summer, the lifeguards go off duty at 10. They sound a horn and inform everyone they are off duty. The pool was open until midnight and then they shut it down...

I'll have to check this out - always looking for something new to explore at my favorite resort - thanks!!! :goodvibes

Eagerly anticipating my trip to the lodge. Just a little over one week away. :yay:

Thank you so much for all this info. DF and I are checking in on Wednesday and getting married on Saturday at Disney :cheer2:

I've been to Disney countless times but never stayed at WL. I figured for my wedding I was going all out. There are so many things to do just at the resort I wish we had more time to squeeze it all in. Wed. evening is the only night we'll have to do something that's not planned (HDDR on Thurs, MNSSHP on Friday) so many choices...
