I posted this to the CR thread, but I know many Lodgers love CAG, too:

The rumors of CA Grill's rehab have now been confirmed by AllEars. What differs from the rumor is that it seems it will return as CA Grill with the same menu. The rumors had it closing at the end of the year, but it looks like it may be much sooner:

According to sources at the California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, the signature restaurant is scheduled to close for an extended period soon while important maintenance is done. Glass windows will be replaced, and repair work will be done on the roof. In addition, the kitchen and other back room areas will be renovated. When the restaurant reopens, it will continue to operate as the California Grill and will serve the same type of menu. Exact dates for this work have not been confirmed as yet.

:wave2:Hi, mickeynut1!

You're welcome and thank you, gwynne:). I forgot to mention that you can also just call Bell Services and tell them you'd like your luggage brought down and you need a cab to AKL. (BTW, I just read that Orlando cabs will impose a 9% rate increase soon:upsidedow).

::MickeyMoMickey knows everything :snooty:

Oh dear!!! That makes me nervous!!! We have reservations for CG in July, for our anniversary dinner...what happens if they close??? Will they notify us and assist us getting ressies elsewhere? :confused3

Hello all.

Hello Kook! I love your Orange Bird! :) The citrus swirl is my favorite, I'm so glad they brought back the original one.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. We were going to do HDDR for our anniversary in August, but they'll be closed. I could make an ADR, but I know they'll be closed and then what? So, I was going to make a CAG ADR instead. Again, I could make the ADR, but they might end up bumping me from that ADR, too.

I've been recommending people make a back-up ADR if they're going to book HDDR or CAG. If they do cancel your CAG, they should notify you by the phone number you gave in your reservation. I assume they'll offer alternatives, but I would rather make a double booking and book a back-up along with CAG or HDDR.

Does this mean we're all going to end-up at Narcoosees?:rotfl:. My back-up/back-up is Artist Point - what do you think?

YIPPEE for one day sooner and a ticker change!

Looking at your signature, you are one dedicated Wildernesslodger:thumbsup2

Every day counts! DH & DD won't even try a different hotel but, I don't put a much of an argument against it either:rolleyes: My next mission is to try save some more $ to do CL again. I love them up there!

:wave2:Nice to see you! I'm glad you love OB, too, he's so cute.

Do you have any of the nostalgic OB merchandise? They have just re-introduced the sippy cup and the poster in my signature and the mouse ears should be out this summer. Here's a citrus swirl for you:

There! Ticker changed...It does look sooo much better!:thumbsup2
It sure does, Mary:)

Does anybody know how long the menu at Roaring Forks has been in place? We were talking about it at my house. I think it is the same menu since our first visit in 2006.

I have heard the same thing that DCL is amazing and hard to beat :thumbsup2. It is quite a bit more expensive than other cruise lines as what we're paying for 4 of us for a 3 night cruise is what it costs for a 7 night cruise on other lines :rolleyes1.....but for me I think it's worth it for the Disney experience....at least once ;). My DH and I have cruised a few times before, but our DSs have never experienced it and since I have always wanted to try DCL, I thought what a better cruise to go with to show our DSs how fun cruises can be :goodvibes. I hear the kids clubs are great......with that said, that is one area we won't be experiencing as my two have far surpassed the kid club stage .

mickeynut1, which cruise are you taking? I've heard wonderful things as well about the Disney cruises. My oldest is upset that she'll be too young for the tween lounge (she'll be not-quite-ten). I'm hoping she gives it a chance, but if she doesn't it's no big deal. We'll have the infant with us, so it's not like we'll have a completely kid free trip.

I'm so glad to see the deluxe room photos since we'll be staying there in roughly nine months. We haven't gone to the HDDR in about four years. If it's back open when we're there, I hope they don't pull a Tiki Room on it and throw in Disney characters just to make it "more Disney." As silly as it is, I was so glad to see it go back to something closer to the original. My dad loved the old Tiki Room and I guess I've inherited his love of the cheese. :)

I was just thinking Narcoosees!!! And then AP as a back up to that!!! :rotfl:

Great minds think alike...

Just booked AP for our 25th:yay:. That review put me over the edge. So we have the Wild Africa Trek booked in the morning and AP at night. Should I squeeze anything else in there or should I spread the celebration out a little - like the spa:scratchin

:wave2:Hi, mickeynut1!

Hi KOOK .

LOL about Mickey knowing everything :rotfl2:.....but I think you're right ;).

Apparently adults aren't allowed in the kids clubs either :confused3. Still plenty of parent free teenager stuff to do they will love it I'm sure :)

I heard that about parents not being allowed in the clubs . I don't know a whole lot about it since it doesn't pertain to us, but the parents get pagers or something like that and aren't allowed in the clubs.....kids only :rotfl2:.

Just called to add a day to our WL stay, getting there 1 day sooner. :cool1: I gotta go change my ticker...

Gotta love an extra day :yay:.

What about Artist Point? We tried that for the first time in December 2010 and we LOVED it!!! :thumbsup2

Hello all.

Hi there LodgeLady :wave2:.

Does this mean we're all going to end-up at Narcoosees?:rotfl:. My back-up/back-up is Artist Point - what do you think?

We are doing Narcoossee's on our next trip, but we LOVE Artist Point :goodvibes. The only signatures we've done so far are AP and Yachtsman Steakhouse and they were both awesome.....I would have a hard time deciding which one was better since they both were amazing ::yes::.

My next mission is to try save some more $ to do CL again. I love them up there!

Our first CL stay was at the WL and it was great. The CMs were all very nice and I love how the seating in the lounge goes around the railing overlooking the lobby :cloud9:.

mickeynut1, which cruise are you taking? I've heard wonderful things as well about the Disney cruises. My oldest is upset that she'll be too young for the tween lounge (she'll be not-quite-ten). We are taking a 3 night in June 2013 :boat:. Our two DSs have never cruised before so I thought a 3 night would be enough experience for them to figure out if they like it or not.......hopefully they will and we can take a longer one. Everything I've read about Disney cruises is positive.....people seem to love everything about them :goodvibes. What cruise are you taking? I'm not sure if my two will do any of the teen clubs or not.....but then again, they will be 18 & 20 when we cruise so they might not want to go in them (or maybe they can't.....don't know if those only go up to a certain age :confused3). But I did come to realize that we can use the adult only areas of the ship since our youngest will be 18......so that will be neat to experience as a family rather than just DH and I checking it out.

I was just thinking Narcoosees!!! And then AP as a back up to that!!! :rotfl:

I can't speak for Narcoossee's, but AP is A+++ :thumbsup2.

Here is the link to a new AllEars review of Artist Point. Now I'm off to book my anniversary ADR:tiptoe:

So.....did you decide on AP???

Nice!!! It looks like they have some great wines there!!! Maybe I should just have our ressie there, and experience ALL of the WL while there...we already have WCC ressies...

Yup, I just changed my reservation to AP!!! Woohoo!!!! I don't like to deal with uncertainty!!! :yay:

Hmmm... I don't know. Did they have the flatbreads that far back?

Be on your best behavior since you're going before me. I don't want the place closing down or anything because of you and your rowdy family

My DH loves getting messages at Sturdy Branches! He says they are amazing there and very relaxing.

We always book one for him each trip.

Go for the spa too! After a trek, wouldn't a little foot massage and pedi feel nice.
