Are there any additional new room photos floating around anywhere????:scratchin

Also, for those of you who have been lucky enough to stay in a rehabbed room, are the new duvets (aka comforter between two sheets) warm enough for you? Is there no longer a blanket on top of the regular sheets?

And... do the beds have a bed skirt. Most of the new comforter configurations in other resorts seem to have a bed skirt as well, which does look nice!

We are staying WL CL from 6/3- 6/10. Should I request a certain wing/ area? Of course we would love a rehabbed room, but being fairly close to the OFC and elevators is also important to us. Any suggestions? Also, what are the odds of getting a "new" room? We are so excited to be there in less than two weeks. Thank you!
The North Wing's 7th floor has been rehabbed and is open. The South Wing's 7th floor is also open, but has not been rehabbed. All the CL rooms are close to elevators and none are very far from the lounge. If there is someone with a mobility issue in your party, you can include that information in your reservation. If you request "rehabbed room" in your reservation, with no other requests, I think the odds are higher that your request will be met. Good luck!

I'm not aware of more rehabbed room photos, unless Macavity has more. The comforters that are between the sheets, if they are like the CR's, are down or a down-like material and are plenty warm. There is also a runner/blanket at the end of the bed and usually there is additional bedding (pillow, blanket) in the closet. More blankets can always be brought to you by housekeeping.

I believe the beds still have a bedskirt, but Macavity would need to confirm that.

I'm excited for you, Mammaz! Have you started packing?

Yup......got travel kits and snacks ready. Breaking out the big suitcases tomorrow!

Thank you WDWKOOK. The IPO has been so great about fulfilling all my requests, I will just have to make one more. Can't wait!

my family is going to be staying at WL in July. We requested a queen with bunk bed room. We have never stayed here before and everybody is saying room requests should be sent to WL IPO? Who/or what is that. Any other information you might be able to provide for staying here would be appreciated

That has been our experience at WL as well. Though I do remember once at Christmas we waited over 45 minutes for an Epcot bus. All the other buses came two and three times in the time one Epcot bus came, and you can imagine the crowd that had built up. These things sometimes happen, but I have to say that in general, Disney buses from WL are reliable and frequent.

I feel the same way about the Epcot resort buses - they are diabolical. We only walk to DHS and Epcot when staying there and save MK and AK for our MK resort split stay.

This is pretty much what we are doing on our Oct trip .... while at BWV we'll do Epcot and HS, then move to AKV and AK, then move to VWL for MK and by the time we move to OKW it'll be time for relaxing and some resort hopping! :cool1:

Never thought of resort changing that way, but it does sound heavenly! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the thread Cshel85! You must be staying on the club level (The Old Faithful Club) if you've put in a request for bunk beds? Otherwise, bunk beds are a bookable category when you're not booked on the club level.

If you have a club level reservation, the IPO or Itinerary Planning Office should contact you via email shortly after booking or certainly before the 180 day arrival mark. They are the entity that will help you pre-arrival. The WL IPO is actually located at the Poly and they will make dining reservations for you or book tours and some recreational activities, answer questions... You can also ask them to add special requests to your reservation, such as a request for a bunk bed or special dietary needs.

We'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about WL:goodvibes

It is a great way to maximize using the least amount of motorized transport. We did an AKL-YC-CR split once and the only time we took a bus was at AKL to AK and it was horrible. We must have waited almost an hour to get back to AKL. I don't know what happened with the bus, but it forever soured me on AKL transportation and many others have also complained about the buses there. And there's no ability to walk anywhere (except to Kidani:upsidedow) and there aren't any boats, so I felt trapped and like I needed to drive everywhere.

When, if at all, have the villas been rehabbed? TIA. Choosing between VWL or BWV std view for Christmas.

Hi, Mike. I don't know if or when VWL was last rehabbed. I can't find any online references to any past VWL rehab.

BWV was last rehabbed in 2009, 13 years after being built. VWL was built in 2000 and BWV was built in 1996. If they all follow a 13 year rehab schedule, then you would think that VWL would be due next year, but I don't know of any upcoming VWL rehab. Guests generally report that everything in the VWL rooms is in good working order and good condition.

DVC rooms are on a completely different rehab schedule than non-DVC and they are rarely rehabbed, whereas non-DVC rooms are rehabbed about every 6-8 years.

Hopefully, a DVC owner/expert will know about any past or future VWL rehabpopcorn::

Thank you WDWKook. I don't believe we are on the club level, we booked a queen and bunk beds woods view? I really want to make this trip extra special. My son 14 has not been to disney since he was 3 and does not really remember it at all.

My husband and his son went 3 years ago, but his son was small.

We just got married last June and my husband and I have really struggled this year because he is a disabled Vet having served our country in the Army and his disability finally just came through and this is our "family honeymoon"

Is there a way to upgrade to CL at a reasonable rate so I could surprise my family?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ok WL lovers! We are booked for a week in December (non-peak time). I'm feeling guilty because we could stay at a mod for about $800.00 less. I am so excited about staying at WL but I keep thinking about the money I could save staying somewhere else :confused3. DH says he wants to stay at WL, too. We can afford it, but of course we could use that extra money for other stuff.

So, is it worth $800 more? Tell me yes please:thumbsup2 I realize only I can truly decide, but I'm still hoping you guys can confirm that yes, it's worth it!

For us its worth it! We love how close we are to the Magic Kingdom, and the resort itself is just amazing. Enjoy yourself guilt free!!

Hello! I am new at posting to the DIS, but used it a lot to plan my family's first Disney trip in January of this year. Thanks! I have booked WL CL for Oct 10-14, because I want to share the experience with my dad and sister who would never come on their own. (My husband is opting out so we can go...so sweet of him!) We had to book a deluxe CL room because there are 5 of us, so really, really hoping for FD, or a pin, or something, anything (!!!) 'cause, wow, CL is significantly more, but we definitely want to stay WL. Was reading about bunk beds at WL CL. We had them in our standard room, and my daughter loved them. Are they an option in a deluxe room?

I love that idea, now if I could only convince DH and sell him on it. I want to see and do it all since I have never been there at Christmas time:santa:

KOOK I had the same expierence when I stayed at AKL, the bus back from AK was Almost non-existent :scared1: I love the resort but the bus situation put a sour taste in my mouth.

I think the bus service at all the resorts is hit or miss and of course it seems that whatever resort I'm staying at has the worst service that day! :rotfl2: I will tell you that overall I think that POP has the best and most consistant bus service. Or maybe I've just been lucky there? :confused3

I got a survey request from Disney regarding the Villas, last week..... they got an ear load about the bus service. It was a disaster this last trip. I wouldn't mind if it was every so often but it was every time.

They also got an ear full about losing my charging abilities midway through the trip. Since I was using different use years it broke up my trip into two stays. I had a problem at the Biergarten. Bad thing was Disney has known about this problem for a LONG time and hope to get it fixed with in the next year?!? Had they simply told me I had to re-check in there would never had been a problem. Poorly done by DVC and the Wilderness Lodge. Other then those 2 issues one of my best says ever.

Favorite spot on property, a table sitting next to the Hidden Springs pool.

Please thank your DH for his service and sacrifices!!!!!

If you booked a bunk, then you didn't book a CL room so your bunk is guaranteed and they are all configured with one queen bed.

Is your DH eligible for the WDW Military Salute discount? It's good for 40% off all Deluxe rooms and there is also a special Military Salute ticket available. It's a great deal and you can even use the discount on CL rooms, subject to availability, of course. I really hope they renew the offer when it expires at the end of September. Here are the details:

Congratulations on booking WL and :welcome: to the DIS and WL thread! You can always find a cheaper room and you can always find a more expensive room. Compromise is the key. You're paying more at WL over a Moderate mostly due to its great location in the MK Resorts area, it's theming and architecture, amenities and the transportation options.

You have both a bus and a boat to the MK and a boat to FW and CR.

You have two table service restaurants, plus more nearby.

There is a marina with Sea Raycers, fishing excursions and boat rentals. You can also rent single bikes and surreys.

You can walk to FW and ride horses, do archery, rent boats and bikes. There is a child care center at WL and children's activities. They offer free movies on the beach and marshmallow roasts in the evenings.

You can watch the Electric Water Pageant every evening and even see some of Wishes from upper, North Wing, Woods View rooms.

If you think you might take advantage of some of the WL amenities and prefer the option of boating or walking to FW, and you love the theming:cloud9:, then you shouldn't worry about it being "worth it." It looks like it's just a little over $100 more per day for your weeklong stay. If there are four of you, then that's just about $25 more per day per person. I definitely think it's worth it!

:welcome: to the DIS and the WL thread, wollydoodle!

Unfortunately, bunk beds are not an option in the Deluxe rooms. They are only configured with two queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa in the sitting room. Your only other option for 5 adults at WL would be to book two standard (non-Deluxe) rooms. While I highly recommend CL, you might want to also price two Standard View or Woods View rooms to see how they compare in price to one Deluxe room. With two rooms you would have two bathrooms instead of one. A Deluxe room is about 500 SF and two rooms would be about 680 SF. Unfortunately, Deluxe rooms at WL are rarely (if ever?) discounted. However, non-Deluxe rooms are frequently discounted.

Keep us posted!

I love that idea, now if I could only convince DH and sell him on it. I want to see and do it all since I have never been there at Christmas time:santa:
Would working the topic of food/dining/ADRs:love: into your discussion help sway DH?

KOOK I had the same expierence when I stayed at AKL, the bus back from AK was Almost non-existent :scared1: I love the resort but the bus situation put a sour taste in my mouth.
Yep, and we only took the bus once while at AKL since it was so unreliable. One day was a resort day and another was a water park day and we drove. It's too bad it's like that there because I thought the theming and dining choices were great, but having only unreliable buses isn't great.

It's good you filled out your survey so they can use it to try and make improvements where needed.
