Hey guys! Just woke up here at AoA, going to get my stuff together so we can move over to WL in a couple hours!!!!! I think I'm most looking forward to walking into the front door and seeing that beautiful tree!!!!!! We are going to make it a resort day and just hang out and enjoy all of its amenities and then tonight we are heading over to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! I'm truly looking forward to spending the next week at the Lodge!!!
Thank you again to everyone who has been SO helpful on this board! Kook you are great! I'll post more when I have some time!

Hope you had fun at the lodge on your first day! How was MVMCP? Any tips? Were the lines for the rides short?

Thanks for posting the pool construction pictures.

I can't wait to see it in person.

Have they opened the beach up yet? I know that a narrow strip was kept open during construction but most of it was blocked off during construction.

Unfortunately, It's still mostly blocked off and a bit of an eye sore.

Hi!! Staying at WL now and our boat captain said crews are working around the clock to get the pool open by tomorrow, possibly by this afternoon. He was right about the work! They were out there when we went to bed and were already working when we woke up. The hot tub and splash pad areas won't be done then though. I have a couple pics but can't figure out how to post them from my phone.

I guess the $50. - $100 . per night credit a lot of guests are getting is starting to add up . If they can at least have the pool open while they keep working on the rest of the stuff, they wont have to offer the credit any longer.

Hoping its all wrapped up soon. We leave for WDW in 4 days, but wont be at the Lodge until the 10th .

Really hoping things are not an eyesore for the holidays for everyone and its all done soon !

I am happy to report that the pool is open, and more importantly, so is the pool bar! Never been happier in my life then to arrive at the wilderness Lodge and see the smiling face of Carrie, our favorite bartender. This week just got a whole lot better!

Very nice photos. Thanks for posting. I was a little worried about how the fence might look with the overall theme of the resort, but it looks like they did a good job of minimizing the visual impact of it.

Do they turn the heat up in the pools during this time of year? I've found the pools in October to be chilly (and I'm from Minnesota) so I just can't imagine wanting to swim in one in a few weeks.

First there was the excitement and anticipation of the decorations, and now the pool! Thanks to all of you for posting and giving those of us living vicariously through your posts and pictures a bit of the magic. Elaw- your photos are terrific!

Checking in on Sunday for one night!! Looking forward to a relaxing afternoon at the resort before MVMCP!!! It's our favorite resort, especially at Christmas time!! Glad to see the pool is open, hoping for the hot tubs to open by Sunday!

Just stopping by to say, "I'M SO EXCITED!!!!" that I can hardly stand it. Checking in to WL in 12 days. I have lots to do between now and then so the days are passing quickly so that's good. Thanks to all who have posted pictures because looking at them makes me downright giddy!

Thanks! We had a great first couple of days! It's just so beautiful here!

MVMCP was fun, the kids really enjoyed the parade and the cookies/hot chocolate. As far as tips... Do NOT go see the first castle lighting!!! The regular guests are still in the parks and there are just SO many people all crowding into one area it's scary! Also, wherever you see an inflated large candy cane, that's where the cookies and hot chocolate are (you could also get apple slices and apple juice if you prefer!) Hope you have a great time!!!!!

It is with great pleasure that I look forward to updating the pool's status in POST 2, (and more importantly for some, Trout pass')

Thanks so much to mrsap for being our on the spot reporter who broke the news and thank you for what I think is the first photo of the completed lobby tree. Thanks also to Jessterly for the early morning boat captain, (not the bus driver) inside news that the pool might be opening, but that the hot tub/splash pad would not - he/she was spot on!

Big thanks to elaw for all the great, timely photos of the pool area. Hope you're enjoying the Deluxe room.

Thank you to rudetreehill for confirming that Trout Pass is open in its original location next to the pool and her favorite bartender is ready with those little Disney napkins and Wilderness Lodge stirrers…
