(CLOSED) Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD ~2014~

Just returned to the resort after a day at Blizzard Beach to find scaffolding had gone up on the rooms above cubs den. Lots if loud workers as we walked by and as we sit in our room in the wing right next we hear noise from construction. I took a pic but cannot figure out how to upload from my phone. . I think if I were in one of those rooms and came home for naps if not be too happy.

Eta- oh my the beeping from construction vehicles in reverse. Glad it's not a nap day for us!!

I'm sorry for asking this question, but we will be there in 2 weeks and after all the letter writing back and forth with Disney, all the checking on different sites and even a personal phone call to my job from a cast member to tell me that the construction will not begin until Sept, which is 3 days after we leave, after all that worrying and then happiness, I now need to worry again that tarps and construction on the pool will start before or while we are there

I'm looking at the page...we need to be careful bec it's probably just a rumor. But I can tell you, if that's true, I would be on the phone is 5 min to switch back.

I called the resort front desk and the woman I spoke to confirmed that they are starting September 3rd and that there should not be any tarps up around the pool area till the work begins, I was worried too since we are checking in on the 19th, I don't want to be staying there if construction is going on. (The direct # there is 407 824 3200 if you want to talk to one of the managers and find out what they say), I promise to check in about it on this board as soon as I check in. It has also been helpful with the updates on this thread with reports from people on this board who are staying there now.

I might be wrong about this, but I know one of the numbers here that people often think is the front desk at WL is actually a call center. I have called that number, and the CM's often don't have accurate information since they are not actually at the front desk.

Kook would know more...again, I'm not sure but I think that's what I've heard.

Curiosity got the better of me and I called again and spoke to a manager at the wilderness lodge (that # I posted does put you through to their front desk). He said that the pool construction is starting September 3rd, not before and there will not be scaffolding around the pool prior to that. He was super nice & took the time to answer all my questions. Yes there is a minor project going on near clubs den (that's why there was scaffolding going on there), but he assured me the pool construction will not start before September 3rd. I was so glad to hear that! Like I said, i'll be sure to post some pics on this thread when I check in on the 19th.

To clarify, the most recent on-site update that I am aware of was my asking at concierge on 8/5. He called the back office (I assumed his manager) and basically confirmed that pool construction will not start before September. I don't think I have seen any reports that should give August travelers concern about the pool area.

Construction update...

Scaffolding has gone up and covers the entire south facing part of the lodge. Quite noisy. Nothing over on the north side where my room is luckily. Looks like some serious exterior room work to be done as the whole area is covered by the scaffolding.
