Enjoy. Don't know if you have ever stayed at POR but it's a beautiful resort.

Thanks! We've stayed at POFQ and walked to POR and DH asked why we didn't stay there instead, lol. Sad about WL, but saved $1000 (with a Royal Room) on the switch and am excited as it is a beautiful resort! Pixie dust to everyone dealing with this mess!!!

I find it hard to believe that there is no availability in any resort at all, especially when this first started. And FYI at times I have scrolled thru pages and pages trying to find recent posts NOT about the pool situation. And I never said anything was offensive. IIt's just ridiculous that people will let this ruin your vacation. If you weren't visiting parks and only planned to stay at the lodge and do nothing else, then ya, I would get it.

Are you kidding me??! Availability at a deluxe WITH free dining?? Um, yeah, that was gone pretty much the day free dining was announced. Nevermind the fact that we are talking about a deluxe on the lake, of which there are only four, and one other is ALSO undergoing pool renovations.

This absolutely WOULD ruin our vacation. Our boys are five. Half of a Disney trip to them is the hotel and the pool, which they adore. We spend at least half of our time at the hotel and we aren't going to be traipsing back and forth from some other random hotel pool.

If it wouldn't bother you (and it isn't going to affect you anyway!) then goodie for you, but don't you dare presume to come in here and tell people that they don't have a right to be irritated that a main feature of their very expensive hotel is going to be closed during one of the few free dining periods of the year.

Yes, this was always going to affect someone, but there are far less busy times - and less "pool weather" times, say in January or February, when this could have been done.

In an effort to put an end to the beating of one very dead horse, I think it might be a good time to re-post my parting comment from the prior thread that closed last month:

I hope the new thread will be a positive and informative environment for those seeking information about WL and VWL and WDW in general. For those seeking to vent their frustration and have a more in depth discussion specifically about the WL pool closure, some threads have been created in the Resorts forum that specifically address this issue. These threads focus specifically on the WL pool closure and are the perfect venue to discuss the pool closure issue.

I can't multi-quote tonight, but I have many photos I'll try to start posting tomorrow. As of yesterday, the Silver Creek was still dry, the lobby bridge closed and work continues on the rocks pictured below. I asked for a revised completion estimate and none was available. The workers were throwing top soil at the rocks to weather them, I assume and then they would spray paint them. It started to rain, so work stopped. I took this photo from our room, 5123, on Wednesday. It shows the extent of the screened area and it was in the same condition when we left yesterday.

Happy Comment!

I cannot wait to experience the WL at CL this time.

Even though we have been there twice before, this time I feel it's just going to be 'different'.

And reading Kook's updates and seeing pictures of cobbler gets me more excited to try it!

I may even have my very own DISmeet with someone! Last trip I kept referring to a TR I was reading and that person is going to be there in October for F&W, so we have made a pact to try and meet up :)
For me, this is really big especially with my anxiety, so this trip has many things being celebrated and firsts :thumbsup2

On a new subject then.... Has anyone ever used the cubs den while they have a meal at Artist Point?

Hi everyone! We just decided to book a December 2015 trip at WL!!!

It will be our first time staying at this Beautiful resort!

I was hoping someone could help me with room category selection.

we have 2 small children, they will be 10 and 6 at the time.

we are on a budget , so CL is out.

I was wondering about standard and courtyard.

Can anyone give some pros and cons, or help with where to request?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
TIA!!

Our kids will be the same age as yours when we go. We have gone for a Woods View bunk bed room.

We had our honeymoon there 15 yrs ago. It's taken us that long to save enough to go back! (We are from Scotland)

Have a great time x

Kook the construction for the stream is behind schedule?

My husband and I had a courtyard view last time and loved it - but if you have kids who nap, the pool parties can get loud in the afternoon.

Due to the construction we thought it would be best to switch to the GF this trip but we'll be back hopefully next (or the following) Christmas when the WL really shines! I'm going to miss the lodge but can't wait to return - I'm excited already! :}

I am not very familiar with the layout of rooms at the WL, as we only stayed there once for a few nights during our honeymoon and we stayed CL.

Does anyone know if standard view or woods view rooms are going to hear the pool construction noise in the Fall or would it just be the courtyard view rooms?

Thanks!

It shoild just be the inner courtyard rooms that hear the noise. :)

Thank you! So, standard view and woods view rooms are nowhere near the pool area? Just want to make sure-my parents are deciding between WL or BC. They want WL, but if they are disrupted by construction noise in their room, they will not want to stay there again and I would hate to have their first impression ruined!
