Not trying to argue, but showing a different side. In our case, we don't have a choice. We booked well before the notice was given. We were thrilled with our choice and looked forward to it in every way. This trip is a big surprise birthday thing for our DD and we have been planning and saving since before she was born. We aren't local and for us, this is a big splash and a big moment. Now, here we are with our choices made, our plans set and the perfect vacation in our hand and we find out our beautiful hotel of choice will have the pool closed, jack hammers going, and tarps everywhere. Yes, we looked to make the change, but nothing is available during our time unless we want to downgrade and rent a car or splash out an extra 5 grand to move. I wouldn't say we are going in guns blazing, but a little something considering our situation would not go amiss nor be unappreciated. For those that go all the time and do have the option to change, yes, maybe they should look at other options. But for those than can only go once every 5 years or so, and there aren't any more choices (without having to go off property), then what should they do? Suck it up and pay full price? Sod the plans, dreams and goals that they had for there perfect vacation because "it is what it is"? I am afraid I have to politely disagree. I am not a grabby gus, not do I go into situations with my palm open, but in this case, paying full price for a half price product when other choices are not available to me just doesn't seem quite right. Again, not trying to argue are start a war, just giving another perspective as politely as I can. Yes, as mentioned above, I do see the other side and that is if other choices are available at a similar cost, then considering your other options over the "give me stuff" attitude is a better and more moral choice. I wish I had that, because we would take that path. Cheers and thank you.
