Any inner courtyard view room should have some view of the EWP. The inner courtyard, open to lobby (Bear Face) rooms have balconies that directly face the lake, but are the furthest from it, so they might not have the best view of it. You might have a better view from a room further down one of the wings, but you would have to look to the side to see it. We had a great view of it from 6025, but had to look to the left out the balcony.

Thank you! Would an upper floor room be better than a lower, I guess? Do any courtyard rooms have views of fireworks?

Yes, I would say the higher the better so that you are high enough to have a clear view of the water for the parade.

As for fireworks, courtyard view rooms don't have as direct of a view as North wing woods view rooms do, but some have reported that you can see the higher fireworks from South wing inner courtyard view rooms since their balconies face to the North and you can see some of the fireworks above the North wing.

So excited to be staying at WL in early December.

Our 180 for restaurant reservations is coming up soon. On our day of arrival we will be tired from going to the airport early and 3+hrs flight, but arriving mid afternoon (so no park). Just wondering about the best dining option for dinner close to/at WL with some excitement. Options are:

1/Take the boat to Fort Wilderness to eat at Trail's End
2/Eat at the resort at Whispering Canyon.
3/Something else?

The good news is that my children are easily impressed. :thumbsup2
They like usual kiddie fare like macaroni and cheese, meat, potatoes, salmon...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

We were in room 5135 and we could see the higher fireworks above the North wing each night.

41 days to go! My Son and I changed resorts to the Wilderness Lodge, I'm so ready for a vacation! July 12-19th

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either! I love hanging out at the WL but would definitely want a change of scenery after checking in, exploring, possible pool time, etc., so I'd go with Trail's End.

ONLY 2 DAYS!!!

Spent most of today packing. Hubby and I washed and detailed the truck, so now we're all ready....mostly;) Had to sit down for a bit and catch up on the Boards....

Ok,...... I am thoroughly impressed and must inquire if you have the template for it, I would love to do this before we leave in August... Mine looks all crazy on a calendar format... So if you post the link on here or tell us were you found this format, That would be fabulous :flower3:

Well...I wish I could take credit for the entire document, but my fabulous TA created some of it, then I added the details....and more details...and more details  It's just a word document...nothing fancy, I promise ;) The picture of Mickey is just clipart...cut and paste.

I can't wait for you to get there, but I don't think the stream will be filled. Are you bringing your bike? Having a bike at FW and WL is so much fun, but we can't ever fit any with our ten bags:rolleyes1. But, you can rent them and if you have APs, you'll get 30% off all recreation. BTW, you know I love itineraries so I went over yours and noticed something about your CL breakfast time, (but I could only see it when I looked at it on my iPad and could zoom in like a crazy person). Breakfast is served till 10:30 - can we be OCD together?

WHAT??!!! :crazy2: I made a mistake??!! Ya better believe the time will be changed on my itinerary! We can't have that, now can we? Glad you have an eagle eye :magnify:

Renting a bike or two for sure! That will be my daily exercise :thumbsup2

Jesse is NEVER lost - he's always in front of a TV! Look for Jesse at WL here…

:rotfl: That completely made me laugh! I can't tell you how many pictures we have of that child perched in front of a TV at Disney. And the funny thing is...he's not big on TV at all. He would much rather be outside. Not sure what the draw is for him at the resorts:confused3 ...

Trail's End is a good choice. There is a really nice playground right next to the restaurant which the kids might enjoy after a day of traveling. And the food is very good. We have eaten there on our last three trips. :thumbsup2

Yes, it still shares and congratulations on booking! I'll log your dates:).

Thank you! I love the villas, they're so quiet and the entire resort is peaceful. I was hoping the buses would only be shared with FW but that's ok. For a pre-park breakfast (8:15) what time would you suggest we get to a bus? I was thinking 7:30.

Thank you Kylie and Sue.

A visit to Ft Wilderness and Trail's End it is!

A boat and a playground should be ideal after a long trip. :thumbsup2

So, I have a few days off at the end of June that coincides w my DS bday. And we have APs. I booked a two bedroom room at the Caribe Royale thinking my ex husband could come also (I know that's odd, but he's also a Disney fan and a good dad, soooooo I deal). But now he is backing out. Should I book at WL? I have priced out AKL, which I love but I'm still so sad I'm missing WL in Aug.

Ok, so I priced it out...WL courtyard bunk bed room is $267(+tax). AKL standard room $221(+tax). I'm currently paying $170(+tax) off property. Should I switch?!?!? Help!! This is a last minute unplanned (ie unbudgeted for) trip.

Only you know if it would create a financial hardship, but if it were me, I would also look at the prices at the moderate resorts. If you can afford WL, then I would stay there. If you can only afford AKL, it's fine too (it's not one of my favorites, but it has lots of fans). A moderate would probably be close to the price you are paying to stay off property.

I had to scramble to cover the expense of an unplanned 10 day trip later this month, so I know how you feel. But I found out I could afford WL, so hopefully you can too.

If you can afford it I would go with WL. It may be fair to assume you'll be spending most of your time at MK and therefore I would strongly suggest WL if you can swing it. AKL is beautiful but for my family it's too removed from everything else. Besides, a courtyard view is so nice and a bunk bed room will be a hit. Since your ex isn't coming you won't need the 2-bedroom and therefore won't have to stay offsite in order to give each other privacy. :thumbsup2

This is what I keep telling myself!! I love coming on a Disney board to justify my WDW addiction. ;)

I'm torn between Thanksgiving week or the first/second week of December (don't want the Pop Warner week) to visit for 8d/7n.

ODD will be in K so I have no school concerns.

Sadly, not until 2016, but I need to "do something" for the trip.

Thoughts greatly welcomed.

I'd go for December before the crowds hit! :-)
