We stayed in a MK View Room on the 12th Floor last month. Although the 14th floor lounge is smaller, I think I like it better than the 12th floor from what I can see. I did like that the CM's were so helpful. It was like having waiter/waitress service. They were very attentive. They offered us glasses of wine and refills. We are not even big drinkers! We were very impressed with the Club Level service at this resort.

Glad you enjoyed CR Atrium club :). We are booked MK view CL for a few nights in December, which will be our first stay at the CR and I'm very excited to try it :goodvibes.

Hi Everyone! I just returned from an amazing 5 night stay in room 4911 on the 14th Floor/Tower Club. This was our first stay at the contemporary and I am sure it will not be our last.
First of all the refurbished room was beautiful. I loved the decor and all the extra space. I loved the sliding doors into the bathroom area ( as well as the separate toilet space). One thing I wish they would add/improve is more storage area by the vanity as well as in the shower. There were no shelves to place your products on resulting on having to put them on the shower floor. Honestly, that is the only negative thing I could find!
Next the staff on the 14th floor are amazing and so friendly. When we first checked in the gentleman asked us what kind of wine we preferred. At the time I thought he would arrange to have it in the lounge for us or provide a glass after we checked in. When we came back to our room a few hours later there were two bottles of wine in our cabin, the one I preferred and one for my husband. It was service like this that made our stay truly magical!
The lounge was great and I wish we would of utilized it more. Since we were on the deluxe dining plan we really only used the lounge for a light breakfast before going to the parks. There were no bottles of water out at all but if you asked they would bring you small Dasani bottles (as many as you requested)
As far as noise from California Grill, there was none! We went to bed pretty early when the restaurant was still open and we heard nothing from the floor above ours.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I am so happy we chose the contemporary and will definitely love to return to Tower club again

Thanks for posting about your stay as well as the great pics. The rooms look nice as does the lounge. Glad you enjoyed your stay and would return the CR :).

I did my online check in and wasn't sure what to request for room selections? It's our first time staying at BLT. I selected the option for near the walkway bridge. Any other suggestions?

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind that I jump in with questions. We're planning a trip in a little over a year back to WDW. We're planning to stay at the Contemporary this time. We stayed at the Poly last May, and have also stayed at YC and AKL.

Question #1) How is the walk from monorail to the garden rooms? Is it comparable to what you'd walk at the Poly (we stayed in a building by the volcano pool)?

2) is there a tunnel to get from the tower to Garden rooms? In other words, after exiting the monorail, can we get to the garden rooms without going outdoors?

3) Besides cost, is there any benefit to staying in a garden room over the tower?

I had originally thought we'd stay in the Tower, but the price difference is swaying me to consider the Garden.

This trip will include my husband, myself and our 3 kids. Our kids will be 10-boy,7-boy, and our daughter will turn 5 there. My mom will meet us there, too.

Hi there!
Has anyone booked the cabanas at the CR? What are they like? We have one booked for our upcoming stay at CR in Nov and are wondering what sort of amenities they include? Is there anything we need to request or order/pay extra for that would make our time there more special? Is there a difference in the different cabanas or one that we should request?

We are a party of 6, 4 adults one 3 year old and one infant that will (hopefully) be napping in the cabana. Any tips greatly appreciated!!

BTW, those pics of the club level rooms on the 14th floor look amazing! Do any of them connect?

TIA!!

Hi all!

I am a long time lurker on the boards but now that I am planning my honeymoon I need to ask some questions! We are doing a triple split stay between AKL CL, BWI CL and CR CL from 8/5-8/17/14. We love to resort hop! However, we have only stayed at AKL and the poly before so we are unfamiliar with the contemporary and need a little help. We currently have atrium club level theme park view booked and I know there is only one king bed room that is available to be requested on that level. My question is if we choose the tower club level instead is it possible to actually book one of the two king bed rooms on that level or are the queen bed rooms in the same category? I know that there is a price difference but the fewer people make it worth it for us. Thanks in advance!
Welcome! If you are only two and you book the 14th floor, you will be booked in one of the kings if they are available. They are a separate booking code. I love your fun split stay! Will you be doing a TR of your CL adventure?

We are considering switching from POR to CR for our trip during the first week of February, but are finding that there are only Tower Theme Park View rooms available. Does anyone know why this might be when early Feb is supposed to be a "slower" time? If the rooms are being held for a convention or something, when might available rooms be released? Thanks!
I'd only be guessing, but there could be conventions blocking rooms and I don't know when they would be released, if at all. Sometimes it's just one or two nights of your stay that's booked, like a Friday or Saturday for a convention, wedding, etc... If you drop out a day here and there, you would be able to see on what night(s) it's booked.

THANK YOU so much for posting your photos. The room is beautiful! Could I post them to the first page?

I'm so glad that you didn't hear anything from CA Grill and it sounds like the staff were just great. Love your story about the wine - that was so thoughtful.

So there is only one closet and not two? Are there drawers in the closet where the safe is? The shower is strange. You would think if you were rehabbing all the rooms, you would put in a shelf and maybe take out the bidet like they did to the Presidential Suite at WL.

Were you greeted downstairs when you arrived and escorted up? The lounge looks amazing and I know you didn't use it much, but did they have oatmeal and/or boiled eggs at breakfast? Did you see any snacks or apps?

You've made me even more excited about our June stay. Thanks again!

I'll be checking in at the CR one month from today! :woohoo:
:yay:

Online Check-In is really limiting and I recommend that if you have any requests, you call and add them to your reservation. I don't know what view you booked, but sometimes guests like a higher floor or would prefer being in an outer villa as opposed to the inner villas that can face other villas. There is a great room view thread that can help you. It has a room location chart.

Welcome! Jump in anytime.

1. The walk from the GW to the monorail is about 5 minutes. Once in the Tower, you can take the elevator to the 4th floor and then the escalator to the monorail. You can skip the elevator and instead take two sets of escalators to the 4th floor.

2. Nope, no tunnel, but there is a covered walkway from the Tower to the GW. You won't get wet like at the Poly.

3. I would say the only benefit to the GW besides cost would be if you had a fear of heights or just had to be in the same building as the laundry or you needed a patio.

There is a maximum of 5 in the non-suite and non-Deluxe CR rooms, so if Mom is joining you, she won't be able to fit in the same room. The Deluxe rooms are all in the GW, but they only fit 4.

Happy planning!

Thank you, WDWKOOK!

Do you happen to know if there is any difference amongst the 4 cabanas? Would you recommend booking either one above the others?

Thanks again!
