(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

I agree! Well, at least our family is divided on this issue, and my opinion is based on the purpose of our stay. I LOVE a boardwalk view. I love the sounds, the music, the activity, and even the honking Friendship Boats. Also, we've been able to see the MK fireworks in the distance from our boardwalk view rooms. We've requested a boardwalk view for all of our BWI CL stays, and I'm likely to request one again for January.

My husband, on the other hand, far prefers the garden view. For him, it's less Disney, more quiet and away from busy. As much as I love a boardwalk view, I appreciate these aspects of the garden view and the ability to watch and hear Illuminations from our room. I also now understand that our room assignment in February (no boardwalk view available, but they assigned us to a garden view 2-bedroom suite) could not have been more perfect for the nights leading up to the Princess Half Marathon.

All in all, I'll still take the boardwalk view, and I'll even risk it for the night before the full marathon in January!

A few photos of a garden view

I think I've seen all those pics before, but that doesn't make me like them any less. Especially the wine glass one, though remember for next time I prefer white. :lmao:

I'm with your husband and Kook on the noise (and my wife maybe a little more so), but I'm with you on the view being worth it. Our first trip on the Inn side we were in the Deluxe club room and the extra hump really provided enough area to keep the sound away from the main sleeping area. On the Villa side for our stays now, we do sometimes put the bathroom light on for the fan white noise if it's still noisy when we go to sleep. For us it's worth it to have that BW view for the stay!
We keep saying we'll try a non-BW view one time to see if the noise is better, but then come the 11 month window, we're like nahhh, Are you kidding? BW view it is!

We have transferred to BWV 1 bedroom with RCI. Just called RCI to find out what category unit I was in. He said that he didn't know but I was assigned unit 14F. I looked at the map that I have and surprise no 14F.

Does this 14F mean anything to anyone?

We will be traveling Nov 14-21.

They may call it Unit 14F but it is a category code. When did your trade come through? It takes about 4-5 days for it to show up in the DVC system. Call Member Services and get your reservation number; then link it up in My Disney Experience. Once you link it, you will see your room category.

I just did this for our stay in May and we are in Garden/Pool view category. If the RCI website decides to cooperate (unlikely since the "upgrade") I will check my "Unit" # on my reservation.

I'm with your hubby. I am much too light a sleeper to enjoy Boardwalk view. Love in the morning but :furious: when I'm trying to get to sleep.

I'm torn on this one. I want the Boardwalk view because it's an awesome view, and I am a super sound sleeper. But, I am points cheap, so I can take more trips to WDW. So, it is either a better view or more trips issue for me. On the other hand, DW is a light sleeper, so she we have avoided the Boardwalk view for that reason. Pictures great as always.

I just got the confirmation on Monday- so the confirmation number (9 numbers) I received from RCI is not my reservation number for Disney?

Member Services from RCI or Disney?

This trading into Disney timeshares is all new to me. Have tried several times in the past and never got in. This is my first time actually getting in!!!!

Can I request specific area I want to be in? I have problems walking and need to be near the water taxis.

Not sure about the reservation number (I think it's 12 digits), but with requests I would ask to be close to elevator.

Same here. We had Boardwalk View once. The view itself was incredible. I LOVED it...until I found that I got no sleep. I heard people leaving Jellyrolls. I heard CMs collecting trash. I heard CMs spraying the Boardwalk (cleaning it I guess?). I was exhausted because I didn't get one single good night's sleep the entire trip. :faint:

Don't know much about BWV, are there 1 bedroom villas close to the elevator?

I thought that all the villas were facing the Swan and Dolphin waterway or are they spread out through the resort?

The Villas are the entire half of the resort over the general store, to Jelly Rolls. They face the waterway, the Boardwalk and the parking lot. There are 1 bedroom villas that are closer to the elevators.

Or you could request a first floor! We were on the same floor as the lobby. It was so easy! Very nice for my dad with knee issues

The lobby is on the 2nd floor as far as the BWV section is concerned. There are villas on the first floor as well.

You are right! But I did find being on the lobby floor quite nice. So easy to get to the pools and bus stop. I don't like waiting for elevators!

Our wait list request for a deluxe studio for early June just came through today. When we booked a short trip a few weeks ago to visit our daughter, it wasn't available, so we booked OKW. With Star Wars weekends, I wasn't hopeful that anything would open up.

Does anybody know if I already booked ME, they make the switch when a reservation changes or do I have to update our request?

I got my answer. Checked MDE today and it shows the new reservation with ME.

I am finally staying at BWV!! :cool1:

I have booked (renting points) a Deluxe Studio with a pool/garden view from Dec 7th to the 12th. I am so excited to be there for the Christmas season. :goodvibes
Welcome and congratulations! I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

Where to stay at BWI Water View to be in the middle: close to the lobby, even walk to EPCOT & HS? Is there the perfect request?:wave2:
Sounds like you should request to be "close to the lobby." This should put you close to the middle of it all with a BWV. We prefer a top floor, which would be the 5th. This will give you a more commanding view of the BW and no one will be above you;)

We will be arriving for our first stay at BWI one week from today! So excited. I have a couple questions for the experts though.

First, I didn't see any option for a pack & play or bed rail when I did online check in. Should I call to have these added or just wait until I arrive? We won't be checking in until 7:30pm at the earliest and I'm a little concerned they could be all used up by the time we get there.
Housekeeping will supply those, but they can't be reserved in advance. Just ask at check-in and the CM will call to have it brought up to you after you check-in.

Less than a week to go!!

Yippee! I'll log your dates.

And a boardwalk view - from two different rooms (not sure why some are so big!)
Thank you for re-posting your views:). I remember that wine glass fondly and I hope it was Merlot:drinking1. Have you thought about separate rooms for you and DH?:stir:

We are staying in a studio sv sept 14-18. Are there studios on the 5th floor? Where would be a good location to request? Closer walk to Epcot? Closer walk to HS? Closest to buses?:confused3

We changed our dates again. My husband surprised me last night with adding an extra day onto our trip as an anniversary gift:hug:. Now we are staying 10 days in Disney! Yippee!!

GF-CL 7/24 to 7/28
BWI 7/28 to 8/2

This is really good info! I'm strongly considering a deluxe room for the WDW marathon in January, and this is all good to know. We were so spoiled by that 2-bedroom suite in February - everyone could stay up and in the room while I went to sleep early in preparation for the race. So I was thinking deluxe might be a middle ground between a regular room and the 2-bedroom AND offer the added benefit of the boardwalk view. Still concerned about the possibility of getting a room on the 3rd floor, though . . . can't decide.

I usually drink red wine, but next time I'll take one for the team and drink an additional glass of white for the photo op!

Great news! You know I'm following your reports to learn all I can about a GF/BWI split! :)
