once the door to balcony was shut and curtains were closed you heard muffles...not super loud as we are light sleepers..but light sounds and it didnt bother me. I knew where we were, and it was festive! Not drunks screaming or yelling at all. We could see the fireworks from Epcot every night! we were 3rd floor above Big river brewing.... we would stay there again and probably book pool view to save some money though. We don't need that view every time:lovestruc

The funny thing about the BW is that they really made a big mistake (in our favor) in that the BW view is the same points as the pool view. It's just who books first. The standard view is lower points, but it's not pool, it's the entrance, parking lot, etc. though many people say even that is still pleasant if you want to save points. :thumbsup2

ohhh that's right! So to save some $$ on points we would book standard, maybe! I saw the rooms that overlook the entrance...eh. The pool or looking over the canal are nice, and of course the BW itself was great! we booked at exactly the 7 month window for easter/school vacation week so it wasnt hard to get. Lots to think about for next april 2015!! wondering if we want to try a studio at BC??

I am 31 days from my first time stay at Boardwalk Inn. I have seen alot of updates about construction. Is there certian areas I should be aware to stay away from when making requests for room?

Ditto. I haven't heard much about construction and we're leaving in 33 days- what can I expect??

I will be in WDW in 5 days and at The Boardwalk Villas in 6. Can't wait! It is still not very warm in the Northeast.

We are staying in a 1 bedroom villa in Nov. I called DVC today and they asked me if I wanted a pool view or garden view. I need to be close to an elevator- so which one should I pick??

advantages of either one?

better views from either one?

I believe (and I think I even read it several pages back in this thread)... they are doing interior room remodeling and they will close one floor at a time.

Someone in the know correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

I'm staying at the BWV for the 1st time in 25 days and I got an 8am ADR at Sci Fi! I assume the boats to HS are up and running at 7am, I hope?

If the boats are not running, then it is a short walk as the villas side is closer to DHS.

Also, while I have never tried at BWV, the other resorts have arranged for a bus at an earlier time for AM ADRs. Two years ago, there was a bus from CR/BLT to Epcot for 8:00 AM ADRs at Akershus as the Monorail hadn't started yet.

I'd plan on strolling over and not worrying or wasting time waiting for a boat. Truly, it takes 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace to get to DHS from The Boardwalk.

I am staying at the BWI for 3rd weekend of SWW and we plan to walk over every morning, did it last year from the swan. With the crowds and early openings of DHS (plus any of us whom are crazy enough to wait in line at 4 am in the morning for celiebrty bands so we can get autographs) walking is all we try for.

We are booked in a standard studio for January. Hopefully the view won't be too terrible!

We had a standard room requested garden pool view when we did online check in and got what we felt was awesome view!! Out the balcony was the clown pool and playground then we also had view of tower of terror!! We loved it !!

after staying there I can honestly say that the pool view would be wonderful to look out onto! We loved BW view but wouldn't need to use that many points to stay that way next time. Thinking of doing it again for April 2015, unless we go with another DVC studio in another resort?!?!?!:confused3

We are arriving at BWV in 32 days (6/01). Any other news on the construction? Is it limited to BWI or does it include BWV? TIA

They are refurbishing the rooms in the Inn only. No construction just refurb to rooms.

I am staying on the INN side so I will see this construction :(

I'm staying there too and I'm not too worried about it. From what I've been reading, Disney will usually close off one floor at a time. You will probably not even notice they are doing anything.

More wondering what views will not be available at the time we arrive. Looking to know what my room options are :)
