If the AP codes do not come through for the summer then we are going to look into staying off site as I refuse to pay rack rate when I own an AP :badpc:

So any suggestions to where to start looking at?

My DS loves to swim so a very nice pool area is important.

Also we will be going during the middle of July and like to take afternoon breaks before returning to the parks in the evenings so a resort that is close to WDW is a good thing.

Thank you all for any help on this!

We stay at Cypress pointe. It is a mile from the Downtown Disney entrance. If you go thru Hotelkingdom.com you can get a 2 bedroom condo for $93 a night. It has a volcano pool with a slide and also 2 other quiet pools.

You can find more info here
http://www.cypresspointe.net/

I'd check the DTD hotels for some deals too. The location will be great. They are all pretty nice too. There is also a Doubletree and the Sheraton Safari right outside the DTD area too.

We stayed at my parent's timeshare at Silver Lake Resort this April.

Take a left out of the parking lot onto Sherbeth Road, and you are on
disney property and disney roads in .5 miles. The resort is behind animal kingdom - you can even see Everest easily from the 3rd level!

Try Windsor Hills. It is a new gated community and you can choose from condos, townhomes or single family homes up to 8 bedrooms. Except for the condos, all homes come with their own screened in pool and jacuzzi. Plus there is a community pool with a water slide. It is only 5-10 minutes from Disney. We paid less for a 4 bedroom house than I could get a hotel for, plus if you are going with another family or two you can split the cost and really save money. Also there is a full kitchen in each home fully stocked with dishes, etc. so you can eat at home sometimes. There is also a washer and dryer in each home and the house we had had a game room and Playstation with games in it. The community area is nice as well, movie theater, little convenience store, large game room, fitness room. And the playground is great, my daughter loved it!

If you don't want or need a villa, the Radisson Resort (Celebration World) is also very nice and very reasonably priced. Their pool area really does rival Disney pools IMO. You can check out the review on Mousesavers and see some pictures.

Hope this helps.

P.S. This is also very close to Disney if you want to go back later in the day.

We love the Vistana resort and it's close to WDW. We love having the extra room of a 2 bed, 2 bath.
