Hi there :-)
Can any one recomend a good hotel for children in ..or around clearwater, tampa , st petes.

Any suggestions PLEASE

Thanks Nikki

We stayed at the Don Cesar in St Pete. Our kids loved it too, they had some kids programs we paid for them to go to. 2 pools and the prettiest beach area around! But it is a pricey resort, and weddings and special events are held there too. Do a search on this board for Clearwater and St Pete and see what others say. I am sure there are lots of posts about this area. If search is not working, try again in a minute or two:D !

Not quite the answer to your question, but I'd recommend you AVOID the Ramada at Clearwater Beach.

The hotel itself was a little bit shabby and run down, though its pool area overlooking the sea was kinda nice.

The other thing was that the bar/lounge area tended to be populated by... how can I put this... ladies of a professional nature ! Definitely not the sort of entertainment you want for your kids !

Nikki,
We stayed at the Radisson Sand Key in May with our DS age 5. It's a suite hotel that actually sits on the Bay, across the street from the Gulf. You can look out your front window and see the gulf. The back balcony overlooks the bay. The hotel had activities for the kids and a nice pool. Plus, the hotel is at the end of a small boardwalk that has some little shops, carryout, ice cream shop and restaurants. The hotel offers a "shuttle" - large golf cart that they will take you over to the beach on Sand Key. You can also walk across the street if you wish. If you have a car, you are right across the bridge from Clearwater Beach (nice playground for the kids!). Our hotel room was fine. It's not a 5 star resort. It was clean and comfortable. We really appreciate the kids activities and the staff were great with my son. The hotel also had a resident Macaw - Lisa. My DS enjoyed talking to Lisa throughout the day. We enjoyed watching manatees, dolphins, and stingrays from our balcony. Hope this helps.

Hi Nikki - we stayed here a few years back. It's right on a beautiful beach - I don't usually like sand but this is soft and powdery!!
