I stayed at BCV from 9/24/2005 - 10/01/2005. I sent in several complaints that the quiet pool area was in poor condition. The white chairs were faded and discolored. The Umbrellas at the quiet pool were extremely dirty and needed to be replaced. Lastly the quiet pool itself had a very large stain on the bottom of the pool. Needless to say I felt the Quiet pool area was not up to Disney DVC standards. MGMT has told me that they are working on fixing the problem. Since I live in NY and cannot readily visit BCV, has anyone stayed at BCV recently and noticed any upgrades to the quiet pool area?

Thanks PLennon.

Any one else feel that the hot tub in BCV area is in need of attention too? It seemed rather cool for a hot tub when we were there the last couple times( including our most recent trip in July). In addition, the jets did not seem to be working properly. In contrast, the hot tub at VWL seemed far better in temp. and water flow. Or was it just us?

We were at the BCV this past October. We noticed a 'bathtub ring' around the tiles in the quiet pool and the hot tub. Also the hot tub was extremely hot and there were no 'bubbles' when it was running (we've never used the hot tub at BCV before so I don't know if this is normal). These things didn't seem up to normal Disney standards to us.

We got an invite to the "Manager's Breakfast Reception" one morning where I mentioned these things to the BC rep and was told it would be taken care of. Since we checked out that day, I'd also be curious to know what the current condition of the pool and hot tub is.

back in July the pool was really warm. I think they were having problems with the pumps at that time. The pool was so warm you had to get out once in awhile so you didn't over heat.

In florida an unscreened pool will get up to 90 degrees in the summer if it doesn't rain for a while. Even our screened pool used to get to 88-89. They would need a cooling system to keep it cooler than that.

We have friends who live in Las Vegas and their pool has some kind of cooling unit like the opposite of the heaters we have in our pools in the northeast. Before they got it she said they could only swim at night during the summer because it was too warm. I thought that was funny-like a fridge for your pool!

Yes, during my Nov. visit I didn't think that the hot tub had good air flow--I kept checking to make sure that it was on.
As for the need of repairs, I didn't notice the state of the chairs or bottom of the pool--we were there at night, so I couldn't really speak to how the umbrellas, etc. looked.

I was there in late October. Maybe I am just not picky enough, but I noticed nothing wrong with the chairs, umbrellas or ppol......

I agree with Carol. We were there in late August and things were fine. Yes, the pool was a little too warm, but it was over 90 degrees during the daytime. As for faded chairs and dirty umbrellas, put something out in the Florida sun for a year or more and yeah, it's gonna fade! Then when they do close the pool to clean it, people will complain about that. Sorry I try to find only the positive things in WDW.

Carol, we were there the first week of October. Since there were no issues when you were there, I guess the pool and hot tub were taken care of after we left. It's good to know that regular maintenance is done in a timely manner (maybe it was done on my suggestion?). I guess the 'bathtub' ring we saw was an isolated incident.

While we didn't see any unclean or stained items, and the quiet pool itself was at a nice temperature and fill level, the hot tub was too cold and the jets were not working properly (the temperature difference was very noticible compared to the SAB hot tubs). This was a few weeks ago (first week of December). The hot tub problem was reported by several people but I don't know if or how long it took to be fixed as we decided to go to the other pool over the rest of our stay. Otherwise, our 1 bedroom unit, and the common areas we passed through, seemed to be in good repair.

We are in the Beach Club Villas right now. We've stayed here on many occasions, including the very first day that the BCV's opened, so our perspective is from completely new to current condition. When we first checked in, the room to which we were assigned was in such bad condition that we requested and received another room. While at the front desk, I overheard another person requesting a change of BCV room because conditions in that person's room were so poor. On the other hand, the rooms that we transfered to were fine. Not perfect, but not bad. While we prefer the pool and the over all feel of the Beach Club Villas, we find that the rooms at Boardwalk and OKW are generally in better condition and better maintained than BCV. I can't comment on any other DVC resorts because we only stay in BCV, BWV and OKW.

Wow! that almost sounds like a dream to me here in Connecticut. We have a shaded yard, an above ground pool, no heater, and barely ever break 78 degrees in our pool water. Some days it can be 72 degrees and I just can't swim in it. I need a heater!
