Are there any rides (disney, duh) that a Clausterphobic should skip????

I would probably skip, if I was claustrophobic, Mission:Space in Epcot and Tower of Terror in MGM - but...those to me are some of the best rides. If you truly have a claustrophobia, I would for sure skip Mission:Space, but do try Tower of Terror - the ride is amazing.

Depending on the degree of your phobia-Any theatre where the doors close behind you (BTW they will let you out if you need to).
Any boat ride(it's a small world)-you can't get out. Great movie ride-you can't get out.
I would check the ride lengths-usually you can get through a shorter type ride since there is so much going on around you to distract you.

I'd avoid it -- claustrophobia or, any motion sickness sensitivity, ANY reason!

My sister is also claustrophobic so she skipped TOT. I wasn't sure about HM when the room closes in but she was fine with that.

Skip Mission Space. I rode last year, no problem. This year, it was awful for me. I am not claustrophobic but that was all I could think of this time. I had also just had a big hamburger, which didn't help, but it did feel very...close.

Hi I have the same problem, I have to go and ask a cast member to allow me to skip the first part of the haunted mansion, they walk me behind the closed in room and put me into one of the cars and you just sit and enjoy, the part that I am skipping is a medium sized room but they crowd alot of people into it and the doors close and they do a small presentation for about a min or two, then a door opens and they get on the cars, but the number of people get to me, I am still able to do the ride part.

As far as small world boat ride is I can do easy as you are in the open and lots to see it is cute, but to hubby annoying, lol. The mgm movie ride I can do because it is also not in a tunnel and fairly open but yes you have to stay in your car but lots tolook at.

In the living seas I have to ask someone to let me out as they go into an elevator to exit and I can't take the small space, so a cast member will take you down a hall and out a set of doors, most times there are ways around certain rides.

The spaceship earth in epcot might bother you also, although I have done that one in the past. Any theatre type shows that are inside a building I try to let others go ahead so that I can sit near the isle,

Hope this helps,

Deb.

It's really nice to know that there are others (thought I was weird-but I guess that's why they call it a phobia).

Yes, the aisle seat does help-that way there is only a person on one side of you. Also keep in mind that most (not all) theatre type shows will allow you to leave if you have to (great comfort knowing this). The only show I had a bit of a problem with was the Energy show. You are confined, I don't think you can get off the ride, and it is LONG!

What about the carasol (not sure if spelled correct) of progress, when they shut the doors I think the attendent goes outside while everyone watches the show. I really like that show,

The energy ride I also get migraines so I cannot watch the show at the beginning on the wall with the ship and the water, so I pretty well ride the seats with my eyes closed then my hubby will tell me to open them when we get into the dinausaur area, which is pretty good. Some of the attractions also are so loud, i remember energy being one, I just wish they would turn down the volume, maybe its my age lol or I will bring earplugs.
