Has anyone been to the Clam Bake at Cape May? If so, was it worth it? Do you need reservations? :cheer2:

We went this past April and did have PS, but we won't be back. Maybe it is b/c I am from Boston and grew up having lots of fresh seafood, but I didn't like the food at all (the desserts were good...). The atmosphere is fun, but there are SO many great places to eat at WDW. Just my two cents, I see others on the board that love it...

You will get good and bad reviews on all the restaurants. We have been to the Cape May Clam Bake numerous times and have always enjoyed it. One side is dedicated to seafood and the other to other items such as ribs, chicken, etc. Also a side for salads and another for the kids. Wide variety and good food. Their desserts are always great. I would not go without making a dining reservation. It is very popular and gets crowded as the evening goes on.

We ate here for the first time last week. I would describe it as just ok. I found the variety limited for a buffet. We have eaten at Chef Mickeys in the past and it seemed like they had much more to chose from. Anyway, here's what I remember, clams, mussels, shrimp, corn, and red potatoes on one side, Opposite that was chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes (the mashed potatoes looked like soup but tastes good) and I guess a few other things which I don't remember. There was green salad with only three varieties of dressing, a few different salads like maybe shrimp, potato, etc...and some kind of sliced steak. Oh, they also had dinner rolls and two kinds of soup. At first, all they had on the kids section was mac and cheese and chicken nuggets or was it mini corndogs (can 't remember) but then they started putting out pizza (which was pretty good) We did have an early reservation so maybe they started putting out more food later on, not sure. Most in our party rated this last out of the three disney restaurants we ate at (also Concourse Steakhouse and O'hana). I would never pay for this meal, we were on the free dining plan.

I enjoy it and think it's worthwhile. But don't think that it is supposed to be an authentic clambake or a premier seafood place -- it is neither! It's just a buffet! I think the food is as good as or better than most other WDW buffets (I haven't tried Boma yet). I think they could do better with the seafood but it's not that bad as it is. The desserts are especially good, and last time I was there I swear some women were treating it as a $24 dessert buffet!

I know CMC gets alot of mixed reviews but CMC was one of our favorites a couple of weeks ago. We arrived at opening so everything was hot & fresh. It's one of the few places we all agreed on as a "must do" for next year.

Love :lovestruc this place! The little things like allowing the kiddios to color at first, is great. The decorations are fun to walk around and look at(beach theme). The food was great, every time we went, but then again, I don't eat seafood.
We have gone in a busy summer time and didn't make ressies, so what we did was made a stay by rsvp, and it got us to sit down quicker, than I thought. But yes, I would say if you want to go during dinner time, it wouldn't hurt to make a ressie for it.
If you want breakfast, bring your camera, so you can pictures with Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale.

We went last week and enjoyed it. The food is good, not great, and the atmosphere is fun. I found the salmon and sliced steak very good, but the muscles and clams just okay. Kids liked the children offerings. We definitely ate plenty and it seemed worth it for the money. We were on the meal plan, but would go here again (and have been before) even if we have to pay.

We tried it once and didn't care for it. Being from New England we are used to a Clam Bake with fresh seafood and Clam Bakes have steamers and lobster. CMC was a buffet w. some seafood choices. No steamers and No lobster.

I like CMC for breakfast and dinner. It's not a spectacular place with gourmet food. We go there after we get tired of all the new types of food we eat. To us it's like a good homemade-type of meal (although I don't care for everything they have). It's not like Boma. The clams are ok, but I am not a big clam eater. I had snow crab legs once (an add-on), and the steamed spiced shrimp is good. You must try the Oreo Bon Bons. They have something for everyone there.
