City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course I'm still writing this when I don't have someone like you harrassing me to finish it!
No excuses now. Chop chop!

Does that mean he'll send you on a trip to some god-forsaken place in south-central PA where you have to eat dinner in a cellar? If so, let me know.
You'll be the FIRST to know. Actually, I have a contractor in York that I will see from time to time. :)

Oh, the sun was shining in the window, they should've been up by then. Judy's been more dedicated to working out than me, but that's nothing new. She's been at it consistently, and has some clothes now that are looking a little baggy. I took some time off after we got back from this trip, then got back into it in the fall for a little while, then took a loooong vacation from it until about a month ago and now I'm back at it.
Good for both of you! That is one tough workout program. Now we have to work on your hotel workout etiquette...

And here I thought you liked the more cerebral jokes.
I like to keep you guessing.

Well, now that I know you're reading I can try to work more in.

"Vandelay Industries! Vandelay Industries!"
And you want to be my latex salesman.

You got that right. I've never seen you without much to say!
Hey  -- no wait, you're right.

Wow, tough crowd. Okay, I'll work on that. :thumbsup2
I'm counting on you, buddy.

Hard to believe, huh? I feel honored! :goodvibes
Actually, you're way more popular than me, lol. The honor is all mine.

Patrick needs his first trip to Disney documented in writing. Just sayin'.
And we need to read it too.
And I want to write it! Trust me, I'll do whatever I can to make it happen.

Hey, at least we're still only on 1 thread!
Thank God for small miracles.

I think we will try to stay at the Boardwalk next time, which will probably be 2015.
So jealous. I loved that resort for my truck class.

Hucifer! Wow, I feel like I really picked the right day to pop back in over here!

Hey twin! Good to "see" you! What's this I hear you have a little one now??? Congratulations! Being a mommy is the best. Thing. Ever.

But it was a very tranquil moment and I decided to capture it:

After I took it, I thought “I’ve gotta send this to somebody” and decided to text it to a co-worker who was back at the office. He actually didn’t see it until later, but the next day he sent me this (he was working from home that day):

Okay, THAT made me laugh out loud in my cubicle.

Wow, you guys are posting like mad these days. :faint:

Hey Glenn don't I get a point for Eagle Eye spotting Marlene !!!!?????:rotfl2::rotfl2:

No! No soup for you!

Ooops I did it again I posted at the top of the page sooooo everyone you have 13 more posts before any hope of an Update !!!!

You were the inspiration for that Brittney Spears song, weren't you?

Hi Glen! I'm proud of Marlene for being determined and trying out again:thumbsup2

Me too. I was sorry that it didn't work out better, but you can't say she didn't try!

How cool to get to EE before it opens!

Well it should've been running by that time, for a couple of minutes anyway, but they were still putting it through its paces that morning.

I have to remember that Rainforest trick this time.

Which might be soon, I hear.

Well, I'm off - going to WDW TODAY!!! :yay:

Enjoy!

Hi Glen! Congrats on being the official winner of MEK's "guess where we stayed" contest!

Hi emmysmommy (Brenda, I see in your sig) and :welcome: I've seen you posting on MEK's thread and others. Thanks for stopping by! :goodvibes

Very good detective work might I add! :thumbsup2

It was more a case of good timing than detective work. I happened to look in right after Mary Ellen confirmed someone else's clue and was able to figure it out from there. Kind of swooped-in. :rolleyes1 I thought I had done some good detective work earlier, when I used the distances she gave and zero'd in on a resort using Google maps, but that didn't work out. :headache:

Seeing as how you hold that prestigious honor I had to drop by and partake in the fun of your TR. My gosh, you are going to be in danger of needing a second thread! (Didn't you have that "problem" before? )

Yes, please partake!

It is a problem going to a second thread...even getting this many pages in one thread is a little daunting for new people trying to catch up on what's happened. And they think "Shirley, (I mean surely), it must be almost over by now!!" But no, I still have more to go...the rest of this Epcot day, a day at Universal, and the luau at the Polynesian. :thumbsup2

That Dorma is awesome! We saw her greeting guests last summer on Hollywood Blvd. and when she asked where a family was from they answered Brazil. Without missing a beat she launched into speaking Portuguese. :) So perfect!

Wow, I had no idea! She's even awesome-er than I realized!

Great trivia to know about EE should I need to increase the thrill factor. And it's always good to know alternate entrances to AK via RFC! Well done redeeming yourself!

Yeah, I needed a confidence boost after finally finding the not-so-hidden secret passage at MK the day before.

Soarin' is not a must-do for us
Okay, I gotta be honest here. I'm having trouble getting past this comment.

The kids were like, "Yay, Dad! That Disboards stuff finally paid off!"
Translation:
"We still think you're a kook, but at least you got something valuable out of that weird and totally embarrasing obsession."

Even though cast members Heather and Amy had just told me to cross my arms and legs for the drop, I was contemplating whether to follow my DIS-friend Nory's advice and in addition to holding up my arms...pick up my legs for the drop! I wasnt sure if I'd try it or not until I got there, and I did it...awesome!
Sooo...picking up your arms and legs intensified the experience?
And then you're supposed to close your eyes for the backwards part?

(I'm taking notes for next time.)

I'll go check out the Hawaii video soon. :)

I think I looked at that before, but I might have to check it out again since it's Hucifer.

I had just caught up with the previous chapter and was working on catching up with everyone else's TR's while you ninja-posted this update.

I knew he was a good kid. :thumbsup2

If there's an occupation out there that values skills in videogames and movie quotes, he'll be all set.

You'll be the FIRST to know. Actually, I have a contractor in York that I will see from time to time. :)

Give us a shout when you're around. :)

And you want to be my latex salesman.

Yes, for a sales position. Latex salesman, the selling of latex, and latex related products.

And I want to write it! Trust me, I'll do whatever I can to make it happen.

:cool1:

Okay, THAT made me laugh out loud in my cubicle.

I love that it says "Cash Flow and Allocation" on his screen. So relaxing. :rotfl:

Okay, I gotta be honest here. I'm having trouble getting past this comment.

:upsidedow What can I say, that's the way it is. One ride per trip is plenty, and skipping it one visit is fine too. I really don't get going on it multiple times in a row.

Translation:
"We still think you're a kook, but at least you got something valuable out of that weird and totally embarrasing obsession."

That is exactly the translation. Sometimes they call me a "DIS-nerd", can you believe that??!

Sooo...picking up your arms and legs intensified the experience?
And then you're supposed to close your eyes for the backwards part?

(I'm taking notes for next time.)

I can't think of anything funny to say to this except....that's what she said!

Actually, I think they said to look at your left foot for the backwards part. How you're supposed to see your left foot in the dark, I have no idea.

That's because you finally posted something.

Oh, so thaaaat's how it works.

7:45am. That's what time I woke up in our Kidani suite back on June 28, 2012.
I'm just glad you included the year since we've now had another June 28 since then... :rolleyes1

Sleeping in like that though, there'd be no time for the fitness center or jogging or a workout video being played. (Under my breath, I yelled Woohoo!) But hey, we'd been hoofing it around the parks so much, who needed more of a workout than that?
Seriously??? It took you this long to figure it out??? :confused3 :lmao:

Soarin' is not a must-do for us (sacrilege, I know!).
I can't exactly argue with you... :rolleyes1

And here's where Glennbo redeemed himself with his park knowledge. (Thank you Disboards!) We zipped into the Rainforest Café and simply walked through to the turnstile that almost no one knows about!
Another secret passage! Watch out, your kids are going to be expecting you to know secret paths to everywhere from now on.

I'm sure this will turn out to be one of those "you had to be there stories", but somewhere around Discovery Island we zipped past a mother who was at a counter-service restaurant (maybe Isle of Java). Right at the very moment we passed, she yelled back to whoever she was with asking, "Do you want anything?" Marlene replied (just as loudly), "No, thank you", as we speed-walked by. She really wouldn't mess with a stranger like that, so I'm sure that in that split-second she really thought that she was being asked. We laughed about that the rest of the way to Everest.
Well, I wasn't there, and I think it is hilarious. I kind of feel sorry for Marlene though. It appears her dad is rubbing off on her. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Katie said that the song she chose didn't have a lot of melodic range and sounded difficult to sing live. Then she talked about how important song choice is for an audition. She didn't request a second song, probably due to Marlene auditioning a couple of days earlier. And that was it. It was a much harder let-down than her previous auditions, which I feared, but what're going to do? I think that the outcome was set as soon as she said that she'd already auditioned that week. Oh well.
That's certainly disappointing. I hope that she'll be willing to try again next time! But this time make sure she leaves the part out about having already tried.

What can I say, that's the way it is. One ride per trip is plenty, and skipping it one visit is fine too. I really don't get going on it multiple times in a row.
Stop this crazy talk AT ONCE.

That is exactly the translation. Sometimes they call me a "DIS-nerd", can you believe that??!
[laughs nervously]

I know, right?

[pulls collar]

Actually, I think they said to look at your left foot for the backwards part. How you're supposed to see your left foot in the dark, I have no idea.
It's called "imagination." Maybe the Figment ride should be a "must-do" for your next trip.

Oh, so thaaaat's how it works.
You think you would have figured that out by page 4,082.

I'm just glad you included the year since we've now had another June 28 since then... :rolleyes1

Thanks for pointing that out Andy! :rotfl2:

I can't exactly argue with you... :rolleyes1

Aha! There is another! <high five>

Another secret passage! Watch out, your kids are going to be expecting you to know secret paths to everywhere from now on.

Sneaky. :tiptoe:

Well, I wasn't there, and I think it is hilarious. I kind of feel sorry for Marlene though. It appears her dad is rubbing off on her. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Yay! She's actually just like her mother, but hates to hear that.

That's certainly disappointing. I hope that she'll be willing to try again next time! But this time make sure she leaves the part out about having already tried.

I think she will. And good advice. :thumbsup2

I started reading this update and had a flashback to our very first trip as a family, where we attempted three parks in one day with a 4 year old and 22 month old. :confused3 Don't ask me why! It was our last day, though, so we were cramming. I'm glad to see that you seem to have at least started smoothly!

Too bad Marlene didn't get any further in Idol. What a letdown! Hopefully she didn't let it ruin her day. Looking forward to seeing what World Showcase has in store!

Thanks for the secret turnstile tip, as well as the tricks to try on EE! I will put them all into play during our October trip!

All caught up (again)! Summer is in full swing and now I can read TRs! :cool1: Too late to list my Judy sightings here unfortunately, I'll be on the ball for the next update though :)
